I've said it before and I'll say it again. She has long since outgrown her nursery styled bedroom and it is only going to get worse. I remember being in my late teens, running out of wall space for housing my books. Graduating, working a full time job, saving money, moving out, eventually getting married and owning our own home allowed me to expand my horizons. She was an absolute idiot to advertise that cottage she was planning to move into after school. Now everyone knows where it is. She could have had interesting content on DYI's, home decorating, gardening, the whole cottagecore vibe going on, and walls full of bookshelves filled to the brim. A perfect writer's paradise. No. She blew it and continues to cling to mummy and daddy for everything, living in her filthy hovel and remaining the adult child for eternity. If she couldn't embrace doing interesting content from Oxford I can't imagine anything decent coming from her now.

As far as we’re aware, the cottage is tenanted and I’d imagine she needs the rent to pay the mortgage. I will say this every time someone brings the cottage up but I would be wild if she chucks someone out of their home to fanny about playing with a life-sized doll house. We all know she wouldn’t actually live there or manage it in an adult way - it would just be left to get filthy and filled to the brim with crap. She’d go there for a couple of hours every so often to cover something else in paint-water and washi tape and leave a mess. I can’t see her actually producing any kind of sensible content about the cottage, just more nonsense.

I’m all for people living their lives how they want and if Ruby wants to play at being a Victorian stay-at-home daughter, and she can afford it, and her parents are happy to enable it then good luck to her. However I do have a problem when her fantasies bleed into the real world and I’d hate to see a tenant displaced just because Ruby needs somewhere to store the books she’ll never read …

I really don't understand how she has a masters in english, where she supposedly spent months examining books as objects, when she says shit like "you have a choice of covers these days. Back in the 2000's books had one cover and that was it."

Books have always had different covers -- international covers, different edition covers, hardcovers. In the 80's, stepback covers had a moment (that I wish would come back) where the cover had a hole cut out of it and then behind the cover would be a piece of artwork for the book, making the cover a mix of both.

Her stupidty really wouldn't bother me so much if she didn't speak like she was an authority on things when almost everything she ever says is factually incorrect.

The extent of the "studying" in the next video is just Ruby copying a study guide plot summary of Milton's Comus from place to another and adding purple prose to it.

She claims this is her writing a "retelling" of it. Ripping off A Good Girl's Guide to Murder didn't work, nor did ripping off Lemony Snicket or His Dark Materials, so she's evidently pivotting to trying to imitate The Song of Achilles/Circe 4 years too late.

Expect her to assault her agent's inbox with yet another slapdash, ripped-off manuscript any day now. No doubt she'll lazily reword Comus so that the main character is a 12-year-old child prodigy who is abandoned in the woods by her family for being too intelligent. There, she must avoid the temptation of drunk woodland teens trying to lure her from the path of productivity with their demon ethanol.

I’m sure Ruby’s previously said (more than once …) that she doesn’t like Austen. Or do we like it now because the author’s name starts with ‘A’ so it’s usually on the top shelf?

I highly doubt Ruby has the comprehension skills needed to enjoy the tongue-in-cheek satire that is Jane Austen's writing. 90% of the time when people say they don't like Austin that's the reason why. They sincerely believe humor was invented one day in the late 70s, and refuse to believe otherwise, so they take everything Jane writes as being serious literature. And when you read it with that mindset of course it seems ridiculous and boring.

In her latest TikTok, Ruby confirms that the printed-on-card copies of letters that she's printed for her dodgy letter subscription/charity scam will not be newly-written for the subscription.

She holds up one of the "LATTARS" that she'll be sending out as part of the subscription, and lo and behold, she's already shown it...

The letter she showed in the announcement post for this scam wasn't just as an example of the kind of letter you'll get, but one of the letters, copied from her performative jaaaahrnal where she writes insipid, hollow, try-hard paaarple pryose about the weather in her back yard while trying desperately to be Emily Dickinson.

So not only do unfortunate subscribers not get a personalised letter from Ruby as part of their penpal subscription, or even something in the form of a letter considering it's printed on card with an awkward border around it, but it's not even new content.

She just lazily copied some letters she wrote to herself months ago, and the first letter that subscribers get will be one they already read in her Instagram post announcing the project.

As predicted, she's talking about leaving academia forever and is blaming the ONFAAAIR NAYCHA OF THE GRADING PRYOSASS. It's just endless lies from there. "OIY'VE LOFFED AVVERY MINUTE OF UNIVAAAARSITEEEEEA." "OIY'M JANUINELEEEYYY PASSIONATE ABOUT MOIY SOBJACKT." "OIY LOFF LAHHHRRINNG MWOAR THAN ANNYTHING." Instead of being honest and acknowledging that she hit an intellectual ceiling in high school, hasn't enjoyed studying since, actively avoids learning or doing her own work and only made it this far by virtue of luck, privilege and good old-fashioned cheating, she just lies her ass off and yet again blames academia for not acknowledging her imaginary genius the way she wanted.

Her claiming that the mere idea that she could stumble on an idea that she already had is unfathomable is a hilariously stupid lie even by Ruby's standards. She's knowingly started every essay she's written by looking at critical essays and study guides before/instead of touching the core texts to poach an existing argument and reverse-engineer an essay from other people's work. I highly doubt this was any different.

Also funny: Her announcing that she's going to read an essay recommended by her dissertation supervisor, only to show that the essay in question was written by her dissertation supervisor. It's the same supervisor whose ass she's been shamelessly kissing since she arrived at Oxford, which might explain why Ruby's suddenly gone out of her way to cite the essay in her video description.

She’s posted a packing video on TikTok, she’s gone for four nights and is only taking a carry on (looks like just an under the seat bag). I’ve done this a few times and it’s totally doable with smart packing, so it’s really irrationally irritated me that she’s wasted half her bag space with two hardbacks, what looks like one paperback, and a notebook for four nights?? Then when she shows the outfits it looks like it’s just two bottoms, two t shirts, a sweater vest and a jumper?? Why does she always prioritise her ‘I’m a reader’ aesthetic over being practical

Haven't posted in YONKS (turns out, trying to work and do a full-time PhD at the same time is Very Hard Work) but been lahking and reading all about our favourite Rutabaga. Genuinely felt sick at the result of her MA, and the thought of her doing a PhD.

Just felt it VERY ACKSHYUALLY AMPORTANT to point out that she's edited that other video so the beginning of it doesn't have her waxing lyrical about never ever getting up early and never ever going outside in the morning.

Complete coincidence, of course.

This behavior should be studied because what the actual fock. A little off-topic but I'm the same age as Ruby, graduated last year and am finally starting my 1st "big girl"/ JOB job!! I struggle to step out of my comfort zone sometimes but seeing her rot in her bedroom, pretending to be TWALVE for god knows how long gave me an example of what NOT to be lol. The first couple years in my profession are notoriously hard (as is most jobs I'm guessing!) but I'll try my best to balance work with going to the gym, seeing my friends, and taking care of me and my pets. And saving up for my first car and moving out
