I'm still waiting for her landlord to see what she did to the kitchen cupboardsSeriously, her lack of common candle skills is what most grates on me. When you have a taper (NOT a ”candlestick”) that doesn’t quite fit your candlestick (NOT ”candlestick holder”), you either 1) shave it down at the base if it’s too big or 2) drop some melted wax on the bottom of the candlestick if your candle is too small, and affix your taper to that so that it’s upright. What you DON’T do is put the taper in the candlestick loose at a 30° angle and position it near a curtain or other flammable material.
I guarantee you, if her landlady saw her candle setup, there would be no more live candles allowed at her uni accommodation.
Well maybe it's better she doesn't, the time she talked about the Holocaust it turned out she was paid to do that by a fucking charity. Then recently she mentioned the fires in Turkey with a caption "WE SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!" with no link to any charities and soon after she deleted the post altogether. Altogether she has zero understanding of these topics and would rather use it for financial gain only. It's sickening. That is true, she never shows any interest for anything happening outside of her parents' garden unless they're paying her to promote something (Holocaust ad anyone?)
Should I end up in hell (it’s likely …) I fully expect that one of my torments will be as follows: I will be locked in a dusty room with Ruby. I’ll be strapped to a chair and Ruby will be flouncing round the room reading the full version of the OED in her poetry voice, whilst mispronouncing Every. Damn. Word.No chance of her making it through the first shelf of the 'bookshelf'... how on earth has she not learnt what that piece of furniture is called yet, its like Chinese torture listening to her get it wrong every time.
It’s very Pollyanna/Anne of Green Gables - playing the glad game and declaring that everything is ‘my most, very favourite’ thing.I guess it's like saying "the very best" or something. "Very" is pretty unnecessary and pointless in this case, but people still sometimes use it to emphasize the adjective. I always think it sounds a bit old fashioned/pretentious to use the word "very" in front of these superlatives, maybe that's why Ruby does it so much![]()
Come on now. How did that sentence sound right to her? It's blatantly wrong. From the newest video: ”That doesn’t mean it’s not going to be a mindful, restful day though, because I think you can coincide productivity with that kind of happiness.” Here’s a twelve-point term for you, Roobee: intransitive verb. Look it upHint: ”coincide” is one of them.
For the sake of the entire publishing industry, I hope she isn’t still considering pursuing a career as an editor. And again, sorry Exeter, but I’m really questioning her grades when her grasp on grammar seems tenuous at best. (Unless she’s going for Shakespeare-level innovation? Come to think of it, she HAS introduced us to a number of words we’ve never heard before, such as ”francious” and ”alamac”. Using ”coincide” with an object is not a huge leap from there.)
Honestly I don't think Ruby would even begin to know the difference between, smart, wise and just having a good memory. Like with her obsession with early Hermione and the need to memorize everything in her textbooks, to the point she wasn't really learning but just quoting things, where in later on books when she actually starts using her Knowledge in different scenarios to prove she actually understood. As soon as the characters show any sign of maturity and start being more independent thinkers, doers and relationships click in, Ruby opted out of the series. Too mature for her to handle. If she only reads the first few books, over and over again, she can keep them perpetually young, like she wishes she could be. Hmm. Not going to work, Rubes. You are getting older by the minute and it shows.
I really thought is was sad and pathetic that she considered time going to random places with her family as unproductive. That is just so twisted. A wise person knows that you learn from every experience, big or small, good or bad. But why must every single thing in her life be about productivity? I have never known anyone so hung up on a phrase or word. I hope she never has kids because they would have ulcers by the time they are 10 trying to meet her agenda. I would be worn out being around her after 10 minutes.
I’m not a native speaker so I have no qualms about pointing out Roobee’s various shortcomingsLike my previous post, she has the right (sort of lol) idea but the wrong execution. That sentence needs to be reworded to make sense. She's like the kid in school who uses a thousand words to fluff out her essays and such but gets lost in it because they're using words they don't really understand and then the work just comes out as low quality....
also p.s I would not be coming for a non-native English speaker like this!!! So if english is anything other than your native language, do not worry!!!! I just think most native speakers should/would know the correct usage of coincide lol
I think dark academia books are almost always set in an academic setting like a school, a boarding school or university. They often have themes of like decadence, moral corruption, stuff like that. Usually they also feature murder and drug/alcohol use and the characters are tormented academics or scholars or artists. Like, think Dorian Grey but YA contemporary lolWould something like this have a dark academia vibe? Sorry for so many questions, I'm very curious about this whole dark academia thing

Jesus that’s so cheap to me!! I’m looking for a place rn here in the Netherlands and €1600 is average for a one bedroom apartment. €600 is like a 20m2 studio!!
Totally, maybe it's nit picking but the wording "back to school" makes me think of primary school lolI've never really understood why adult YouTubers do 'Back to School' content. It would be more acceptable to title them as 'Getting ready for September/new academic year' or other more generic title, then viewers can take what they want from it (be it school, university, a new job etc.).
It makes it confusing who she thinks her audience is.
To be a fly on the wall when Ruby whips out the typewriter to take notes during a lectureWhy has she brought a filthy, mouldy school trunk and put it on her bedroom floor. What is actually wrong with her!
I can just imagine her dragging that trunk to university and sitting there taking notes on a type writer in the middle of a lecture.
Lmaoo does she actually think she'll be able to write her thesis on a typewriter?lmao over her new video. Victorian inspired school haul. Let's break it down, shall we?
1. Talks about Dickens and how he discusses using ink, paper and a blotting pad. Goes out and buys said products. Doesn't research enough to realize in his time most writing was still done with quill, not pen and ink.
2. Fake freckles in first half of video. Forgot to draw them on for the 2nd half. Oopsie! Another messy video from Ruby, who is so determined to get her videos out as fast as she can, but doesn't bother to edit correctly.
3. Wears a massive cameo brooch like a true grandma. Well, at least she got the memo that losing all that weight has aged her.
4. Bought a filthy old trunk that she "thinks" is from a boarding school. It is moldy inside. You can see the green. Nice. Let's pack our clothes in this thing and use it to go back to uni. Uni, dear. Not boarding school.
5. Suggests we all write our letters and notes with pen and ink. Why? Uni is for studying, getting a degree, getting a job for life. Is isn't about some stupid, airhead aesthetic.
6. Also buys an old fashioned typewriter. Okay, Rubes. Enjoy writing your papers on that instead of a computer. Immediate fail when she realizes how hard it is to never make an error and that you need to rewrite the entire page again. (Can we just take a moment as to how much paper she wastes with all her lists, journals, letters, etc.?) So much for being sustainable...
7. iPad. Because...wait. Wasn't this supposed to be Victorian related?
This was the most useless and ridiculous back to school themed video I have ever seen on YouTube. Her head is never going to come down out of the clouds. Needless to say, maybe she needs to get consumption for that full Victorian experience.![]()
The thing I find utterly bizarre and fascinating: Ruby constantly says that she considers videos over 12 minutes "too long" to make or watch. So she often condenses several things that might be vaguely interesting (days out to interesting places, time spent with people more charismatic and likeable than her) into a 11 minute vlog full of sped-up, silent footage and slapdash editing.Blimey, forty minutes!? Dare I!?
sorry pondscum has absolutely sent meRuby's fans appear to have very quickly forgotten about that blatant scam contest that she ran for her planner. Predictably, she never announced winners and nobody's tagged her or Pumpkin Productivity in any posts to say they’d won. She's just complete pondscum.
Is it really so cold in the UK that you need a cardigan and Christmas socks?I own these socks - I never thought I’d have anything in common with Rubybut I only wear mine at Christmas!
