100%! It's an undisclosed PR gift, there's absolutely no doubt about it. The only people who'd believe Ruby would be kids.I'd bet a VARRY VEEGAN CROISSANT that Patricia works at the restaurant and either reached out to Ruby to offer a gifted meal or, being the leeches that they are, Ruby and Jade looked at places to have lunch that week and reached out to the restaurant to beg for a gifted meal in exchange for advertising the place (hence the suspicious mention of emailing the management the day before).
If an actual member of the public/a viewer actually gifted these grifters an £80 lunch when Ruby has a few hundred grand sitting in the bank, they need help.
Our girl likes to have options. A common place notebook, a common notebook, a plain notebook, an ipad pro, a macbook, and other knickknacks such as a typewriter in the Bodleian (she's peculiar).Sorry did she carry macbook AND ipad pro to the library at the same time?? Especially the ipad pro with a keyboard?? Sorry Why not carry the iMac to the library like she did when went back home???
I can't complain, I hope she continues. Her hot mess speeches give me an unpleasant joy. I am experiencing both awe for her self confidence and crushing second hand embarrassment from her lack of self awareness. Stimulating combination.View attachment 2743954

Ruby's taking her embarrassing obsession with only ever showing herself reaching for high shelves in a desperate effort to look like a precocious child to a dangerous new level: She's started to add more climbing apparatus to the equation.
She also claims she's "had a paper accepted to speak at a conference". The last "conference" she was part of was the 'Empowered By Vee' vanity event where her managers made sure half of Sixteenth's creators got to give their own fake TED Talk to an audience of mostly Sixteenth employees and creators to boost their egos.
So either she's making shit up/wildly embellishing things again or she learned absolutely nothing from every disastrous public speaking event she's ever taken part in.
and it's giving the Exorcist.so apparently one of the things Rumbster and Jade (I know her only through Rumbster and you guys) have been talking about a lot is "what it means to live a good life". Ummm, maybe don't be a pretentious and greedy bully who can't say the truth to say your life??? dunno, thought that could be a good place to start. Also, remember your sister's existence at least once in a while?

From her latest tiktok. This is Rumbster at a seminar. Genuinely.

I mean, I'm sorry but she totally reads here and loves all the collages of hers we've been creating (well, not me, but actually talented people on this thread) and she now posts photos just for us. This one is totally taking the p*ss after everything we've said.View attachment 2743954

My boyfriend had a paper accepted to a conference. He's heading off to Canada for it in a bit over a week. I say this because preparing that paper for that conference (despite it being an adaptation of his masters dissertation AND having already been presented at a workshop AND having a full time academic helping him prepare it) consumed almost all his free time for a period of a month or two.View attachment 2743954

I'm imagining the death stares from the doctoral candidates in the bod while she types away at her typewriter in there100%! It's an undisclosed PR gift, there's absolutely no doubt about it. The only people who'd believe Ruby would be kids.

If she did, that would explain her constant moving from one place to anotherMy boyfriend had a paper accepted to a conference. He's heading off to Canada for it in a bit over a week. I didn't even know Ruby was putting out papers to conferences. Has she mentioned it? She never mentioned adapting her bachelor's dissertation, right, so presumably it's "fresh" material. I highly doubt this is an actual academic conference. Unless standards in the humanities really are that dire.

Has anyone watched a discovery of witches? There's a few scenes of the main character talking to another in the Bod and it's really unrealistic because none of the dPhil students are glaring at her. Also the whole thing with her on Christchurch meadow after dark and the vampire guy coming across the Isis from Univ boathouse. Like, he crossed running water at least once, probably 3 times if he did the shortest dry land route from where he was to where she was, is he not a vampire? I reckon Ruby would like the programme though. VERY Dark Academia.
WTF is sleaze academia? I'm definitely getting too old for all these different trends, I can't keep up!Ruby can we see your sleaze academia outfitsView attachment 2744991
Lmao when she nearly got spasms thanking for being hosted by that place. Pathetic it’s 100% clear she got invited by that place. Just say it ffs why would you make a total idiot out of yourself just to try to hide the obvious ad. It’s not worth it.100%! It's an undisclosed PR gift, there's absolutely no doubt about it. It totally is. I speak no Russian as well, but I find it so interesting that they changed the to some extent iconic German titel. Out of curiosity I just googled the translator and there’s a documentary featuring her. So I know what I’m going to watch tonight.OT: I read the "Schuld und Sühne" translation by Josef Hoffmann and liked it, but I have other Dostojewski books in translations by Svetlana Geier, as far as I am aware she translates the title as "Verbrechen und Strafe". It´s the same case with "Die Dämonen"/"Böse Geister"/"Die Bessessenen", same book, different translation of the title. I don´t speak Russian and I´m not an expert in any way, but apparently the original russian can´t be translated exactly into German in those cases. In the case of "Schuld und Sühne" the title is way too morally connotated, whilst the original russian title uses the legal terminology. "Verbrechen und Strafe" on the other hand, which is the german legal terminology, lacks a certain ethical weight which the russian terminology does contain. So I think there´s no right or wrong answer. I personally prefer the title "Schuld und Sühne". All in all a really fascinating topic imo
She's mentioned submitting essays and pieces of writing a few times but been purposefully vague about what she's submitting, where and why. Most of it's amounted to her tossing her bad seagull poems in every direction and hoping someone will publish one or it'll win a competition (naturally, nobody touched any of her poems or fiction with a bargepole).I didn't even know Ruby was putting out papers to conferences. She bragged that she got an "ACADAMMICK ASSAYYY POBBLISHED" a while back, but luck and low standards seemed to have been her friends there, too:

Every piece of academic writing she shares is the same brand of godawful mess, with a few borrowed, disconnected ideas and a bunch of Googled quotes lazily stitched together in one babbling essay with no regard for coherence or a clear through line. I can't see whatever this conference paper is being any different.
Ruby being Ruby, this'll no doubt be a wildly embellished minor vanity event of some kind, like Oxford's 3rd worst hotel agreed to let her use their karaoke mic to read out her essay to whatever guests might be milling around the bar area between the hours of 11am and noon.
Is ChatGPT the new media that can be used to aid education and accessibility Rubes' interesting in? Because it shows. What in the name of incomprehensibility did I just tryand failto read?
