I feel sorry for her too. She does not look at all well. Vegetarian and even vegan diet can be done in a healthy way. What she's doing aint it. Her university has the reading lists up for all the modules. I’m ngl, I might do some of the primary reading beforehand myself, especially longer novels, just so I could be re-reading instead of reading for the first time when term is in full swing. But I wouldn’t do secondary reading, articles etc., beforehand, which is what she’s doing. So she’s going to rock up to class, regurgitate what she’s read, and probably not gain any new insights from discussion, because she already ”knows the right answers.”She leads such a sad life. She's constantly trying to be productive even when she's twirling around a field or reading a book while she hopefully, doesn't walk into a post.Or a tree. Who studies BEFORE the semester? How does she even know what the syllabus is? Maybe it's different where she lives, but when I went to college, we didn't get the syllabus until the first day. When I saw Ruby was reading Shawshank, I was shocked because King isn't in her comfort zone at all because King, for all his absolutely earned popularity, is a challenging writer. He is such a genius at character, world building, ambiguous character development and plot. Shawshank is such a profound and yet visceral novel so I was looking forward to Ruby's thoughts on it - which were virtually non existent. She skims books at most, so it's unsurprising that she never remembers even the titles (like Stephen King's "The Shankshaw Redaction" or whatever she kept calling it). I'm sure she just saw "Picnic" in the title and Victorian schoolgirls on the cover and thought it'd be a fun cottagecore romp to pretend to read.
Yeah zucchini is one of the most versatile vegetables out there in my opinion but that porridge looked disgusting. I've been "following" her for years at this point (I'm not subscribed to her channel anymore but I keep an eye on her). Correct me if I'm wrong, but has she ever raised money for a cause? Donated money? Shared a GoFundMe page her fans could donate their pocket money to? Donated her possessions?
Granted, she may have done charity in private and not talked about it on her channel, but I doubt it. This is someone who expects praise because she held the door open for someone. And even if she did, considering the massive following she has, it would literally be detrimental to a cause if she just donated and not shared it on social media.
The past couple years have unfortunately been full of disasters. Everyone else I follow has done something about at least one of them. Either organised a fundraiser themselves or donated to an existing one and urged their followers to do the same. Ruby is out there buying houses with her revenue from Youtube, her family lives in a literal mansion, her father drives an Aston Martin, and she won't even donate her old clothes. So much for being "an ambassador for kindness" and "aligned to the values of Christianity". I guess she skipped the lecture about giving everything you have to the poor.

I'm curious as to whether she will analyse aspects of Father Christmas in the context of "scarier" European St Nicholas traditions (where Nicholas travels with demons). I always thought the externalised representation of the dualistic "duties" (reward & punishment) of Father Christmas seemed older: there's something nice about having two separate beings for these two duties. It's less complicated theologically and philosophically. Yet I was thinking just now that this might purely be the result of amalgamation: stranger pagan traditions had to be folded somehow into the narrative of a saint giving gifts, so instead of allocating the punishment duties straight to the saint, the demons got to tag along with him instead. Well, I'll just watch it.
