Everything she eats looks so bland and boring... She used to talk about food with a lot of interest and passion, in her first year uni vlogs she'd often try out different vegan foods and she didn't seem scared to eat. It's quite sad to see her eat these boring things over and over again.

But I thought that app she was shilling in ad posts just yesterday had changed the game because she had no way to mark and annotate texts otherwise? If that's such a revelatory, essential app, why is it not on the list, Ruby? You don't have to answer, we know you only claimed to use it because you were paid to.

She can never just admit to using things intermittently, or when she feels like it. She could've said that she used note flags for certain books, when she feels like it, when she wants to come back to certain things. But instead it has to be the best and most essential study tool that she uses religiously and all the time. I'm using your example of the note flags but really, this applies to the majority of what she talks about. It's pretty bold, when there's so many years' worth of recorded evidence that just contradicts her.

Jokes aside though how utterly stupid do you have to be to open a trunk, see that it's covered in mold on the inside, and go "well, nothing to see here! Can't wait to put my clothes in here".

I imagine her PR company just said "Get on Insta and make a few posts, maybe do a giveaway, drum up attention!" Then Ruby sat confused for several hours as to what the concept of giving things away was and then was so shocked to learn that she'd have to sent her crappy planners to people without getting any money out of it and just lied and never intended to send anything.

I have to admit I never liked the Famous Five - I didn’t mid Blyton’s school stories or things like the Wishing Chair, but the ‘whizzo, ginger beer for tea’ adventure stories never did anything for me. I also think that Blyton is a really problematic author and a lot of her books aren’t that great (sorry …) Re-reading them now you just see the racism, classism and sexism and whilst they’re good as period pieces I don’t think they stand up today. As an adult I also really, really hate most of her school stories. They’re not good examples of the genre, by any means, and it amazes me that ‘anti-bullying Ruby’ loves Malory Towers that much. A lot of what goes in in those books is downright nasty, from a bullying perspective. The recent BBC adaptation left me cold as it was all Cath Kidston dormitories and diversity - that was NOT Blyton at all and I don’t think she should have been done that courtesy, as it’s misleading. There’s a long history in children’s stories of using things like disability and race as a trope for moral inferiority and Blyton was a big part of that. I think she’s one of those authors that should now be read for historical context and not for entertainment.

I second this, I personally never got into Blyton and found them quite dated. What gets me though is that she has given a book 2 stars, but doesn’t seem to have given any written review? I’d love to see why she gave it what she did!

Her ratings often have no bearing on the vague reviews she gives for the books, like she changes her mind as to what fake opinion she'll have and forgets to keep it consistent.

Back when she actually left reviews, in amongst the vague, word soup reviews for books she clearly hadn't read, there was nonsense like:

"This is the greatest work of literature ever written! 4/5 Stars."

"I enjoyed parts of this, but overall it was very disappointing. 5/5 Stars."

"This book was amazing! I cried several times and highly recommend this to anyone! 2/5 Stars."

My gut answer for her dislike of Famous Five would've been that they're quite dated and not going to hold up for an adult reading them for the first time in the 21st Century without the benefit of nostalgia.

But the same could be said of almost every children's book she reads, so it's likely just that The Famous Five spend their summer holidays having fun adventures without taking their parents everywhere at all times, rather than studying all summer in full view of mummy and daddy every day, like Ruby does. They also put themselves at risk to help stop crime, save other people and better their community, so Ruby clearly couldn't relate.

Her planner has sold out. I believe there was only 1,000 copies, so that's 1,000 people who got scammed out of £16 plus shipping for a cheap piece of Poundland crap.

The hilarious part? There's somehow still 1570 ribbons left in stock. Even people crazy enough to buy the planner weren't stupid enough to buy that shitty ribbon for £1. So from the looks of it, they ordered twice as many ribbons as they did planners, now this crap's going to gather dust a warehouse.

I need to just stop questioning Ruby because she will never make sense - but did anyone else wonder why she just said ‘with some friends’ when I think the whole internet now knows who Blakeney and Molly are?

Ruby knows Blakeney and Molly get a lot of attention and compliments in her comments (and actively tries to avoid showing too much of them and limits their time in her videos). Ruby also hates anyone but herself getting attention, so she avoids mentioning their names to knock them down to below herself. Blakeney's her only real friend. Here she's just "some friend".

But she also increasingly likes appearing popular and social. "Some friends" implies she has many more where that came from. She does the same things whenever she posts photos of herself out and about with random people.

Outside of Blakeney and Molly (who Ruby only knows through Blakeney), "one of my very favourite people" or "some friends" always turn out to be her mother's friends or their children who were dragged along for a forced playmate with Ruby, with Mother Granger lurking on the periphery.

She just uses other people as props in her posts, there to appear like subordinates and people lucky to be in her orbit, when they're invariably always more mature, talented, interesting and well-adjusted people than her, which is the part she edits out and avoids mentioning.

I don't think Ruby was mature enough at 18 to understand what a tremendous privilege it was to buy such a house.
She hadn't even started college, hadn't begun to live and develop as an independent person, and was putting herself into a mortgage. Not to mention that she couldn't even stay home alone.

Anyway, it's a very nice house and probably a lot of people's dream. I hope someday Ruby realizes how tremendously privileged she is and stops saying that a £22 book is expensive, because she couldn't be more cynical.

OT but I've been catching up on the previous threads and wanted to add my 2 cents (sorry for bringing this up again lol) - as an autistic girl who has researched the condition extensively and has worked with others on the spectrum, I really doubt Ruby is autistic. Her obsessions (ever-changing aesthetics and literature) are surface-level, and whilst she does appear to have difficulty socially, it doesn't seem like that's due to an inability rather than a self-imposed difficulty due to how she sees herself as 'superior' to others. You can be socially awkward and not autistic lol. Whilst it appears differently in each person, I just don't see it.

Also ngl some of the speculation across the recent threads has been bordering on uncomfortable due to a few ignorant comments so I just wanted to add my bit!

Unfortunately she very quickly U-turned when asked about potential drama between the two of them and was happily endorsing and enthusiastically encouraging people to watch Ruby's content even at her most problematic and triggering. I lost all respect for Molly the second she did that.

Sorry but I'm a bit emotional at the moment, so you guys can correct me, but be aware I am speaking out via emotions.
Where I grew up It was a constantly made fun of suburb, where we were all called bogans, laughed at so forth.I remember being absolutely embarrassed to say where I lived for YEARS. The houses were cheap (hence why my parents could afford my house)

Now I cannot even afford a house there because landlords and people like Ruby and her parents thinking. I know she didn't personally do this to me (she doesn't even live in my country, Australia) but I feel like saying fuck you, fuck you fuck you. This isn't even emotion at Ruby, it's emotion at everyone who felt "investing in property you won't even live in for a few years" is a moral, ethical thing to do. Fuck you.

Sorry for being emotional, but that video honestly tipped me.

Your emotions are 100% valid, gentrification is a very real issue and it's getting worse all the time. I had the same experience of growing up in a "bad" area which now I can't afford to live in, houses have become air bnbs and the old family-run businesses have been turned into Starbucks. The people who live there now are the same ones who used to look down on that town and its residents.

Ruby pretends to be a sweet little girl who admires slow living and the old ways of life but she's a rich tory kid at heart. She genuinely doesn't realize that most uni students can't purchase a house that they won't even live in. She can pretend to be hard-working and wholesome while benefiting from Daddy's tax dodging.

Part of me wants Ruby to make a video addressing her privilege and how it has affected her life, how it has allowed her to be so """productive""" and go about her life the way she has, and acknowledge that it won't be the same for most of her viewers. But we all know it would be a disaster, with no research, mispronounced words and probably include a sponsorship to do with low income families for which she would keep all the profits. And she'd spend half the video talking about working class Victorians and how they were so, so inspirational and aesthetic. And then she'd try to convince us that she has money because she's so hard-working, you too could afford a cottage if you spent 7 hours a day writing aesthetic notes!

Behold, such "productive" study techniques as taking notes on Kindle, then typing up all the same notes on Notion, then making paper notes of all the same information. Why do something well once, when you can half-ass it three times over?

It's always been Northern Lights in the UK. Apparently they changed it to The Golden Compass for US Release but originally and in the UK it's always been Northern Lights
