The Wiki explanation for the honorary/“fake” masters thing is probably the best, tbh:

“In the universities of Oxford, Cambridge, and Dublin, Bachelors of Arts are promoted to the degree of Master of Arts or Master in Arts (MA) on application after six or seven years' seniority as members of the university (including years as an undergraduate). It is an academic rank indicating seniority, and not an additional postgraduate qualification, and within the universities there are in fact no postgraduate degrees which result in the postnominals 'MA'.”

This is why the degree Ruby’s doing is actually MSt (not MA) and the parallel course at Cambridge is MPhil. But they are similar to MA courses at other universities. The nine-month length does make these ones very condensed and intensive, though.
Fwiw it's similar in some Scottish unis. An undergraduate degree in the arts is an MA, so a masters degree in the arts tends to be an MSc.

Important lessons being learned by her fans. The lesson not to part with 18.50 for a cheaply produced spiral bound nyyyyotebook that may not even ship.
It seems like her fans never learn a lesson from her. They buy them every year. If they didn't, she wouldn't still have them made and we wouldn't see a bunch of people whining that they aren't receiving them or that something is wrong/missing. Last week I ordered my custom Erin Condren planner. I love the setup and how they appeal to post-education customers. I can choose the front, the colour of the spiral, the setup, what it says on the front cover (name, initials, something else) and use stickers I buy from Happy Planner and Etsy shops to personalize each week. It costs more, but is worth it. I just don't find hers at all attractive and you can buy nicer planners at low prices at any drugstore or bookstore. Barnes & Noble usually have tons of them. I already received mine. Like someone already said, many people in the US have already gone back to school and uni, the rest with the next 2 weeks. Her planner is basically useless to any of them. Too little, too late.

I don't think my boss will give a shit about me not being at my most productive past 1 pm but still, that's a super idea. I'll go and let them know that I'd rather work a 10-1 and still get paid the same salary ✌
Brilliant idea! I'll make sure to ask my boss next time I speak to her. 😂

Did you guys in the UK have those French cartoons that show you how the human body works? They were very popular in Italy and I loved them as a kid, so even as a 5 year old I probably knew that blood carries oxygen to the brain
ooohh I loved that show as a kid. It's on Netflix btw. I should re-watch it.
I don't know if children Ruby's age ... I mean... people born in the early 2000s know that show. I was born in the 80s so I grew up watching "Once upon a time ... Man" and "Once upon a time ... Life". I don't remember the other shows.

Nah they’re just a very common biscuit here in the U.K. - and you can get tea that’s flavoured like them, so I’m guessing that’s what she means. They were created supposedly to aid proper digestion but they’re not a laxative or anything, and now you can get chocolate coated ones or just plain ones. They’re pretty much a biscuit tin staple 🙂
Oh okay. We have a yogurt called Activia here in the US that does the same thing.

There is functionality with Turnitin to spot AI content. https://www.turnitin.com/solutions/ai-writing I imagine it doesn't catch everything though?
I heard teachers are being discouraged from using that feature because when tested it was flagging documents that were actually written by humans very often

I totally see where you’re coming from, @londongirl92 - and it definitely isn’t my intention at all to add to an atmosphere that might pressure Ruby in any direction (I know that’s not what you were saying, I just want to clarify for anyone reading!). I think it’s probably hard for anyone who goes through those identity formation years in the spotlight, even if they’ve chosen to be (especially as the choice is made before the implications can really be known).

For all that I take issue with many things Ruby posts and does, I’m also not without sympathy. Thanks for your very kind reply!

Oh my god thank you, yes! I've hated these pens after giving into the hype and buying them a few months ago. It's such an irritating feel and not smooth at all. My usual go-to pen is either a Muji 0.38 or a Pilot rollerball V5 so I just assumed it was not the right type of pen for me, but Sarasa attempt was an unexpected let down lol.
That's crazy that you like the Muji pens because I've had nothing but hell with them. They always explode, leak etc with me though I did like the tip they were at.

I must be the minority I have the zebra sarasa vintage collection and I quite like writing with them though they are not my favorite. I don't like the 0.7 nib the 0.5 are better but thats my preference.

My favourite are more the papermate ink joy and ive never owned the muji pens

- First 60 seconds: she says zebra sarasa pens are her favorite and they write so nicely. NO! vintage colour series look nice, but they are terrible pens to actually write with. I bought them because of their assthetic and using them genuinely feels like I am carving the letters on a woodblock with a knife. I think this is a good metaphor for her fake and crass persona as well.
