I get that she’s trying to be “aesthetic” here but does it bother anyone else how she’s piled everything on top of one another under the guise of being extra productive? “I must read the ny times at the same time as dickens, and write to do lists on paper, in my planner AND on a notepad that I’m also using as a coaster!!”
Not to mention that the candle is in danger of setting her desk alight as she’s essentially made the whole thing as flammable as possible. But of course remember to keep all of your notes in one place! And buy the planner which has EVERYTHING a student could need, which is why I have a thousand other notepads around me at all times!

I'd be paranoid setting my cup of tea down on a soft surface like a notebook, next to all my notes, my book, my planner and my computer, and within a radius where I could easily knock it over with my arm and flood my entire desk.
I presume the piling up is to get everything in the shot to get it looking extra scholarly.

Tbh I think making lists is her hobby, I used to do that in middle school - write what and when I am going to do when I get home. I did it just for fun and did not actually follow it lol. But making a list just feels nice
However, this should not be an example of productivity or how people should live, if you enjoy making random lists, that's fine! But please don't say that we need to do this to be "productive", treat it like a quite weird/random hobby

Honestly, I think it'd be fair if she never mentioned periods on her channel - fear of becoming an adult or potential ED red flags aside, it's not a topic that everyone would wanna share to an audience of potentially 100k or more. But her idea of the emergency kit (if that's something she actually did and didn't just film for the sake of busywork) showed one (1) singular period pad - I know if I suddenly get my period while I'm out all day, one pad isn't going to last
you'd think it's worth taking a few, especially so you don't have to replace it so often. (Potentially bordering on nitpicky as this was only a few seconds worth of footage, but I'm petty)I've seen her last video and I had to stop at the 1:30 minute. I mean, maybe it's bc I study engineering and it's a different type of studies but how u r supposed to do your work before uni starts if they have to teach u how to do it? and then, autumn it is not around the corner, why she doesn't enjoy spending time without studying? What is she going to do after uni? I can't understand her vision of life...
I agree I'm doing a nursing degree can't really read up on what will come on to the ward in six months and prepare my assignment paper on what happened

How many times have we seen this exact shot? I can't think of any particular videos it's shown up in, but the fact that she's going into her final year of university and still reusing this one clip of school says a lot. (It's in the first few seconds of the video). There's also a lot of reused footage with Blakeney and Molly, clips of her studying, and shots of the planner. I really think she put together most of the intro without actually filming anything new.
Because I hate myself and I have too much time on my hands, I'm going to try and sum up the 35 things -
It's divided up into four parts - academic, organisation, lifestyle, and 'fun'.
(Side-note: she repeats the phrase 'do X so you don't have to worry about doing X later' so many times)
Academic - 'because obviously that is probably the most important bit'
1. 'look through your course information and familiarise yourself with the classes you're taking' - make Notion pages, basically
2. 'start doing some pre-reading and actually prepare academically' - do all your work for week 1.
3. 'do at least one piece of critical extra reading' - already making more work for herself. The clip here (1:30) is of her writing 'Empire of Liberty' which I think was one of her modules last year?
4. 'set up your academic planner' - a planner advert, of course.
5. 'set up your folders - if you're going to be using folders. Or Notion, if you're going to be using notion'.
6. 'set goal grades' for each of your subjects and 'make a note of how you can achieve them' - and write them down in youracademic planner
7. 'put your key dates in your calendar - deadlines, term dates...'
8. 'look through your notes from last year' - declutter
9. 'back up key documents in a second location in case you lose them' (good shout, I'll give her that)
10. 'familiarise yourself with last years notes' - feat. another reused clip of sixth form (3:39)
Organisation -
11. get rid of any stationery that isn't working - 'obviously you have no use for a pen that doesn't work'
12. make a shopping list to go stationery shopping (with....... stationery, I guess?)
13. clean out your schoolbag from last year
14. wipe out your bag with 'cold water and soap' - this is 'quite nice to do on occasion'
15. pack your bag, and write down what you want to keep in it (pointless busywork, anyone?)
16. pack your pencil case, as above. She says she used to write down a list of stuff in her pencil case and 'every month' she would 'cross-reference' it with the stuff that was actually in her pencil case.
17. 'label things' - school jumpers, pencil cases, etc
18. make a 'school emergency kit of things you might need' - period pads, lipbalm, deodorant, etc. Surely that's just things that are useful to have in your bag in general?
19. 'do some decluttering'
20. 'clean your bedroom thoroughly' - hoover under your bed, she says! Because apparently cleaning is a great way to 'mark in a new mindset'.
21. a 'digital declutter'
Lifestyle -
22. write down some 'easy lunch or dinner ideas' - feat reused footage of tiny portions
23. write down some 'good study snacks' - one of hers is 'mug of peas' (6:51 for anyone who wants to screengrab the whole thing)
24. make sure you have 'dry snacks' in the house that are easy to transport - have a 'designated snack box' for food to eat during the day
25. write down your 'ideal day' - morning and night routines, etc. feat. reused footage from said morning and night routines
26. write down what extracurriculars you want to sign up for
27. write down what you want to 'do and achieve' before the end of term
28. make some playlists on spotify - one study playlist full of classical music, and one motivational playlist
29. plan out five daily outfits so that you don't 'waste time thinking about what to wear' and then write them in Notion holy tit this girl's capacity for inane busywork (list at 9:00 if you want a laugh)
Fun, finally!
30. Read a 'long book you won't have time for during the school year'
31. print some photos to put up in your university room to 'reflect on memories from the summer'
32. 'make a list of the things that make you happy, so you can look over them when you're stressed'
33. make an aesthetic Pinterest board to get 'motivated and excited' about school - 'just really channel that motivation!'
34. 'penultimately, take a day off entirely!' feat. reused footage of twirling in fields
35. spend time with friends and family, make the most of seeing people, etc
This might be the thread's most boring post yet but I got halfway in and then sunk-cost fallacy forced me to see it through, I apologise in advance
The rehashed B-roll is no surprise. Ruby has no interest in YouTube and zero creativity or drive to come up with new ideas, and filming something new risks shining more of a light on her weight loss, so she'll keep reusing old footage and putting in less effort as time goes on. We've already seen her give up on adding narration and ambient music in recent videos because post-production is too much effort for her. But she only has a finite amount of old footage to pull from, so it'll get more obvious, too.
If I were Blakeney or Molly, I'd start charging revenue for likeness usage in these videos.
Her entire list is full of things that are incredibly stupid, a complete waste of time, and things she's proven she doesn't do herself.
"Only use one note-making system, like Notion." Meanwhile Ruby shows herself using a disorganised hellscape of redundant notebooks, lists and repeated information on a daily basis.
"Use Notion and an academic planner!" I thought I was only supposed to use one note/organisation system, Rubes? And didn't you claim that your academic planner was designed from the ground up to include everything a student needs to be organised? So why're you still using Notion, Post-Its and what-not? Don't tell me you lied (yet again) to shill your crappy product that you had almost no hand in designing! I am shocked! Say it ain't so, Ruby!
And the irony in telling people to be prepared and plan weeks in advance when you're announcing that you still haven't released a digital copy of your planner for sale... Nothing like waiting until your product is obsolete and potential buyers have bought alternatives before actually releasing it. Nobody should be taking this dipshit's advice on anything.
"Do all your reading weeks and months before you need to!" Maybe it's me, but I'd have forgotten most of what I read by the time it came to discussing it if I did that. The reading list isn't meant to be read eons in advance. It's meant to be read relatively close to the lectures/seminars so that it's fresh in your mind when it comes to discussing it. You've proven time and time again that your mind is a sieve with ever-expanding holes in, Ruby - don't go giving yourself more things to forget when you're already struggling to remember how to speak.
"Do extra critical reading to stay ahead of the game!" Meanwhile, third year uni student Ruby shows herself taking six lectures on Massolit - a platform aimed at A-level and below learners.
"Set goal grades." Don't do this. It's more toxic productivity from someone who cries like a baby when she doesn't get the grades she believes she's entitled to. Focus on doing the best you can and take pride in the work and don't set expectations for grades. Don't be like Ruby, whose work process is a mess of wasted time and busywork and impossible expectations all feeding future therapy bills.
She's the absolute worst.
If I saw that in person from someone claiming to be organised, I'd say two things:
1. Okay, now try typing something.
2. Do you think you were a little premature ticking off 'Declutter' on that to-do list considering everything in front of you?

I get people love Ruby and look up to her but some comments are concerning. Like I saw one person saying "this makes me feel like I don't deserve uni"
I don't know if they mean they are already at uni and feel like a failure because they don't take Ruby's over the top advice, or if they mean they have hopes of going to Uni and think "wow, if this is what everyone does there's no way I'd survive"
