There’s a lot of privilege showing on this thread. If you have enough disposable income to buy designer good for you but don’t get angry that people are getting the exact same thing for cheaper? In my home country in Africa I can tell loads of peoples stuff are fake because I live in the U.K. For them it’s normal bc they want to have luxury but can’t afford it... it’s their choice. Nobody judges anyone for it or cares. Not everyone is rich enough or likes to spend theousands on little leather bags... some people need to or simply put that money else where on more important things. I don’t know how that can make anyone THIS upset

it literally doesn’t affect you.
You’re most definitely consuming something really unethical elsewhere because that’s how capitalism works.
What a straw man argument. I’m not annoyed people are getting designer goods for cheaper, I’m annoyed people are using cognitive dissonance and baseless assumptions to justify financially supporting child sex trafficking.
Yes, it’s impossible to avoid unethical goods but anyone with a conscience ensures they shop ethically as much as possible, they don’t just say “well
duck it” and throw caution to the wind.
Everyone defending their choice to buy replicas by assuming that those who don’t must still buy
rit from PLT, Boohoo, Primark etc... well, I don’t. I choose to spend my money on the most ethical clothing and accessories I can access. Now, that IS a privilege because ethical clothing generally isn’t cheap, but if I had less money, I wouldn’t just say “well
duck it” and buy all the
tit I want, I’d be looking for ways to reduce shopping with those businesses and avoid the most unethical choices where possible - and not buying designer replicas is one of the easiest ways to do that.
Some of us do actually care what we’re preaching about here, we’re not just mentioning it to try and spoil your fun. I tried to be really tactful in my original post but now I’m just irritated. It’s your choice to shop how you want to, but don’t use these straw man arguments to try and deflect and justify your choices. Just own it - you’d rather have a replica designer bag than care about the unethical and illegal action that it helps fund.
