She goes to Sheffield Hallam , I think she's doing Film and Screenwriting (on her notebook, she got that imprinted and it said 'first year screenwriting')

Honestly I cringed so much with the weird acting on her stories and her inside out, backwards top. Her 'oh dear' and continuing to wear it back to front... I had to show my boyfriend and he cringed just as much
But I really like the first outfit! She actually looks like a 20 year old

I don't think it's overly usual not to, I was 24 when I passed because I didn't need a car when I was 17-24.

True, but I live in a similar type of area to Ruby (rural), and it was pretty much essential to learn to drive at 17 if you wanted to go anywhere spontaneously, as public transport in these types of areas is typically every 2 ish hours. Unless she has very understanding parents who are willing to drop everything to take her places, or she only ever goes to places (which require a car) with her parents...

yes, i'd say either staying in academia or being overly-productive trying to have different sources of income like ali abdaal does (investing in real estate, remember she bought a cottage being only 18, and pushing her own brand, pumpking productivity, just like holly gabrielle does with narna and her tutoring business)
i don't see her in a corporate job, in an office and having a boss

What’s funny is that Ruby can’t even pronounce academia correctly, whenever she embarrassingly bangs on about “dark academic” she pronounces akadaymear. For someone who loves English lit, her writing and pronunciation is atrocious. Don’t get me wrong, mine isn’t great but I don’t bang on about books like she does

Yes the prices are shocking, although I like the style of the brand generally. Unfortunately my usual strategy of looking for second hand on EBay hasn't got me anywhere as there is literally nothing from MP on there!

I found her Lookbook quite weird. Why does she walk around pretending to be a *13* year old when she‘s 20?!

I love the blue stripey Miss Patina dress but if I went to work wearing that and pigtails and a boater hat my colleagues would be having words with me. I think the long pigtails look does not help Ruby seem her age at the minute.

Probably her parents helped with the down payment and I have a hunch we always underestimate how much influencers earn from their social media channels. I think she had savings as she had started her channel quite young and still living at home i.e. no bills/expenses etc. to think of yet.

no offence to martha, but if she would edit ruby's videos they would be full of subliminal messages referencing memes

Martha edited Ruby’s Stranger Things look book, you could tell her editing style as it’s pretty unique

I go to the University of Leicester! They have cancelled a load of courses for this year though so it may simply be that they now can offer people places/accommodation purely because a load of courses aren’t running now. They’ve cancelled my course for first years which sucks (I’ve just finished second year).

And that's how they've managed to do it. It's a world away from Oxford where you get a place on the course you applied for.

Hey all! Long time lurker here. I often see you post about Ruby's private schooling and I was wondering if you would genuinely judge / hold it against someone if they went through private education? For example, if someone acted completely 'normal' (whatever that means) and was aware of their privilege, yet still went to private school, would you hold it against them?

Honestly I do not think Ruby looks healthy at the moment, at all. First of all she looks mentally drained and miserable behind the eyes and physically she just seems a bit like hunched over and pale? And watching her latest yt video and I cannot stop staring at her hands, they look really dry (im guessing from all the hand washing) but they also look really swollen as well? Especially the thumbs. Idk she usually looks chirpy and healthy but she just looks really unwell atm

I think Ruby has stub thumbs (there is a latin name for it, but I'm not going to attempt to spell it), and that's why they can appear disproportionately wider/swollen compared to the rest of her hands.

thank you both of you! you're absolutely right, she isn't forced to show the product, but if she's using it regularly, she should be open and transparent about where it comes from
i've also realised that she sells many products on depop that are brand new with tags on...she suddenly realises she doesn't want them right after buying them? or is she making money out of selling gifted products? that's suspicious...

Ha indeed. I went to an inner city comprehensive in a deprived area, and I was the goody two shoes of the class though not as much as Ruby appears to be though, and I grew out of it. Once I actually ran out of class crying because it was coming up to exam time and the teacher was trying for 20 mins to get the class to behave and stop messing about and I just snapped because we weren’t learning. To be honest most of my learning happened at home, as homework, as catch up because most of each class (1 hour) was spent by the teachers telling people off. It was terrible, I was bullied, and Ruby would have no chance coping with it. Sometimes I wish I grew up in a rich family and went to a nice school but it really isn’t the reality for the majority of us.

I hope Ruby does find her way and works on her anxieties. I think she imprisons herself with productivity because she doesn’t know how to relate to the outside world. I can’t see her coping in a call centre like I did after uni - it was a big smack in the face of reality for me, for how the world actually can be after education.

I wish her well but I do think she needs to get out of her comfort zone a little.

I’m sorry but this is actually nuts. Who schedules in something relaxing like watching YouTube? That just defeats the whole purpose of relaxing if you’re more bothered about ticking something off a list. Also, does she just never watch a film or binge watch a TV series?
