You’re not stupid! What’s been said is kind of right and kind of wrong.

A gram is obviously a measurement of weight whereas a millilitre is a measurement of volume. To get them to convert to be able to equally compare them you need to factor in density,

So in terms of 1g = 1ml that would be correct for water however completely incorrect for flour.
