Preston Davey Trial #4

JMF has such main character energy. He's angry that JV (according to him) didn't tell him things, he's angry that videos were taken, he's angry at the process, he's angry at the questioning, but he's never angry FOR Preston.

My nephew is on the blind register. He can see a couple of feet in front of him and has problems distinguishing colours and depth. My 2 other nephews have had squint surgery. None of them were ever been covered in bruises as babies, toddlers or active boys.
I have a 6yr old waiting for squint surgery, yeh she’s clumsier than average - but that started about 2.5yrs when she started running around. Barely ever had a bruise until that point.

‘At any stage prior to Preston’s death did any healthcare professional indicate to you that this type of injury was associated with inflicted harm?’ Ms Whyte asks.

I wish they'd asked healthcare professionals how common that type of injury is in babies too.

This feckin word "twizzled" that they both keep using!
Another poster said yesterday, the words they use, it's like they are trying to be endearing -

Wow, he's fully going for backing up JV. Either they are lying about Preston not crying with a broken arm or that poor boy was so used to learning that tears were ignored by that point that he didn't cry.

I take it to mean that him having these chest infections is due to regularly being choked by the SA causing him to inhale stuff into his lungs?

Exactly, how would he keep getting them otherwise? He didn't go to nursery or spend time around other kids by the sounds of it, so where would he be picking up bugs?

I don't believe for a minute a baby that age hasn't screamed and cried at his arm being hurt like that.

I thought the exact same thing. He wasn’t around other kids to pick up bugs, only these two monsters. Surely that should have been another massive red flag for his social workers!

The video showing Preston pulling the toy box back on himself and JV having it as ‘proof’ as to how the bruises were caused on his head has always struck me as odd.
Not only for the fact that you’d not film that and you’d stop it from happening but it actually reminded me so much of my abusive ex partner.

He would always be armed with ‘proof’ of things that didn’t necessarily need proving for example if I caught him in a lie or he’d be trying to accuse me of something, he’d produce ‘proof’ - now this ranged from fake messages, fake phone calls, fake bank statements, screenshots etc but I think it is a fairly common tactic for manipulators. They’re always ready to justify their actions/behaviours but almost before anyone’s even challenged them.

“Clumsy” and “poor eyesight” really are tit excuses for Preston being covered in head bruises. Most parents are horrified when their baby gets hurt on their watch, because it means one of two things: you were failing to watch them closely enough, or you failed to baby proof the room well enough. It’s your failure, not theirs. Accidents happen, but to airily wave off constant bruising as “Preston’s fault” is so callous and - crucially - proof of their cruelty.

I take it to mean that him having these chest infections is due to regularly being choked by the SA causing him to inhale stuff into his lungs?
Yes, I think it’s highly likely that aspirating “stuff” into his lungs (we can probably guess what) was the cause of the infection(s).

“Jamie has always shown me how much he doted on and loved Preston. He’s never said anything to me that made me think even for an instance or a second that my son is going to come to any harm if I leave that property.

“He’s never said anything that makes me think something’s not right, something’s not adding up. He’s never said anything to make me even question that leaving the house, I would come home and my world would just collapse on that day”, he says.

From the latest update - it's all still present language, about how JV 'has never' and 'always shown me' not referring it to past like 'he never did anything' which makes me even more sure they're still together and colluding like the two horrible guys they are.

The picking Preston up with his hands sounds suss surely he would be lift out of the cot being held under the armpits?

JMF story about the broken arm is possibly half true. JV went to pick him up by his hands and possibly swung him back down in temper! 😡

"Mr McGowan-Fazakerley says Preston was happy on the morning of July 27. The defendant changed Preston’s nappy and took his laptop to the lounge to work while Mr Varley gave him his breakfast."

So they DID change his nappy? Or have they forgotten to get that bit of their story straight.

Mr McGowan-Fazakerley says he left the Salford office just after 4.45pm. There was a 36-minute phone call at 17.45 - the defendant explains he would always call on the way home from work.

‘I remember calling him and having that conversation. I said I’m on my way home. Do you need me to stop at Tesco's to get anything? He said no, I’ve got dinner sorted, come straight home Beautiful.’

He says he didn’t say anything about Preston being unwell.

‘I remember he was very happy and cheerful. It was a happy, normal conversation. Nothing was said’, he says.

36 MINUTE PHONE CALL?! What a load of (awful) balls.

ETA: The next update says GPS has him getting home at 6.15pm - surely this would mean the 36minute phonecall took them all the way up to him arriving home, and so JV couldn't have been trying to help Preston and also how could he have not told JMF that he was unwell?
Am I misunderstanding?

The use of uncommon and specific words just shows when there has been the development of a shared story. Twizzled isn't a common word to describe what happened, but they both used it?

You could see it in the Chris Trybus trial when a witness mentioned there was a "disconnect", showing that they had been following the trial and picked up on that as a reason.

Knowing this phone call was 36 minutes, I think I’m now 99.9% certain JV told JMF that Preston was effectively dying/not recovering like usual and they’ve agreed on a story to tell - this is what I’d be thinking if I was on the jury anyway.

I hope the cross picks up on the nappy change difference and the length of this phone call coupled with the medical evidence that Preston was likely already dead (or near enough) when JMF arrived home

I’ve just read that too, and thought before on his last day they said that it wasn’t changed before getting dropped at JV Mum’s. Have they got the story wrong or it a subtle dig at JV that Preston did not have those final injuries near to post mortem when he was with JMF

A phone call at 17.45 for 36minutes, before JMF arrives home at 18.15pm and yet he's asking us to believe that Preston was really unwell, having just got out of the bath and JV was trying to stop him being sick.

The bath he was having whilst JV was in the shower for 'a few minutes conditioning his hair' and then left him unsupervised for 'a few minutes' whilst he found a towel/his pyjamas/towel dried his hair/blow dried his hair and then went back and found Preston (half) face down having fallen from his bath seat. After this bath, Preston wouldn't stop being sick so JV was trying to stop that when JMF arrived home and he had been sick so much the room stank and he was really unwell... and then 'went floppy'

How can all the bath stuff happen if they were on the phone from 17.45 to 18.21 (36mins)? Are they timetravellers?

Unfortunately I think he was probably dead at this point and this phone call is JV telling him what's happened and them concocting a story
