It shocked me 4 days later after being matched he was placed with them I spoke to my mum about when she first met me and my sister we was adopted late 90/“ early 2000s they come and see us with out our knowledge first we was shopping and they see us then we had multiple visits at foster carers then had day visits at our parents then week ends then went for a week went back to foster carers for a weekend then we went and moved in we was adopted though courts about a year later , it was constant adoption courses they had the get references from employers and friends they went in the medical financial also wanted to know everything about my mum and dad from birth and as we were classed as look after children we had regular visits with social worker , any dr or hospital visits are flagged to social as you have a mark next to your name I don’t understand how they have let the ball down I can’t stop thinkhbg Bout Preston poor little boy , I would have thought the process has got tougher not easier with lack of supervision
That sounds like a much better way to do it. Of course a child is going to be unsettled if they are suddenly taken from everything they know. ☹

Is this being reported live today? Can’t find any updates on MEN.

The fact JV had the door locked with the key in the door suggests something untoward was going on inside. I will lock the door if I’m bathing the kids or napping but to leave the key in suggests he didn’t want to be interrupted.
Not on today back mon

I wonder if JV and JMF are still together or if they have parted and JMF Is going to blame JV to try to save himself.
I feel like Jamie is the worst out of them. I feel like the pictures he sent was maybe testing the water. Whether John got on board we don’t know yet but he appears meak and no backbone. He would have known Jamie was struggling and probably being inappropriate.

Hidden for those who don’t want to read, it was mentioned in court on 27/04 the reason the prosecution believe the picture is indecent and sexual abuse.

The picture of Preston deliberately positioned and photographed slumped over the bars of the cot whilst asleep show liquid dripping from his mouth. Forensic swabs taken from the bars of the cot examined, stains consistent with the presence of fluid containing saliva, the microscopic characteristics of a sperm cell and a mixed DNA result that could have originated from cells from Preston and Mr McGowan-Fazackerly were found on that swab.
But that doesn’t prove anything came from Preston’s mouth apart from drool. They didn’t test his drool, they tested the cot bars. They can’t prove the sperm cells came from his drool. Believe me I wish they could.

I was confused by this too, but my teacher friend told me that a lot of their heads of years aren't actually PGCE qualified. So they can't teach a class, but can do a head of year / SENCO type role as they are more pastoral. To teach a class, you do your PGCE.
To teach children you need Qualified Teacher Status QTS without this your role is support. SENCOs always have QTS because of the nature of their role which is far more than pastoral. I know this because I have been in the profession since Noah counted the animals on to the arc. Then tried to count children getting on a bus for a field trip. The arc was a successful count, the bus not so good.

I’m pretty sure it was evidence revealed on the stand last week by the social worker, in relation to Preston’s biological family. I thought at the time it was breaching confidentiality.
Yes, and there was also some mention of a family member of the foster mother, I think, and I was wondering if that had breached confidentiality.

Same! This trial is really affecting my mental health, I literally cannot stop thinking about Preston. I’m sure I read somewhere that his bowels were punctured? Gosh that breaks my heart
That’s the part I can’t stop thinking about, that must be 100% positive proof. Some of the other charges are wishy washy.

Yes, I noticed the Jurassic Park t-shirt and also the crying for his Mum 😡
I wonder how he's coping on remand? I can't find which prison he's in but I saw that McGowan was in Frankland, which is known as Monster Mansion, along with Wakefield.
I reckon he's looking at 18 years minimum, if he's found guilty, as that is what the murderers of both Leiland James Corkhill and Elsie Scully Hicks got, and they are very similar cases, in fact this case is worse because of the SA.
Regarding McGowan, I really don't know if he'll be found guilty, in those other cases, the husbands were not found guilty of allowing the deaths.
In Elsie's case, I'm not even sure if the husband was charged with anything?
if he’s found guilty would he not get a whole life order?

So the dna found in prestons pants 🤮🤯😭
Both dna found on them... anyone know what they mean by this comment ?

"not unexpected given the domestic nature of the case"
I think they mean because they all live together, their sexual DNA could be argued to be found on clothing in the house (using old laundry to wipe up) 🤢

I feel so much for this jury, I felt sick just reading part of the opening.
I actually can’t believe they basically tortured that poor baby. I don’t even have any words.
HOW can they be pleading not guilty?! I asked the other day on the crime thread whether the defence did an opening statement or not or whether they deferred their statement until after the prosecution rests as I wasn’t following initially, I tried to search but couldn’t find one.
Nothing has been said yet from the defence.

He had a perforated bowel which they said had happened shortly before hospital admission. This alone is very serious and he would have needed to be hospitalised for this.

Woah wtf!? Could i ask where have you seen that reported, curious because I must have missed reading the reporting of that info. Thought I'd read all the court docs.

That poor little boy. It is just horrific.
