I’m not defending her by any means, and we are here to snark, but I’m wondering what kind of a disclaimer would be sufficient? I honestly don’t think there’s anything she could say that could entirely undo her privilege, but what grade do we give her for effort? Asking for myself, too, because I feel like I’m a bit BEC about her these days, and that’s not necessarily a way I want to be.

It's probably the only thing she's ever done that was in any way rebellious, so she goes back to that every time someone asks. It's not exactly 'reverting expectations' though, is it? Most young children are naughty in some way (stealing, hitting, running away, answering back) before they learn what's socially acceptable - it's not that she chose to behave badly, more that she didn't know any better.

Nah ngl I actually love the presentation outfit, its funny but I’d actually genuinely have so much respect someone who had the balls to turn up to university dressed like that and give a full presentation. Presentations are stressful and that adds some humour to it, I know funny is probably not the angle shes going for at all there, but idk. I think this loads. Its the kind of thing you can only do if you don't have to worry about heating costs to warm your room / house up afterwards. We have to be really careful about when and how long we have the heating on because we can't afford to whack it on whenever we want... theres no way I'd open a window wide in December because I'd be cold for the rest of the day.

I lived in a caravan for 3 years, its basically like living in a giant tin can and the cold traumatized me I swear. I would literally wake up with ice INSIDE the windows, had chilblaines all the time etc and its just like nah whenever I see these people who never had to deal with that level of cold romanticizing winter in general, my eyes just roll back in my head. I mean yeah its cute and all but its only nice when your family can afford heating lmao

Judging by that book she self published (Erimentha Parker etc), non-existent. Literally typos everywhere, ever there/their/they're was wrong, it was embarrassingly bad. The kind of bad where it genuinely seems like she hasn't asked anyone (not even parent or friend) to proofread it.

as someone who is currently living in a static caravan, THANK YOU haha (especially for mentioning the ice on the windows lol)! I was just about to post saying how romanticising the cold is hard to watch. I *have* to open my windows every day to air out the van to avoid damp. The windows are single-glazed so don’t keep heat in.
I’d love to be able to pay to heat the van as much as I’d like (aka so it isn’t a freezing bubble) but I can’t.
its not “aesthetic” to be cold in winter. It’s a reality that too many people with low-incomes will know only too well.

I wouldn’t even be so frustrated about it if Ruby was paying for her own heating bills (like if she was living alone) because if she wanted to throw her money away by paying for heating while having windows open then so be it, but something about her doing it when she’s not even responsible for paying for the heating rubs me the wrong way. Idk.

I was definitely told this when I started university in 2016, I study History and in our induction we were told that you probably wouldn't hit 80 as an undergraduate, but anything above this mark was publishable. I remember in one of Ruby's older videos, where she got her first essay back when she was doing Theology (I think it was Theology she did first?), she mentioned being told that you wouldn't get 100% at university and said she was struggling with that a bit because she was used to getting 90s in her A-Level essays. I don't know if she struggles with this still, but I do think she compare her grades at university to her A-Level grades a lot, potentially seeing marks up in the 70s as low in comparison, whereas they're actually really good grades.

I agree that she's stuck in that A-Level mindset of wanting a near perfect score, but that's quite worrying in her third year of university study. It's quite an easy concept to grasp and adapt to after your first assignment or two.

I have a family member who went to Oxford. He isn't "naturally clever" and had to work super hard to get in.

It was his teachers who pushed him to apply. He was surprised when we got a place.

He has his degree now and did very well.

What is inspiring about him is that he had to work super hard to get in and stay on the course. Also, it's freshing that he's honest about how hard it was, etc.

I think Ruby could learn a lot from him.

Yeah it's weird, the companies he's director for are all over the country - east sussex, buckinghamshire, middlesex
ANDif you search either of their names they come up as effectively multiple different people on companies house. It could just be where the companies are based, hence the 'correspondace address' though but I don't know

To add to the conspiracy...one of his companies (names after their surname) is a finance company based in the British Virgin Islands tax fraud anyone? I'm joking haha but I don't understand much about all the businessy stuff though so I could just be running away with this info into my own little fantasy world.

I can understand going by a fake surname as she's someone who is in the public eye and has a large following online, especially someone as young as her but it's a bit cringe she's still playing along with the whole granger thing Especially as someone pointed out earlier, her professional profile on linkedin uses her fake name too - thats not a good impression for future employers at all!

This is quite horrible but I’ll be honest. I think she knows exactly what she’s doing showing the small portions etc. She obbsessdly researched anorexia, and I think she’s deliberately trying to look smaller and only show small meals so people believe she has an eating disorder.
I wonder if she still attends therapy, she mentioned it in a vlog once
