Im just getting into bed now but the article by the telegraph was all about what a “wonderful family man” wayne couzen was. wonderful father, lovely to work with, really nice chap. Polite & respectful to a woman he used to work with at a garage. Was going on about his awards. Going on like he was a damn saint!

Wayne Couzens sounds like an illiterate dummy on the video footage from the police interview at his house, stumbling over his worlds, how was he ever employed a policeman 🤢

I guess the point was not to praise him but to show that dangerous men often do not present as such in everyday life.

Unfortunately, history is full of evil cunts, and mostly they are men. For e.g, how did people like Hitler and his cronies live with themselves after what they did.

How about king Leopold who, because the Congolese slaves weren't working hard enough, he decided to chop their hands and feet off.

This is just one example of the evil tit that happened during the Congo during the Belgian reign. Sick.

I just don’t understand men. We’ve grown and evolved throughout history and yet the one thing that remains is male violence against women. Wtf is wrong with them ???

Live updates on the sentencing:

Do we get the sentencing verdict today? It’s odd it’s taken 2 days?
Yes, he'll be sentenced today. I thought two days was too long but, having read everything that went on yesterday, I understand why now.

Not much mitigation but then what really can be said? Jim Sturman is a fine QC but the only real mitigating factor is his guilty plea.

Sentence will be passed at 11.30am.

I'm still on the fence whether it will be a whole life order. If it isn't, I think it will be 40 years which is effectively the same anyway.

He might not be a child killer or a serial killer, but he was a serving police officer. The impact of that is women know now that they cannot even trust the police! I don’t expect he will get a life term sentence now but IMO he definitely deserves one.

I know he is just doing his job, but the barrister defending him and saying that he deserves a second chance - how the duck can you live with yourself?

His three reasons being:
1) he’s plead guilty - how the duck could he not, he caught with all the evidence proving it was him
2) underlying depression - that is completely irrelevant. He planned this, hired a car, bought gear, bleeping hunted her out by scouring the area, then tried to cover his tracks. How is depression related to that at all?? They’re not even playing the psychotic card, he was fully of sound mind.
3) he has no previous convictions for violence - HE WAS CAUGHT FLASHING HIS COCK IN A MCDONALDS AND HIS COLLEAGES COVERED FOR HIM

Needless to say, that pathetic statement from the guy in the MET absolutely boiled my piss. “Blah blah blah he wasn’t a police man, he was a murderer, he’s not one of us”.
duck off. You knowingly employed a man who was referred to as “the rapist” by his colleagues. The entire culture needs to change. It’s abhorrent.

Sorry to go on a rant there. I am so heartbroken and so angry. I am genuinely terrified that one of my close friends or family members will be next, because there seems to have been no changes to stop this terrifying occurrence from happening again.

I love your passion & agree with everything you have said. The streets have never been fully safe for women. We are taught from a young age to walk in pairs, never go out alone, carry your keys in between your fingers (i dno if that was just me), scream fire not rape as people will more likely help, cover your drink when you go out, don't leave it unattended... we have a list of things to remember to stay safe instead of teaching men not to be predators.

I live on the opposite side of the world and my baby sister is a new-grad now working her first job in London. I should be excited for her, I should not be terrified that every interaction I have with her could be our last. How can we go on like this? I genuinely don’t know what the answer is going forward!

Couzens has been given a whole life sentence.
On the point of men hating women I have to disagree. I know many wonderful principled kind men. And using examples from history doesn’t really work as hitler had his partner Eva Braun who was more than complicit. Myra Hindley? Rose West? Beverley Allitt? There’s been many cruel and violent women throughout history. I would say that men are physically stronger and more able than women to impart serious violence against women through their mere genetics and physiology- so if a man so wishes to do a woman harm he can more ably

it’s not as simple as men are more able. It’s that society is set up that means women are questioned or deemed responsible. It’s always what we wear, out too late, shouldnt have stayed with that abusive man (never why is he abusing her?), should have known that something was wrong with that man/situation but don’t suspect that all men are cruel cause that’s not fair. It’s not just that men hurt women, it’s the men who make comments to their mates as a joke, it’s degrading pornography, its books and films where men pester until the woman gives in, it’s women being viewed for consumption instead of actual humans with brains, I could go on forever.

Whole life term criteria. Such cases include:
a) the murder of two or more persons where each murder involves a substantial degree of premeditation, the abduction of the victim, or sexual or sadistic conduct;
b) the murder of a child if involving the abduction of the child or sexual or sadistic motivation;
c) a murder done for the purpose of advancing a political, religious or ideological cause; or
d) a murder by an offender previously convicted of murder.
The judge equated it with being as serious as c) because he was a policeman which justified the whole life order. Not really sure I understand that but will read the full sentencing remarks when they are published later no doubt.

EDIT: Oh, here they are. That was quick!

93% of killers convicted of murder and manslaughter between March 2018 and March 2020 were men. Most of them known to the victim. So be careful of these kind and caring men you know and the nice male dog walker you see of a morning. Women are that low risk of offending opposed to men that they do not use category’s in female prisons. A petty young thief can be sharing a cell with the likes of Myra Hindley.
