I just watched Ruby’s reaction video and I’m really sorry to see where she is at with things! To be honest, and not to sound braggy (😬), I’ve been there and done that with grades! Top of undergrad class, top grade in masters, completed PhD with nothing lower than an A in coursework etc. I’m at the end of all that now and it seemed so vitally important at the time. But I never had a college night out until I was nearly finished, never did a holiday away with friends or joined and participated regularly in a society. I missed such a massive amount of college life! Then I had a little girl a few months back and realised it really meant nothing at all. I’ll teach my little girl to value her effort, not output. I’ll help her work smart and not hard (like rewriting notes and to do lists again and again!), and I’ll try to help her find some balance!
congrats on everything and especially on your daughter!

I went to one party when I first started uni. But because I'm at least 10 years older than my fellow students I felt a bit awkward, especially since I don't like parties and loud music very much. And my husband (well, boyfriend at the time) didn't want to come with me. he is a few years older than me so it would have been more awkward for him. 😃 I think it's okay to not go to parties at uni, but a bit socialising never hurts. I was part of a student newspaper and sometimes we would go to a bar to drink something and talk. this is more my cup of tea. Sometimes I went for a coffee with the other students between lectures or to the christmas market to get some mulled wine. 😃 *sigh*
but when the pandemic hit and everything was online, I didn't miss anything. I never went to any event again, although I could have done when things were opening up again. It still doesn't feel "save" for me.
If you don't feel comfortable at being at parties, it's okay. I mean, loud and crowded places with sweaty people and sticky feet ... that doesn't sound very funny to me. 😃

She must not have been told she looks skinny in a while, because the ED-baiting is in full force. She takes a cold shower every morning, eats frozen fruit because ”it makes me feel good in myself”, and her newfound love of coffee is probably just a desperate attempt to kick her metabolism out of starvation mode.

I noticed in her video for the 6th July she already ticked off that at 5pm she would post her Italy video, but this was clearly a lie as she hasn't even posted the video as of yet and did she announce the planner launch date on the 6th because I don't remember her doing so. Also I don't get why she is talking about the planner in this video when she posted about the whole planner yesterday.

also the portion sizes.. a drinking glass & a ramekin
Also the amount of granola in her portion (which is arguably the "food" part of the meal as the rest is just frozen fruit) is laughable. It's a teaspoon at most.
I get that some people just can't have food in the morning, I don't even have breakfast when I wake up usually because I'm nauseous and thirsty and I just don't feel like eating, but smoothie bowls and porridge is literally all she eats and if this is the kind of portion she always has...it's not enough food for anyone.
(I know it's not ideal to not have breakfast but I do eat enough I promise lol I have a snack around 11 and I eat real meals unlike Ruby)

SHE DID IT AGAIN FOLKS: focusing on the dead bug!

Seriously though: Why do a cold shower when you can do a warm one with a cold rinse.

Her breakfast was very small. If you compare it with what you see with people who eat a lot of fruit for breakfast (raw vegans, for instance) they usually eat 3-4x the amount of fruit she's used there.

Ugh, pushing the academic planner again? She doesn't manage her own store. She'd have more meetings about it if she did. This was likely a "ok here's the advertising spots we need you to do" meeting. She's pretending like she does here for the ad, but other times she acts like she has almost nothing to do with it. You've had a good experience with your store? Was the 2021 planner debacle a good experience, Ruby?

omg Ruby is using the grimy coffee machine lol.

Point and peck.png

You'd think a writer who loves her old timey typewriter would be better at typing than the old point and peck method. 1 wpm lol. There's no way she actually writes on that, she must just get it out for the aesthetic in videos

I'm just imagining how awkward this would be to film? Like, setting up a camera outside, going into your room, leaning out the window and looking around, then going back outside to take back the camera. It's so unnatural.
Don't forget having your mother operate a drone to film you hanging out of your bedroom window.

7987'-88[89984564099'76575679.jpg

Like, if you're introducing drone filming into your videos, and you live in a lush country manor surrounded by scenic greenery and endless fields, your videos should look better and more professional, even if by accident.

Establishing shots of expansive acres of beautiful nature or swooping in from the sky to ground level, or ending the video with a closing shot of the camera soaring high above the countryside - the video practically makes itself.

The sum total of Ruby's drone photography is getting the same shots of her garden as always, but from 8 inches higher, then blindly cutting the drone shots away to nothing in the editing deck and cramming them alongside the rest of her sloppily-edited mistakes.

And on top of that, I wanted to take six simultaneous showers after watching this video. Her life looks more squalid every time she shows it.

7987'-88[89984564099'76rtyrty575679.png

Ruby "makes the bad" again, by which she means "lazily adjust the duvet a little". When she lifts the duvet up, you can see the the gross sheet that has likely sat unchanged on her bed for weeks/months is covered in little black bits of dirt and debris.

7987'-88[89984564099'76rtyrt79798y575679.jpg

Her mattress is (once again) exposed at both ends and the sheet is hanging completely off the bed, draped all over her filthy floor.

7987'-88[89984564099'76rtyrt79798y57tyuyty5679.jpg

Instead of changing the sheets or adjusting them to fit the bed, she just hides the draping mess of filthed-up bedding by tossing an old, unwashed throw on top of it. She no doubt hopped into this befilthed petri dish of dust and bacteria later that night to sleep in it without a moment's hesitation or cleaning.

Also note the Moleskine notebooks on her bedside table, even though she AWHLWHEYS uses Plonkin' Poddocktivity nyotebooks.

7987'-88[8998099087686809678775557476575679.png

Ruby: "I AWLWHAYS DISINFACT MY ROOM AVVERY SINGLE DAY! I AM VARRY JARMOPHOBIC!"
Also Ruby: (Inserts close-up of an insect corpse smeared all over her window.)

Ruby: "...THAN I gyo outsoiyde to eat moiy brackfast because it's been SYO WARM recently..."
Ruby, that very second: "It was cold."

7987'-88[8998099087686809678775456456557476575679.jpg

Ruby: "I AWLWLWAYS USE MOIY PONKIN PRODDOTRIVITREE NYOTEBOCKS AND PLANNERS AVVERY SINGLE DAY BECAUSE WHEN YOU HAVE A PLONKO'S POTTRITY PLANNER OR NYOTEBOCK YOU NAVVER NEED ANNYTHING ALSE!"
Also Ruby: (Always uses Rhodia and/or Moleskine notebooks everywhere she goes.)

7987'-88[8998099'765657575679.jpg

Literally, one video after she desperately tries to shill her planner, and she uses everything but her own products outside the ad section. She has a vacant lot where her mind should be.

7987'-88[89984564099'76rtyrt79798y50-=0-7tyuyty5679.jpg

She also manages to get her hands covered in food again while eating, even though she only has a tiny serving of "food" from a drinking glass and she has a spoon to eat it with. This is what happens when you spend an awkwardly long time playing with your food for the camera to avoid eating it.

And then she proceeds to read her "latter" and then write her own, rubbing her muck-covered hands all over the paper as she writes to her cherished "frand" who she's never mentioned before.

7987'-88[89984564099'76rtyrt79798y45646450-=0-7tyuyty5679.jpg

That food is still all over her hands in much later footage, along with a bunch more additional crud under her fingernails.

7987'-88[89984564099'76rtyrt79798y456464556750-=0-7tyuyty5679.png

She's apparently doing Camp NaNoWriMo, but she's also missed the point of it entirely.

It's a writing challenge where you write 50,000 words in a month. It's aimed at getting you to stop expecting your writing to be perfect first time around, stop wasting time and putting obstacles in your way with constant editing-as-you-go and just give yourself free license to write and have it be a mess, so that you have a complete work to edit and revise at the end of it.

You can plan and outline your story during the month, but generally people do all that before the month starts so they can just get straight to work writing on the first day of the month, otherwise it's just wasted time.

Naturally, Ruby has missed the point and ducked it already - she's apparently spending the first week of the month just planning to plan, and once again, she wastes more time planning than actually getting things done.

She also appears to be cheating. That or she's writing two books at once on the same day, which is beyond stupid. I'm gonna go with cheating.

See, the main rule of NaNoWriMo is that you cannot include any writing done before the month of the challenge. Planning's okay, but actual writing's a no-go. It's not enforced, but you're cheating yourself if you're not committed to taking part and creating something new for yourself.

Ruby has entries all over her to-do list for writing "Penelope book", and she's doing research on the octopus.

This is just the children's book she wrote for her children's writing module - "Penelope Peppermint and the Silver-Tipped Octopus". She's just recycling it to win the challenge, even though she's only competing against herself.

The twin daughters of her parents' friends are apparently not responding to Ruby's endless unsolicited letters, so Ruby's had enough and is going to toss them on a bonfire.

:ROFLMAO:

the blue smear from her "breakfast" looks a bit like mould (or is mildew the correct word? I think mould fits better).

btw I cleaned the screen of my MacBook today because you always point out Ruby's dirty screen. I should clean it more often.

I just thought I would check out the reviews of Shopify as she mentioned them in the video and I have to say the reviews are quite negative, but there are also some positive reviews, however, it looks like many people who have posted negative reviews are having their money or information stolen.

Screens get dusty. It happens. Nobody needs to clean them every day.

But Ruby gets called out for it because it's one of the numerous things she compulsively lies about.

She constantly claims she AWLWHEYS disinFACTS her DASK, MONITOR, PHONE, ETC., AVVERY SINGLE DAY! When that's clearly just lies and everything she owns is always covered in dust and grime.

And with her laptop, she goes above and beyond to cover it in filth - every single inch of the screen is constantly covered in fingerprints (and dried dirt and god knows what else), even though it's not a touchscreen.

Spent the morning catching up. Basically, she's creepy (associating with children any moment she can) AND disgusting (grimy, unwashed, dusty environment). How is this aspirational for anyone?

I think that's just from when she went to visit their shop for a tour/to meet the staff, it's not a brand crossover.

Ruby will have to get started growing her own 'Victorian Vanilla' flavour tea in her garden.

"Mmm, tastes loike vanilla, with a hint of typhoid!"

Thank god small human is starting primary school in September

With regards to Ruby going back to her old school I keep thinking of the inbetweeners film where the head goes if your thinking of popping back please dont

I haven't been here or followed what Ruby was up to in like, months, but I did watch a week in her life yesterday and it baffles me how her videos seem to now only be an ed diary and somehow NO ONE notices ? Like that Jack guy in the comments being like "Never been so excited to read a book" like first omg shut up you lying sack of sunshine (people who act like they are ALWAYS this happy just rub me the wrong way idk) and also like. This is alarming. People who have been stuck with eds since adolescence usually either wake up between the age of 20 and 23 or struggle with it until they die in their 40s. Are people really this oblivious or is it all I see because I've been there ? I'm genuinely worried.

Edit : I also wanna add that she gave my freaking name to her caracter and I'm now mad that I came back to her content, as I could have gone all my life without this knowledge and be perfectly fine. It's already enough that I can never forget her birthday because she has the exact same as my fiance (like same year and all lmao).

Her commentary on the whole Head Girl/speech thing
Sorry, I've fallen behind a little. But what the hell is this tit? If I wrote this for my English class in eight grade (as someone who's native language obviously isn't English) this might have passed as a worthwhile reflection. But this seems just bizarre to me.
