It’s so sad that she’s spending her last day library hopping. By all means make use of the libraries while you’re studying, but wouldn’t you want to be exploring the city/ socialising with friends on your last day. It made me think of the latest vlog where she’s just eating her dinner on a bench alone while there was a group of students playing croquet in front of her. Obviously you don’t have to be socialising 24/7, but it’s such a wasted opportunity that she hasn’t really made any real friends this year.

Why is Blakeney dressed for a casual summer outing while Ruby looks like she fell into a bargain bin in a charity shop 😭
It’s like a young 20 something has taken granny out of the home, for a nice day out 😂

Making a new thread because new vid just dropped! Credit to @StatusWoe for the title - it was a propitious early suggestion (the very recent ones at the end of the last thread get honorary mentions, because I was wheezing at them as well 😂) and I feel it‘ll serve as a warning to us all: Roobee’s Oxford “adventures” (and I use the term loosely) have come to an end, prepare yourselves for a summer of ennui in her childhood bedroom, neighbouring fields, and probably another trip to Italy to pose next to some art.

Edit: Here’s the video!

edit #2 god help us all, she’s planning to make a Skillshare course 😂😂😂 fingers crossed she gets it up before my subscription expires in October, rest assured I will bless you all with commentary if at all possible.

I wonder if she told Blakeney she was going to announce that to the world before recording the video...

"With how I am feeling right now I knew I wouldn't be as productive today."

Ruby, babes, you haven't explained how you're feeling at all. We, your captive audience, have no concept of what you're talking about when you say this. The video started 30 seconds ago with you sitting in the grass and meditating. Going off the available context clues, I'm gonna assume that you're feeling super zen right now. As an 'author' you should know better.

Also, it's absoloutely mental to me that her desitation is due in 5 days and she's gallivanting around to cafes, orchestra showcases, balls, formals, viewer meet-ups, and museum events. She's had all year to do these things, but saves them to crunch time. Classic Rubles.
---
Her blabbing on about "omg, I JUST found an essay almost identical to mine." Is 100% her setting the groundwork for plausible deniability if/when she gets pulled up for plagiarism.

Ruby, the Oxford graduate who is recommending students to read Wikipedia as a study guide. You would think that with Ruby's perfect student image that she wouldn't be admitting that she did such a thing, let alone encouraging it.

Also how on earth did she not notice the leaf in her hair? I kept focusing on it during the whole video and she has bound to have noticed it at one point.
Rumbster simply does not give a single shit. She has no problem showing just how dirty that house is. Compared to this, that leaf is nothing to her.

I too used to loved The Raven, but now when I close my eyes and hear those words, I see a deadpan faced Ruby standing in a nightgown in the garden surrounded by candles... and it scares me.
This is the third time Ruby's uploaded a clip of herself reciting The Raven at high speed. Does the word NEVERMORE mean nothing to her?!

I’d quite like to think she’s rage-baiting but I genuinely think she’s oblivious and she really thinks that she’s posting aesthetic content rather than stuff that looks like the slow unravelling of her sanity. I’ve always had the impression that Ruby and Martha have perhaps been praised a little too much for any endeavour and they genuinely think that what they’re putting out there is good has artistic (or academic) merit. There’s just no self-awareness there in either Ruby’s or the Pumpkin Productivity content and I just think that they really believe that they’re so good already they don’t have to out any effort in.
Yeah, this is where I land on it.

Her persona and her content is calculated as far as she thinks it'll make her appear highly intelligent, productive and worthy of envy. But she's just too lazy and incompetent to pull off the act, so there's constant editing flubs, malapropisms, general mistakes and bizarre moments of strange behaviour like her regular backyard insanity.

She desperately wants to be seen as the world's smartest child genius, but her main point of reference for that is HARRMOYONEEE GRAYJNAAA. She desperately want to be seen as being NWOT LOIKE OTHA GARRLLS, but her benchmark for that is just cottagecore content and The Secret Garden.

She knows how to copy things, but not how to do it well. She knows how to lie, but doesn't know how to maintain a convincing lie. So we get her desperately trying to sound naturally like Hermione with her ludicrously mangled Emma Watson accent while she grimaces and twirls through her bombsite of a yard, sloppily imitating whatever poem she heard in a lecture, all in a vlog full of fakery, lies and technical ineptitude.

I don't believe she's intentionally making unhinged, crappy content to get a reaction, she just has no talent or awareness for what good, aesthetically-pleasing content is or how to make it. So she just does a really bad job of imitating other things she's seen and it comes off as completely forced and alien.

She's been rehashing the same handful of bad videos with zero improvement in quality, but gets so much praise from mummy and her fans regardless of how inept and stilted her content is that she can just choose to believe that she's doing a great job and anyone who says otherwise is just a bully.

I would honestly be interested in her thoughts about books as object's or what the term actually means to her other than she likes a cover ect. To me it would make me think about early modern publishing and production in regards to the materiality of the books. I would also consider factors such as literacy and how people engaged with books and perhaps engaged with them.

Instead Ruby seems to use the phrase to make herself look scholarly though I doubt she could say more than a vague sentence if she was asked to expand on it. I do wish that she actually explains why she is interested in something or why she likes something other than it just saying that it's 'cool.'
Every time she mentions ”bocks as OBJACTS” I remember the time she ”tried bookbinding”, as well as the time she randomly painted her copy of The Lais of Marie de France all over with what I can only assume was Tipp-Ex, and I just cringe for her. She’s not good at writing books, she hasn’t convinced me she’s particularly good at reading them, and overall she doesn’t have a great track record of keeping them in good shape.

Her entire life is a low-effort performance at this point. Painting white blobs, changing her bedding for the second time this year, having Mummy cut off almost an entire inch of her hair so we’d stop commenting about how unkempt she looks. She still doesn’t know what a candlestick is. Tipping random, sloppily measured ingredients into an expensive mixer in a dark kitchen where you can’t hear what she’s saying over the clattering and poor Lola barking her head off in the background. “Warm pumpkin milk“ sounds utterly disgusting.

A friend of mine who didn't know much about Ruby (let's say it's not a topic we usually bring up in our friends group) bought herself the academic planner for this year and it came with more than half of it being crushed in the envelope, and therefore unusable. She tried to contact the Pumpkin Productivity support with pictures to ask if she could get a refund but I doubt she will get one, or even an answer, because she will not be able to return it since they ask all returns to be made in "perfect condition".

The envelope was a very flimsy one with thin bubble wrap in it but only on the front and back cover, which means the side weren't protected. I was surprised the planner wasn't sent in a cardboard envelope like the ones used for Amazon and other companies; I myself have a small collection of artbooks from video games and they also usually get sent in these envelopes, and the only time I had an issue due to one book being received in bad condition, I got a new one sent for free.
I feel like the return costs of Pumpkin Productivity not being taken care of are just there to discourage customers to get a refund (especially since my friend had to pay for the customs), that and the fact that you can't really find any proper review of the brand online. Very disappointing yet not surprising at all.
They can put whatever dodgy disclaimers they want in their website T&Cs, but it doesn't circumvent UK consumer law. They're legally required to offer a refund for items delivered damaged or faulty.

If they won't respond, your friend should file a dispute with Paypal/their card provider who will make sure the money's returned. They should also highlight the issue in the Pumpkin Productivity Insta comments to warn others off.

Latest vid posted by Marfa.
Hope they ate all that food and didn’t pile it all up on the table just to stick toys in it for their qUiRkY tiktok video…
And the family idiocy just keeps coming. I'm speechless at the immaturity, wastefulness and outlandish behaviour of all of them. I can't.

Idk I’m not surprised. Her whole identity is based around external validation from teachers and from grades. Remember how devastated she was when she got her first mark back at Exeter? It’s clearly her life source and without it she goes into existential meltdown.
The difference is, most of us learn that there’s more to life than being given a pat on the head. Given the impact it has on her, if I was her, I’d make damn sure I got a first too. Sad, really.

Honestly, it must be killing her that everyone is getting ready to go back to school and she isn't. We all know how much she treasures her childhood days and wants to constantly identify as a student embracing academia, but she never really reached that goal when she was in uni, neither under-graduate or graduate. She was miserable and exhausted. I wonder whom she watches and wishes she were them, back in the good ole days under the safety net of being young? I can't wait to see her have a breakdown as she approaches 30 and is still cowering in her cramped bedroom at her parents or twirling in the backyard muck.

Her dissertation looks to have been a hot mess - if she was finding books four days before it was due, and then ”found an essay that looks to be almost identical to mine” two days before, she has to have been scrambling like mad and had probably either left it too late, or been told it wasn’t good enough and she had to change direction (marigolds! embroidery!). Essays possibly making the same argument you’re making don’t just randomly turn up at the last minute, you’re finding them because either you’ve only arrived at your argument relatively recently, or you’re shit at searching databases.

Also, she will literally pull a can of KOMBYOOOCHA out of a fresh parcel containing a whole case of them that’s obviously been shipped to her, and yet not declare the ad.
