You know what's weird? How Ruby is posting her starved body and her tiny food portions all over the internet. I know she's an influencer so having an online persona is basically her job but still. When I was in the throes of my ED, I was so ASHAMED of how (as I saw it) large, disgusting, and utterly shameful my body looked. I hated my photo having taken, I'd choose the baggiest outfits to hide my body, I avoided people and would have never dreamed of putting my body and food all across instagram. Ruby knows EXACTLY what she's doing and how she's looking and making people worried. And she likes it.

I understand that people see this as hypocritical. But please be aware that more than 70% of CO2 emissions come from only 100 companies. The individual carbon footprint is literally created by BP, an oil company. We need system change, not only individuals doing the best they can
Fair enough, but like you say individuals need to do the best they can too - and part of that is trying not to support the actions of those companies through consumption. I acknowledge we’re all hypocrites about climate change but I can’t really take Ruby seriously on this when she’s Buckinghamshire’s equivalent to Leonardo DiCaprio (serious issues with conspicuous consumption and a penchant for much younger female friends …)

Ruby wrote: "She tends to stand apart from her peers at school and from her family at home"
Such a surprise that she then went onto write a book where she bombards the reader about how much better her self-insert character is compared with her "peers" and her little brother.

I can only hope the dynamic between her and Martha growing up wasn't actually like that. I'd hate to think Martha grew up thinking her identity was "the not-academic daughter" because of Ruby deliberately and repeatedly calling attention to her excessive studiousness in an effort to set herself apart from Martha.

Seems a bit random but this outfit looks okay. I wonder if her management sorted out a stylist for the night or something?

I'm so surprised by her outfit choice as it's not very Ruby! But good on her for not looking like a Victorian child.

I've said it before, but Ruby has infinitely more in common with Harry Wormwood than Matilda. Both are dishonest swindlers, both are demeaning and dismissive of people they deem beneath them, both have a massively inflated sense of self-importance, and both are running ongoing scams knowingly selling faulty goods at inflated prices.

It's also hilarious that Ruby says she admires Matilda questioning adult voices and making up her own mind when Ruby has never had an independent thought in her life and takes everything she reads or hears from academics as gospel.

It's also super telling that yet again, for Blakeney's birthday present, Ruby gave Blakeney something Ruby herself wanted rather than planning something thoughtful for Blakeney.

Seems a bit random but this outfit looks okay. I wonder if her management sorted out a stylist for the night or something?

Note the bag she's holding is a promotional gift bag handed out full of free swag, which will be the only major reason (along with the inflated sense of self-worth she'll get from being around semi-famous people she doesn't know) she attended.

Sixteenth: "Anyone free Friday and want to attend a Netflix premiere event for Anatomy of a Scandal? There'll be famous people and free stu--"
Ruby: "FREE STUFF?! (Shoves her hand in the air) OOH, OOH, ME!ME!ME! I DO, I DO, I DO! I knyow ALL about scandals, AND my Yahhr 7 science teacher said that OIY...was VARRY knowledgeable about mammal anatomy because OIY...knew EXACTLY whahhr the heart is lyocated! Syo this Anatomy Scandal documentary series will be SYO GUD! It's probably moi most FAVOURITE series that I've just heard about!"
Sixteenth: "A simple "yes" would suffice..."

Her posture looks a little odd in that dress, if she'd hold herself more confidently, she'd look incredible. But it's understandable, it's totally out of her comfort zone

It seems like such a ‘grown-up’ thing for Ruby to be invited to - Anatomy of a Scandal seems to be about political and sexual intrigue and that seems so far out of Ruby’s comfort-zone. And I’m really, really surprised to be dressing in a more age-appropriate way. I can’t quite work out why her agency got her this gig at all.

What was she doing at a Netflix premiere? That's unexpected. I agree that she looks really good in that photo, but her style is so different from what she normally wears I wouldn't be surprised if someone else chose it for her.

It may also be due to make up, lighting and the camera that was used to take that photo.

I'm 99% certain she had a stylist

I thought the same thing- if she stood up straight she’d look way more comfortable. I don’t have room to talk, I have little self confidence but I always try to remind myself to stand up straight because it really does make a huge difference

I’m honestly so happy for her that she ventured out of her comfort zone for even just one night.

She looked gorgeous in that dress! Good for her honestly. I think she’s becoming less repressed? She’d have never worn that a few years ago.

Notice the tiny (gifted event) text in the top right. That said, I do agree that it's good to see her out of her comfort zone, trying something new.

There’s a rather scathing review of Anatomy of a Scandal in the Guardian this morning - amongst other things, the review mentions it’s partly set in Oxford, it has over-loud, intrusive music, it has scenes filmed at weird angles and it has lots of badly written, stilted dialogue. It’s all becoming clear now why Ruby liked it.
