To be fair, creepy ≠ automatic n, and I don’t think anyone is suggesting that she is one either.
However, Ruby has an extremely unhealthy interest in childhood which has in the past lead her to befriend minors online / encourage younger viewers to contact her, and I just there is always something creepy about an adult who seems to prefer the company of kids over people their own age, regardless of their intentions. She isn’t getting paid to go to her old school, she hasn’t been invited there, and from the way she has spoken about it, it seems like the purpose of her visit is to see students rather than her old teachers.
It's like Michael Jackson befriending children. Even if he said there were no sinister intentions, writing to them, befriending them and liking them for their "innocence" is something I can very much see Ruby doing. Her old school should not be her own version of Neverland.

She's very lucky she's a female in this sense as cannot imagine the (very fair) backlash if she was a male.

Christ...

I have no words. Beyond creepy that she knows and befriends people going into Year 13, who would have been 13 at the time she left. She definitely sees herself as some idol figure to them or some great inspiration. It's actually quite sickening.

I'm 100% sure there's no sexual motive to Ruby's interactions with young teenagers but she's still using young people for her own wish fulfillment under the guise of "helping" or "mentoring" them. It's not for their benefit, it's entirely for hers.

I never knew being head girl is such a big deal in the UK? in my home country we have something like head boy/head girl, but I would say 90% of students don't care at all who that is, is it really true that most student look up to "their" head girl?

It's not such a big deal. When you're in school perhaps and may help with your UCAS applications to get into uni but as soon as you've left, nobody cares. I certainly wouldn't be putting it on job applications or as a crowning life achievement.

Ruby sees it as her peak in life though. She had younger pupils looking up to her, teachers probably bonding with her and she received the constant praise and validation she didn't get when she left. This is the reason she's going back and clinging onto it: it makes her feel important.

Not really. At my school we had a head girl and two deputies and although it’s was a long and hard process to be appointed, once the novelty of being awarded the position wore off none really cared. We had a couple of sixth form events which the head girls organised and they ran school counsel meetings but often nothing really came of them. The biggest change a head girl made was having a slide show of the week’s headlines shown every Friday. I can’t imagine Ruby actual had an impact as head girl beyond holding herself to a higher standard than her peers.

just to reiterate what others have said it really isn't it just looks good when you go off to college and maybe uni, I went to a comprehensive so obviously it might be different but all I remember my head girl doing was giving a really long speech at prom and making us say grace despite not being a religious school and I can't remember a thing about the head girls before her. My bf was head boy and said the same, you might help with the odd assembly and visitor but beyond that there's nothing much to it but I guess Ruby hasn't achieved much outside of school so she's clinging to it.
Speaking of, in her old school vlogs she mentions doing her head girl emails...can anyone shed light on what that would involve because I asked my bf (who as I said was head boy) and he looked puzzled when I asked what emails would involve

As an American, the only association I have with the head boy/girl position is from one of the early Harry Potter movies when a bunch of students are crowded around and Percy Weasley is coming through saying, “excuse me, I’m hEaD BoY.” Seemed like a role people didn’t really take seriously except for the person in it

I'm just imagining how awkward this would be to film? Like, setting up a camera outside, going into your room, leaning out the window and looking around, then going back outside to take back the camera. It's so unnatural.

I’m sure she has Mother Granger helping her with the filming, and they’re also using the drone.

It'd be better if they got rid of the scale in the bathroom or if only her parents had access to it. We've discussed whether her family is doing anything against her eating habits but I don't think this scale will help.

Facts, Ruby isn’t going back to her school to give talks out of the kindness of her heart, she wants to do it because there is something about doing it which makes her feel really good. Whether it’s about enjoying being surrounded by young people and pretending she is still a kid, or whether it’s about massaging her ego and boosting her superiority complex, it’s 100% all about her.

Also guys, I’m begging you, if you wear weekly / biweekly contact lenses please for the love of god, put the lid back on your solution when you’re done with it 😭😭 if you leave it off like dirty Ruby, you’re just creating a breeding ground for microorganisms and putting yourself at risk of infection…

I just watched Ruby’s reaction video and I’m really sorry to see where she is at with things! To be honest, and not to sound braggy (😬), I’ve been there and done that with grades! Top of undergrad class, top grade in masters, completed PhD with nothing lower than an A in coursework etc. I’m at the end of all that now and it seemed so vitally important at the time. But I never had a college night out until I was nearly finished, never did a holiday away with friends or joined and participated regularly in a society. I missed such a massive amount of college life! Then I had a little girl a few months back and realised it really meant nothing at all. I’ll teach my little girl to value her effort, not output. I’ll help her work smart and not hard (like rewriting notes and to do lists again and again!), and I’ll try to help her find some balance!

The new drone footage just screams priviledge. She uses the drone to film a static image of trees, or herself in the window. She clearly does not know how to use it to the full extent. Maybe she's just learning the ropes, so i'll give her that, but the drone footage is so uninspired and basically looks the same as the footage she took on her ground camera.

Also her shower is the size of my bathroom:oops:
