Seriously though, that video could have come from any point in Ruby’s timeline. There’s literally been no personal development in the past what, seven or eight years? That’s a bit sad, in lots of ways.

7 drafts of her UG dissertation is nearly the same number of words as my eventual PhD Thesis (80,000). Good Lord, Measles Mumps and Rubella, that is not the way to do it.

I can’t get over that she went with her dad, when every other ‘studytuber’ there came solo - not just that, but people she knows! Even if her dad was in London, from the looks of her stories so was her mum? So why didn’t her parents do something for the day and let Ruby be an independent adult for once!

I was in so much confusion and disbelief over the literal garlic bread that I googled "raw garlic on bread" and lo and behold, there is an actual recipe for this! Apparently the idea is to toast the bread and then rub the raw garlic on the bread so that the taste rubs off. It's also advertised as having "no added fat" so maybe that played a role in Ruby's thought process (?) as well.

My doctoral course told us that none of the women could get pregnant during the 3 year course. Said in jest but with a stern warning beneath the surface. Edit - this was 15 years ago but still shocking at the time.

Oh no, it was just Ruby staring into space for 30 minutes pretending to be PRODOCKTIVE. I was hoping for actual content to cringe at.
Add "real-time" to the list of words/terms that Ruby does not understand the meaning of (that or she thinks her audience are complete morons).
So, real-time footage is exactly that: recorded in real time, presented uncut and uninterrupted.
Ruby has multiple hard-cut edits in this 30 minute video.
We hard cut from this:

She couldn't even bothered to even attempt to match the cut. Her repositioning the camera just makes it especially obvious that she took a break to change angles and edited it out.
Then at the end of that section, she cuts from this:

She's tried a little to match the cut this time, but it's still off. Note the paper position.

Again, she's half-assedly tried to match her position for the cut, but it's off. And she didn't consider the angles at all; half the angles show the position of where the camera would be in the previous shot, and there's no camera there - this very clearly isn't a real-time, multi-camera setup where she just switched between angles for the final edit.
So self-proclaimed productivity queen Ruby couldn't even summon the motivation to sit for even 30 uninterrupted minutes to study, but still wanted to impress her fans with lies and claimed this was "real-time". How pathetic and shameless do you have to be?

I imagine it'll be exactly the same, only she'll replace studying with writing and she'll transplant all her bad habits from academia onto being an aspiring bestseller.
She'll still be staring at laptops and showing clocks ticking for entire videos. She'll brag about how many thousands of words she's written in a single day and how much she's "ree-saarched", while showing nothing. She'll continue pretending she's been reading tonnes of books, while never talking about their contents. There'll still be creepy, childish nonsense as she twirls in fields gazing in wonder at rainclouds and mud puddles. There'll still be endless routine videos. She'll still lie her ass off, never eat and run non-stop ads (mostly undeclared).
The only difference is that instead of crying like a baby over the occasional lower-than-expected grade, she'll be getting slammed by rejection after rejection from publishers. Even for talented authors (which she's certainly not) that's part of the process and she's not remotely equipped to deal with it.
She'll go full mental breakdown before summer's over, if her dissertation grade doesn't steamroll her first.

I just came around to watch Ruby's latest videos (and I wish I hadn't), so I am a little late to the party but there is this one thing that bothers me to the absolute maximum and it is her refusal to learn to pronounce the name Ludovico Einaudi (it's at 3:03 in the video), despite featuring this poor man's dreamy music in almost all of her playlists. I am not Italian, nor do I speak Italian, but even I have a pretty good idea on how it is pronounced, but just to be sure I invested 20 seconds to google it to find this:
she pretends to LAHVE studying and learning things, so why not to do the absolute bare minimum to learn how to pronounce the name of people you talk about. It is called decency ffs.
Her absolute oblivion when it comes to any words/names/pronunciations that are not english is so very cringey and anglocentric and speaks a lot about her horizon (social, literary and otherwise).
And I am not saying that you need to be able to pronounce every name or word in every language from scratch, but if you mention a person in your video and feature their art, then do your research instead of butchering their name. This annoys me so much because it is not the first time he has done it with Einaudi, she refused to say his name in a different video before

I doubt she will and I hope she doesn’t. Mainly because it’s apparently rented out and as someone who rented for many, many years, I would be so annoyed if she turfs someone out of their ‘home’ so that she can pretend she’s going to live there. We all know she probably wouldn’t even last a night and whilst I’m not in favour of landlords, I’m much less in favour of someone having to uproot their life so that Ruby can fanny about playing with a real-life doll’s house.

Not quite sure how Ruby is able to declare if the show is "honestly groundbreaking" or not when she's watched like 3 TV shows in her life and won't have any knowledge or point of comparison.

This is all part of her endless regression into childhood shtick. Ruby's staring at the gates of a random building in Oxford as though she's staring at the gates of Neverland. In her mind, she's forever a kid dreaming to go into Oxford and believing she's got a place there because she made it to headgirl at school.
And I get, we're all scared of growing up and being an adult is straight up exhausting but you know what?! Ruby's had SUCH a leg up into her adult life, she has no financial worries whatsoever, an extended family to help her out. She owns her own property ffs. She doesn't realise how lucky she is when most of us had to claw our way through uni and up into adult life. God, I hate her sometimes.bigreputation

It seems like such a ‘grown-up’ thing for Ruby to be invited to - Anatomy of a Scandal seems to be about political and sexual intrigue and that seems so far out of Ruby’s comfort-zone. And I’m really, really surprised to be dressing in a more age-appropriate way. I can’t quite work out why her agency got her this gig at all.
A significant portion of her viewers also seem to be middle-aged or elderly women for some reason?
