Wow. Her mother's blog is very revealing of her character. Quite frankly, she sounds like a b****. Is housework below her? Feeling sorry for herself because she has to pick up a duster and a vacuum cleaner and actually try and tidy the place up (which she obviously never does as the place is always a complete pigsty). Sorry, dear, but many of us have full time jobs, kids, husbands, homes and we do chores too. And we don't feel demeaned over it. It is our home and we are proud to have it look nice and not everyone wants to hire out and have a stranger come in to do it. We don't need to date it back to the 50's and feel sorry for ourselves. My husband is not upset when he has to help out or take over. It is part of marriage/partnership. Apparently she is lacking in that. She sounds like a complete flake, which really is no surprise to me. Ruby and Martha's behaviors and characters come from somewhere. Not out of the blue. They have been spoon fed being whack jobs from the beginning. I get major hippy, free-minded vibes from this family, to the point of no control or destination. I can pretty much see them all playing dress up to some extent in 20 years, stuck in their home, as the world and life passes them by, while they wonder why no one wants to play with them. omg...truly pathetic.

That or they knew that they'd blow money on the fees only for Ruby to call home the first night begging to be picked up early like a kid at a sleepover.
They don’t seem like the kind of parents that would want to send their kids to boarding school - either that or I might have to credit them with some common sense and they saw that it probably wouldn’t work for Ruby. I have always wondered if Ruby sat the entrance exam for the very, very prestigious girls’ boarding school that’s kind-of local to her and didn’t get in and that’s what she feels she missed out on, but realistically I think that it’s her Malory Towers fantasies speaking and the reality of boarding school would have been as much a disappointment as university appears to have been.

Also I’m shocked at the surfing videos? I don’t understand how in some clips she looks so underweight/sick and in this she just looks like normal?

Old footage. She's been surfing several times before and likely has a bunch of old photos and footage lying around. In her latest photos of her Devon trip, half the photos she looks gaunt and pale, then in the surfing photos she has a fuller face and a tan and is holding a surfboard that belongs to a family friend from Tenby. Not only are they most likely old photos, they're probably not even taken in Devon.

I think Roobee is bound to be even more upset now after losing her dog, it’s a painful process for most people when their pet dies and it’s understandable for her to be in a bit of a slump. But she’s not addressing it, one post and that’s it pretty much- trying to distract herself with outfit videos. I would say she could be speaking out about emotions and showing young followers that it’s okay to grieve, but instead she’s playing into the toxic productivity/positivity culture again. Is she worried people would call her out for attention seeking? because mourning a pet is pretty normal and only someone heartless would say otherwise. Ruby really should take a proper break, because she genuinely does look so sad right now.
It's also entirely possible that the loss of the family dog hasn't affected her all that much. I certainly don't think its informing her content right now - that slump has been her everyday routine for a year, and the forced grimace and endless outfit videos has been her default look for months on end, so this is nothing remotely new.

Ok that video was just absurdly boring. I did however get a chuckle out of her letter writing - one letter was one nice looking letter paper, the other was written on something torn from a notepad. Do we think there's some sort of hierarchy in her friendships for who gets letters on fancy paper v bog standard notepaper? If you pissed her off, would the quality of the letter paper suddenly go down?

Also question for anyone who knows: how do diss proposals for English at Exeter work? How detailed is it meant to be, and how often do proposals get rejected? Is it necessary for her to be doing as much work on it at this point as she is? When I did mine I literally just had to pop an email to the coordinator saying "this is the area I want to look at" and that was it, I assume Exeter requires more than that?

I'd like to believe that it's a troll account, but I'm leaning towards it being real. I can't tell which is sadder tbh
I sometimes like to think Ruby herself is trolling... 😐 and herself and her parents laugh every time they upload before she heads to London for a session. 🍻🍺🍷

Hi! I haven't posted here before but I must say I couldn't believe that The Secret History was on her TBR shelf? Has she mentioned in the past that she hasn't yet finished it? I say this because it's been featured in so much of her youtube content, even dating back to her 'dark academia: everything you need to know' video from November 2020 where she explicitly mentions it...in other videos I remember she would just film short clips of her pretending to read it. I guess when considering her behaviour in general this shouldn't be too surprising, but her reasoning for not finishing it paired with how much she's flaunted that book about is just SO bizarre to me.

But now I'm curious what part she got up to. Maybe it was before all the drinking and drug mentions really kicked off? :ROFLMAO:
She's just a compulsive liar, but her terrible organisational skills are so bad and she's so skatter-brained and lazy that she can't be bothered to stay consistent with her lies. She's maybe read 5% of the books in her room, and that's being generous. She might as well call both bookcases her TBR shelves.

All the dark academia books she owns, I 100% guarantee she just Googled "dark academia books" and bought the most popular ones, put them on a shelf and has never read them.

For proof, try suffering through that "Everything you need to know about dark academia" video, where she shows almost no understanding or knowledge of the subject and is clearly reading definitions she pulled from the front page of a Google search.

Through that weird fake-smiling narration she does, she says The Secret History is "the staple one for this aesthetic. This is the one you'll see referenced the most online." She's clearly never read it and has no thoughts to offer. She just bought it because the listicles she found online in a cursory Google search told her it was a dark academia book. She'll never admit to not reading it.

Her amazing insight into her dark academia books and what makes them great examples of the aesthetic/subgenre also includes:

Harry Potter: "..." (The series she should theoretically have the most insight into, she days nothing about.)

Let's Explore Diabetes With Owls: "A collection of essays which are very, very funny." (Which is practically just the cover blurb.)

Villette: "This is set in a boarding school."

The Ocean at the End of the Lane: "The old-fashioned elements of this really remind me." ("Of what?" you might ask. Good question. Ruby's feeble brain offers this up as a complete sentence.)

She also offers up two "Jules Vernes" books. I wonder if he has any connection to Jules Verne.

Everyone's likely to look disgusting at some point while eating. It's why almost every rational human being elects not to make a show of aggressively chewing gross foods inches from other people's faces. Ruby instead decides to make the video equivalent of that, in videos ostensibly about studying.

She absolutely deserves to be called out for it. It's disgusting from a behaviour and a visual standpoint. She should be in a zoo, or trying to steal The One Ring from Frodo Baggins, not making videos for impressionable kids.
I saw a comment once on one of her most recent videos that described her eating 'face' perfectly. The commenter said they were sick of seeing her small portions and 'gurning facial expressions' as she eats.

Yet again I don't understand who this video is aimed at. Things like Notion and using your library are only really suitable for uni students (we were never allowed laptops in class at school, maybe that's normal in private schools though?). But a pencil case and folder are not gonna be used AT ALL by an English student at uni. I remember buying hundreds of folders before first year and I literally never used them because we don't get given loose paper. So is this video for a 15 year old about to do GCSEs, or a 21 year old about to start their dissertation?

She's unbelievably ignorant about her own privilege - '£120+ headphones are an absolute MUST!' So studying is only for the rich and nobody can succeed without spending a near fortune?

Things like food and water are not academic essentials. They're essential to staying alive. You should be consuming them every day regardless of if you're a student or not.
'Essential number 47: Air. Oxygen is so important for our brains, don't forget to breathe!'

OT but I've been catching up on the previous threads and wanted to add my 2 cents (sorry for bringing this up again lol) - as an autistic girl who has researched the condition extensively and has worked with others on the spectrum, I really doubt Ruby is autistic. Her obsessions (ever-changing aesthetics and literature) are surface-level, and whilst she does appear to have difficulty socially, it doesn't seem like that's due to an inability rather than a self-imposed difficulty due to how she sees herself as 'superior' to others. You can be socially awkward and not autistic lol. Whilst it appears differently in each person, I just don't see it.

Also ngl some of the speculation across the recent threads has been bordering on uncomfortable due to a few ignorant comments so I just wanted to add my bit!
Yes! I hate how every time a public person is a bit shy, quirky or awkward, doesn't have a ton of friends and has unique interests, everyone says "I bet they're autistic!"

I get that she’s trying to be “aesthetic” here but does it bother anyone else how she’s piled everything on top of one another under the guise of being extra productive? “I must read the ny times at the same time as dickens, and write to do lists on paper, in my planner AND on a notepad that I’m also using as a coaster!!”

Not to mention that the candle is in danger of setting her desk alight as she’s essentially made the whole thing as flammable as possible. But of course remember to keep all of your notes in one place! And buy the planner which has EVERYTHING a student could need, which is why I have a thousand other notepads around me at all times!
I'd be paranoid setting my cup of tea down on a soft surface like a notebook, next to all my notes, my book, my planner and my computer, and within a radius where I could easily knock it over with my arm and flood my entire desk.

First time poster, long time lurker 😉 found a (possibly dodgy) link to the video where Ruby says she has bought a house:
"It's in a nice safe area" aka 5 minutes driving distance from her family home. Like not even the next town over. If Ruby "lived" there, would she actually live there? I can just imagine her mum picking her up in the evenings so she could sleep at home...

She probably picked the smallest courgette cause it means the least calories possible. It's actually sad to see that she seems to restrict fruits and vegetables too. She used to show her breakfast bowls on instagram with barely 1/4 of a banana, or frozen mangoes as a dessert but it was 4 small chunks in the tiniest bowl...

Hi, thanks snom4444 and gossipguy for replying to me. I understand that you thank Ruby's busywork is inefficient. However, my problem is that gossipguy said it took her an "hour" to write the timetable she showed when we have no idea how long it took her. I don't think that's reasonable because you shouldn't accuse her of things you don't know to be true, even if you suspect them based on past behaviour. Otherwise there is misinformation about her on a publicly accessible forum.
She may have shown poor time management in previous videos, but she did not show "atrocious time management" at all in this video like gossipguy claimed - you can have your suspicions, she could have done so in the past, but like anyone she is "innocent until proven guilty" or it just becomes unfair or could be lying.
"Your honour, my client may have committed numerous crimes in broad daylight in front of thousands of witnesses. She may have broken the law in the past and will gladly do so in the future. But to accuse her of putting an empty carton of milk back in the fridge when she was finished is just spurious conjecture, especially since she wasn't caught on camera when she did it--I mean, totally didn't do it."

She absolutely displayed atrocious time management in that video. Granted, she may not have spent exactly an hour writing her to-do list for the day, but as always, she spent far more time than should ever be needed on unnecessary lists and plans that clearly don't help her in any way. I think you're missing the forest for the very small bonsai tree.

This is a person who wrote her daily schedule in a paper planner, then typed that same schedule into Notion. Redundant busywork and a waste of time. Then she moaned about how she didn't have enough time to do things after wasting lots of it.

This is a person who spent a huge chunk of her day prepping for a presentation by writing an entire script that clearly had nothing to do with the topic at hand. If she'd taken even a minute to reflect on what the subject of the presentation was instead of making everything about herself and her ego, she'd have saved herself a lot of embarassment. Instead she wasted half her day and made an idiot out of herself, then cried like there was no way to see it coming.

This is a person who spent a massive amount of time on that day writing up a summary and character list for a play she hadn't even started reading yet. Cart before horse much? And by "writing up a summary", I mean "copying whole sections from Sparknotes onto Notion". Again, a completely redundant waste of time. Just use Sparknotes outright if you're hellbent on taking shortcuts on your assignment and not reading the play - copying that information from one page to another isn't going to make it any more original. And, again, she complained that she was having trouble remembering the story and characters. You know what usually helps you remember the story and characters in a play? Actually reading the play.

If that's not abysmal time management, I don't know what is. Ruby is a colossal idiot. Her organisational skills are complete and utter shit. That's not suspicion or unfair to her - it's quantifiable fact. But if you're concerned about liars on the internet, there's this person called Ruby Granger who requires all of your attention.

She leads such a sad life. She's constantly trying to be productive even when she's twirling around a field or reading a book while she hopefully, doesn't walk into a post. Or a tree. Who studies BEFORE the semester? How does she even know what the syllabus is? Maybe it's different where she lives, but when I went to college, we didn't get the syllabus until the first day. It seems like she knows exactly what her classes will contain before she ever gets there. As for her appearance, she's looking more and more like I little girl. If I didn't know anything about her, and I saw a photo of her, I would think she was about 12 years old. Yikes.
Her university has the reading lists up for all the modules. I’m ngl, I might do some of the primary reading beforehand myself, especially longer novels, just so I could be re-reading instead of reading for the first time when term is in full swing. But I wouldn’t do secondary reading, articles etc., beforehand, which is what she’s doing. So she’s going to rock up to class, regurgitate what she’s read, and probably not gain any new insights from discussion, because she already ”knows the right answers.”

As for her looking like a little girl... That’s precisely the look she’s going for. Too bad the weight loss is really, really aging up her face.
