With regards to the weird porridge, It might be her way of combining breakfast and lunch together so she doesn't have to eat two different meals :(

Or she's just lost the plot. Have it with more milk and a bit of sugar and call it a day.

I was just randomly reminded of Roobee’s courgette porridge five minutes ago… as I went to clean the kittens’ litter box. I use instant oats (they’re the cheapest lol) while they’re still having the occasional little taste as they do their business, and when the oats clump up, the texture is precisely as gluey and gross as Roobee’s breakfast looks. If she put raisins or other little surprise nuggets in hers, they would be identical. (Also I’m pretty sure my kittens eat more than she does 😂)

All of this looks "impressive" until you realize she has merely copied and pasted from Wikipedia. The sentence about "adult feasting" is word-for-word out of Wikipedia, and probably most or all of the rest, too.

(Catching up so sorry for the probable incoming double post as I'm still only on p 26 lol)

What is super frustrating is how EASILY Ruby COULD have made the title (or even basis) of that dissertation into a viable, Literature-centred piece of work. Christmas was undoubtedly a huge phenomenon within the Nineteenth Century and 19th C lit- 'Twas the Night Before Christmas was published in 1823, after all.

She could focus on:
  1. How Christmas traditions were established through popular fiction or poetry in 19th Century Anglo-American Lit
  2. The Victorian Christmas ghost story tradition
  3. Victorian Children's poetry and Christmas
  4. Christmas-themed periodicals and how they promoted various ideas between the classes

Like this is such a short and rushed list because I'm tired and it's a bad MH day but C'MON RUBY IT WOULD BE SO EASY ARAOIJFAOFASOIFDJASFO

What a horrible, boring, pointless video.
Not going to comment on the porridge because ew.
The bags under her eyes are shocking.
Her nails are disgusting looking.
The video quality -as usual- is terrible.
I think I rather study than watch another second …

I was scrolling through Ruby's tagged pictures and it seems like some poor soul decided to make an account of "aesthetic" screenshots from Ruby's videos.

Then they have this picture of Ruby staring into our soul through the camera

I still need to watch the video . . . I'm curious as to whether she will analyse aspects of Father Christmas in the context of "scarier" European St Nicholas traditions (where Nicholas travels with demons). I always thought the externalised representation of the dualistic "duties" (reward & punishment) of Father Christmas seemed older: there's something nice about having two separate beings for these two duties. It's less complicated theologically and philosophically. Yet I was thinking just now that this might purely be the result of amalgamation: stranger pagan traditions had to be folded somehow into the narrative of a saint giving gifts, so instead of allocating the punishment duties straight to the saint, the demons got to tag along with him instead. Well, I'll just watch it. I'm sure it will be frustratingly shallow.

You can find European/Alpine Christmas traditions from the same time period by searching Krampus & Nicholas. A little horror with your Christmas? Why not . . . Actually some explanations state explicitly that Nicholas and Krampus live together year-round.
Around christmas time you can sometimes find Krampus & Nikolaus chocolates in Lidl! I still have mine (couldn't bring myself to eat them, the Krampus was just too cute lol)

I am absolutely certain I saw her respond to a comment a couple of weeks ago of someone telling her to try reading Spanish poetry, cheeky how she’s taken that idea and used it for an ad 🤣

I just watched the section with her breakfast and the amount of times she was chewing each bite really stood out to me, despite how she sped it up. She needs help.
THIS! No one can chew porridge that much, it is already soft. Btw long time lurker here, I enjoy reading your comments so much that’s why I follow Ruby lol

Hi! I've never thought I'd make my way into a gossip forum, but oh well. :poop:
I started watching Ruby about 4 years ago, when I was in my first year of uni (I'm med student in Poland). I was watching a lot of study content in yt, trying to learn how to actually learn effectively. Of course now I can see Ruby's way of learning is about as not effective as possible. A lot of busy work for the sake of busy work, a lot of passive learning, re-writing things endlessly. I'm a bit shocked that she doesn't see it and doesn't optimize her work at all. And as a person who has periods of time when studying A LOT is the only way I think what she's showing to her audience is dangerous. It's completely unsustainable, leaves very little time for family, friends, hobbies and some simple free time to do nothing. It may work when you have a workload of a 12th year old, but rewriting notes for aesthetic at 21 is stupid. Everyone is different, I'm an introvert myself, but I can imagine Ruby looking back at those years in the future and remembering only the desk at ther childhood home. I just hope teenagers who watch and idolize her will also come across different channels.

Ok that video was just absurdly boring. I did however get a chuckle out of her letter writing - one letter was one nice looking letter paper, the other was written on something torn from a notepad. Do we think there's some sort of hierarchy in her friendships for who gets letters on fancy paper v bog standard notepaper? If you pissed her off, would the quality of the letter paper suddenly go down?

Also question for anyone who knows: how do diss proposals for English at Exeter work? How detailed is it meant to be, and how often do proposals get rejected? Is it necessary for her to be doing as much work on it at this point as she is? When I did mine I literally just had to pop an email to the coordinator saying "this is the area I want to look at" and that was it, I assume Exeter requires more than that?

she shouldn’t be showing videos or photos of her food if it’s that restrictive. i’m in recovery from an ed and that was triggering to see. it’s actually just dangerous. i can empathise but i have zero respect.

It would be awfully tempting, if I were an evil person, to turn it into some kind of game to make increasingly subversive suggestions for things Ruby to do in the comments and see if she presents them a couple of weeks later as her own idea.

Mildly obsessed with the irony of that bowl saying "PLEASE SIR I WANT SOME MORE".. it's such a tiny amount of porridge.

I didn't/don't study at Exeter, but in my experience generally - dissertation proposals can be rejected for 3 main reasons:
1) The proposal topic is outside of the academic interests of the course (e.g. English Literature) or does not align with the interests of supervising staff and therefore can't be supervised appropriately;
2) The proposal subject requires pre-requisite knowledge or experience of a certain area which the student doesn't have e.g. proficiency in a particular language, prior study in a semi-related area (e.g. history) etc.
3) The proposal describes a project/dissertation which would take too long/too little time to complete given the allocated duration of the dissertation work (because the project's scope is too broad or too niche for example)

Q: Did Ruby get a nose job? In her most recent video, something about it looks... sculpted and as if it was sewn? By the way, this is just a question of observation not anything else.

The sheer irony and lack of self-awareness in everything she does is off the charts.

I mean, just today she's claiming an interest in learning new languages despite a storied history of barely understanding English, her first language. Focus on one thing at a time, Ruby. And drop the "I really love [insert random thing Ruby has never done or mentioned before, but now has a sudden interest in because she's being paid to]" bull.

Her obligatory occasional "motivational" post is essentially "Hey, don't worry about stressing yourself out completing everything on your to-do list today! Take a rest day. Then immediately get back to stressing about it tomorrow!"

Her new video, a mind-bending timewarp of bizarre continuity errors, starts off with her talking about "the Hungry Forties" while Ruby coincidentally starves herself with a tiny sliced apple.

Ruby also mentions improvements in public health and sanitation in the 1800s, while she sits in a house held together by grime and squalor, in a room that's overrun with dust and dead flies, near a bed with sheets that have gone unchanged for months.

We also get the immortal line "I wanted to share a day in my life with you as I feel like it's been a long time since I've done one." This is her third "day in the life"/routine video this month.

Zero self-awareness and no grasp of reality whatsoever.
