I don’t owe throw away fakes. I own 1:1 replicas which are made with the same craftsmanship as an authentic bag. I also have authentic bags and near enough every single one of my replica bags trumps the quality of the authentic. I don’t think people realise these aren’t knock offs from a market in Dubai, these are seriously skilled people making 1:1 copies.

I’m not talking about market stall fake Gucci handbags. When you buy authentic, you aren’t paying for better construction or materials or labour, you’re paying for marketing and this ‘aspirational brand’. Super fakes are constructed in the same way, for example a Chanel CF and one bought from a top tier factory are 1;1.

These bags are bought directly from sellers in China who work closely with factories. Yes we don’t know the conditions of the factories or who they fund but we can say the exact same for brands like Chanel and LVMH. You could even argue that a more significant cut of the profit from the $600 paid for a super fake is more likely to be split with the sellers and labourers compared to$5000 lining an ~unethical millionaires pocket who are also exploiting people to make billions of pounds. Here’s some articles to read: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/...workers-who-assemble-designer-bags-in-tuscany

Another:https://www.thefashionlaw.com/the-less-than-transparent-realities-behind-made-in-italy-fashion/

Brands like Coach, Michael Kors, Anya Hindmarch, Tory Burch are also made in factories in China. Other brands near enough fully construct the bag in China then send over to Italy or France for minor details to get that ‘Made in France’ stamp. Chanel is allowed to raise its prices every year to keep it ‘exclusive’. Brands like Chanel burn excess stock to keep the brand ‘exclusive’.

I appreciate it’s a hard pill to swallow when you’ve had the idea of owning designer goods as something to feel proud of as you’ve worked hard for it. I get it, I used to buy authentic (sometimes still do) until I found out about how super fakes work.

Designer goods were made to separate the rich from the poor, they’re known as a marker of status and however most of us try to deny this isn’t what we buy designer clobber for - it literally is. As a society, we put designer clothes and accessories on a pedestal. It’s capitalism at its finest! When people say ‘if you don’t have the money don’t buy it!!!’ Its really condescending and sounds like you’re saying that people with less money than you aren’t allowed to have what you have. This also ignores the fact that many rich people also buy super fakes.
Could you advise where you get these super fakes if allowed thanks

a lot of people can actually tell them apart. If we’re talking about money buying quality, you have to realise, that fake bags will have different materials then, to be affordable - therefore it’s impossible for them to look exactly the same.

also, I can also buy fake bags if I wanted to, so I’m not spiteful in the slightest that someone spent way less than I did on a designer bag.

also, people are not “innocently” discussing fake bags, it’s extremely unethical. Besides the points, how would you feel if you worked so hard to make something you love and became successful, just to have someone rip off your designs?

that left one is obviously fake. The CC turn lock is way too thin.
I can also tell the ‘leather’ is stiffer

Men are trash and will always seek to exploit women, I agree. That doesn’t mean all women who take part in that exploitation willingly and actively seek it out are without culpability in perpetuating it.
Thank you!
These women have no self respect or shame. They are given the same opportunities as men are, yet chose to take the easy way out in life and do something that is dangerously close to prostitution. Yes the men are pigs but these women are the ones who join these websites and such seeking out such trash men so I guess in essence trash attracts trash. Both are equally bad. These women made the choice to leech off of men and for what...? I'm sorry but a Chanel bag (while doing this behind closed doors) does not buy you class nor dignity. At the end of the day if this is what you do to obtain luxury items then it's essentially worthless.
Agree with me or not but prostitutes absolutely get zero respect in my book.

Would you go for another LV? I love my Speedy 25
Hey! I was totally contemplating the speedy 25 (but the bandouliere) but I never see anyone with a speedy anymore, I was worried they’re slowly going out! (No offence), but they are so so practical, so roomy... 😭 such a gorgeous bag! Do you have the damier ebene or monogram? I guess they will always be a classic!

I am part of rep ladies and I got a Gucci soho which I use constantly as it’s perfect size and colour but I think it’s very obvious it’s fake.
also got a LV pochette metis and use it all the time in the summer and I love it and think it’s well Made and nobody ever notices it’s rep

Oh, social media is absolutely a major part of this. As I said in an earlier comment, the idea of trying to keep up with those around you is nothing new, but social media has definitely brought the pressure to new highs and the goals even more unbelievable.
it causes the replica market to thrive, because the demand increases, so people turn to this so they can get the same “look” for cheap. But of course this comes with its own ethics such as funding for terrorist organisations and child exploitation as mentioned before

Posting in this thread just for advice on this. I sometimes feel like the most stupid person online for not understanding Reddit but I just don’t get it. There seems to be loads of different replies you have to click on for different discussions on the same thread topic but clicking on one brings up another collection of different replies.. 🧐
it’s not too different from tattle!!!! There’s just 10x the amount of information on there so very overwhelming if you’re new, you can search for topics (known as subreddits) and follow them like you’d watch a thread on tattle, inside the subreddit will be posts based on that topic so if you’ve followed the subreddit for a TV show for example there will be 100s of posts inside that subreddit discussing the tv show, normally people will ask questions like “what did you think of season 4” or “does anyone agree with (unpopular opinion” etc etc so similar to tattle but instead of there just being one thread about one topic eg. The Molly Mae thread where we all discuss anything and everything about her in the thread, there are loads of things inside one subreddit. So if it was a subreddit about Molly Mae there might be 100s of posts about different topics, asking opinions on her PLT range, discussing her love island season etc, but you can easily search for specific things inside the subreddit if you’re looking for a particular topic. People can like or dislike a comment so the top comment is normally the most popular one and comments aren’t shown in chronological order, meaning if there’s a comment that people don’t agree with it can be downvoted and taken off the post. Once someone’s posted a reply you can then reply to that post (very similar to how you quote someone’s post on tattle) and start a conversation with that person and others can join in, or you can just create a new comment which will be completely separate. Most subreddits will have rules and guidelines you need to follow (just like tattle) based on what you can and can’t post and how to use that particular subreddit, it will probably be pinned at the top of the post. The subreddits and have moderators etc like tattle, there’s so so so many subreddits on there but once you’re in one that you’re interested in it’s pretty easy to navigate!!! Hope this helps a little bit and hasn’t made it more complicated

but in terms of the replica subreddit I’ll agree that looks confusing to navigate as I’ve never used it to buy a bag but I’d suggest reading the FAQs and newbie guide (as I did earlier) to get a better idea of it instead of just reading the posts straight away

I agree, they do thrive, but they also keep increasing their prices so the exclusivity remains. Chanel’s classic flap has increased massively over the years, which ultimately excludes people who can’t afford the new price. I do agree with you in sense that, if everyone and their dog had a certain bag it puts me off, (such as the LV neverfull - sorry if people here have it!), it put me off a little, so I went for a similar bag style, but a different brand - the YSL tote.
but I’m also really easily influenced 😂😭 I try not to invest in new “it” bags or new trends and stick with the classics that never go out of style :)
Chanel and Hermes are def more exclusive, I have seen a few people with Chanel flaps but they mostly rich international (mostly Asian) students (I live in a uni town). LV, Prada and Gucci are so common these days. I didn't notice it before but I def noticed it now especially when our government started handing out thousands (minimum $5-8k/person) to literally EVERYone. Not sure if coincidence or not...

Thanks for starting this thread. I am very intrigued by the jewellery fakes and had no idea these kind of things existed!

I never thought I’d consider buying dupes but £30k for a bracelet is never going to be achievable for me.. now to see if I ever dare to order from one of these sellers 😂
Most of this stuff would never be attainable for me either. I never knew there was such a huge market for fakes (beyond Camden Market and scams) so it's an eye opener! There are so many good reviews I'm thinking I should. But even £160 is a lot to lose to a scammer.

There’s no such thing as a 1:1 replica, if there is then post the photos of yours, I’ve looked through loads of photos on reddit with 9+* reviews and in my eyes you can tell they’re a fake.

Came here for a nosy after reading MM thread and glad to see people share the same opinion as me.

Same for me I’ve wanted a Chanel for years and it will be a long time before I can get one, but will you ever have the same satisfaction buying a cheap knock off? Most likely not.
agree with this. My ultimate bag is a Celine luggage or belt bag but I’m waiting to buy it because it’s a sense of achievement!

Totally agree with what’s been said. I would never ever beg for a bag. If it comes my way, brilliant, or if not, it’s just a bag. My pride and dignity is worth so much more.

I read the purse forum thread about her video and skimmed through the actual video and I’m pretty shocked. It seems like she has attached so much happiness to this bag, that nothing else will compare to the feeling. I also watched her unbox the bag I think she intended to get from Hermes, but bought preloved after this and she even admitted that she didn’t feel happy because her experience was “tainted”. This is a really dangerous road to go down (attach future emotions to material items). Because when you don’t get the feeling you thought you would, you start looking for the “next thing”.

Also someone commented this, she had given the SA too much personal information so I don’t blame them getting a bit freaked out.

Which bag are you getting? I'm thinking of getting a new one. Not sure whether to get a day one or more of a dress up/evening bag.
It's custom order which is why I am in a wait. I don't want to say as no matter how I do, it will sound like a brag.

A day bag can always be carried over to evening with the right accessories. 😉

Agree that people should make the best choices they can afford, and ethical consumption should be more accessible. But, using the example of chocolate, there is quite a leap from buying a Nestle Kit Kat to a vegan brand chocolate brand that is certified fair trade and is involved in ensuring their goods aren't promoting inequalities. Just because a designer brand donates to charity and pays their rent and design staff doesn't make them without criticism. They have a huge profit margin, exploiting a consumer base that will remain loyal no matter how illogical the cost. When Chanel raises their prices, people moan, they don't go further by asking where this money is going and if it is justified. There are lots of ethical companies that are relatively pricey, because they are transparent about paying their staff fairly and using non-exploitative materials.

At the end of the day, this is all about animal skins, and no matter how much the fashion houses charge for the bags, a sheep, a crocodile etc had to die so people can flex or so people can participate in a trend, can that ever be ethical?
I don’t think anyone said designer brands are without criticism.

And no, flexing an animal skin probably cannot be considered truly ethical, but the point is that it is more ethical than saying “well fuck it, an animal had to die for this bag so I’ll buy the cheaper fake one that also had an animal die for it, probably in less humane ways, a copied design so less people got paid for it, stiched together by trafficked children in a health hazard warehouse, paying to support a drug baron who murders people”.

This argument will NEVER make sense to me.

I've read a lot about people having trouble at customs and having to pay customs fees. Is that a common problem and something I should be worried about?
Yes, it definitely can be. Some people choose to split parcels into smaller ones to try and reduce this. There's more advice and how people do it on reddit. It's why I like the agent - because without it the ordering & calculating shipping gets too complex.

What people choose to spend their money on is their own business. Everyone is different.

I think fair play that she is being honest about it. I’m sure there are many people you see on Instagram or around you that have replica items and are passing them off to you as real.
Absolutely people can spend their money on what they like! However spending money on fake, replicas and counterfeit goods is morally wrong.
I even hold my hands up as I have bought in the past, before doing my research and studying a fashion business degree. Now I will never buy again.

why no one should get involved with it all.
I mean it's pretty much prostitution :$
I still can't get over what I was reading tho...so gross and baffles me so much how on that Rep forum these girls were ADVOCATING for it and supporting it like it's a lifestyle that's desirable. I also saw comments such as these where it was encouraging other girls to want to enter an extremely dangerous world:

I feel sick to my stomach...

I want to buy some louis vuitton reps. I am new to this and have briefly read through the thread and checked out rep ladies on reddit... But can't get my head around how it all works? Do I just have to get in contact with all the trusted sellers? Could anybody recommend a seller for LV reps?
