JV is charged with a lot offences, murder, 2 counts of assault by penetration, sexual assault and 13 accounts of making indecent images. Poor baby.
This has been my thought from the very beginning of this trial, too.Unfortunately I've been feeling like all the info put out from the start has already been trying to suggest that the actual cause of death was suffocation/choking due to an oral sexual assault. Because that would then make sense as to why JV would claim Preston slipped underwater in the bath even though all he was obviously dry, when there'd be far more plausible cover stories ... unless he somehow needed to alert doctors that Preston had choked on or inhaled some kind of liquid (even if his own saliva) to get him the right emergency treatment.
Though I'd really love to be wrong for the sake of that poor baby

There is (as far as I have seen) any evidence to suggest Preston was placed with those monsters to tick equality and diversity boxes. Happy to be proved wrong.It's terrible. Just terrible.
This is what ticking boxes and fulfilling "equality and diversity" quotas does - it places totally unsuitable people in positions where they can accidentally or intently - do harm, and ill-intentioned and incompetent people will gravitate towards it like moths to a flame., demanding their "rights", and the vulnerable and voiceless suffer - but somewhere an organisation can tick a box and bask in the glow of virtue.
Yet another baby has died in pain and terror, alone and helpless. Another social work department will doubtless claim that "lessons will be learned".
We all know that they won't, and that more children will suffer.
I know social workers are overworked - it is in so many ways a thankless task of drudgery - but so many babies and children suffer and die because the social workers are either frightened of the carers (in rough violent families of every class), or are blinded by the glamour of middle-class comfort/ professionalism or ticking a gay/ trans box and so ignore or miss signs that a blind man on a galloping horse at midnight would see clearly.

To teach children you need Qualified Teacher Status QTS without this your role is support. SENCOs always have QTS because of the nature of their role which is far more than pastoral. I know this because I have been in the profession since Noah counted the animals on to the arc. Then tried to count children getting on a bus for a field trip. The arc was a successful count, the bus not so good.
