I think that's probably true to some extent, although I have seen people do readathons and still produce proper analysis, so I'm not sure it's the only reason. But did also find it striking that she seems to like everything she reads - she said she thinks it's because she knows what types of things she likes now, but I'm going with the "easily pleased" option personally.I think the fact that she reads books all in one go probably contributes to why she loves all of them, she gets swept up in the story and doesn't absorb enough to think critically about it.
God the pronunciation killed me. I'm aware it's probably a somewhat pretentious thing to criticise her for, but holy tit how can she not have heard it said out loud before??? The TV show ran for ages, and those books are such staples of British literature I'm baffled as to how she's never heard the name before. Also she seriously sounded like a small child with all her attempts.
Did anyone else think her review system sounded really strange? 5 stars for a book which she criticised for not liking the ending, compared to a book which she didn't really give any clear criticism for, but gave 3 stars? Maybe she just like the idea of Pine more - child narrator and an opportunity to sit in the freezing cold...
