I'm actually lost for words!

JMF on the stand so far is absolute bat tit!

So, you are so 'in love' with someone and far too busy to properly check the distressing videos you have been sent - due to your partner being sassy/an attention seeker, and you being busy at work.

You have attended multiple hospital visits, as ' your little one ' suddenly presents with seizures and Injuries - even though they didn't all throughout their time in foster care

Your treasured and loved son actually dies

You are questioned

You distance yourself from your partner

Then you return to a relationship with them again, live together and get a new job.

Then you are arrested, told and shown really horrific and sinister things.

You attended court and apparently see baby Preston being left in a bath for 14 min and all the other evidence ( his horrific injuries)' for the first time'.

How could you not be screaming out about how much has been kept from you? About how much baby Preston must have suffered and how manipulated and kept in the dark you have been?

How did this lying piece of 💩 not go into histrionics on seeing and hearing what we haven't had the full, excruciating, details of ' for the first time' ?

How is he even daring to remain so calm and only show true upset for himself?

How can he still spin JM in the loving, protective father light?

They are both as bad as each other in my opinion.

I also think that JM has hinted that his mum's partner also saw Preston that day, I wouldn't be suprised if he somehow tried to appeal and blame someone else.

They are both sniveling conniving, peverted, psychopaths.

Studying for a PHD at one point in his life and he can't see where this evidence is pointing ... To me he also needs a life order. They are both insulting anyone that loved or cared for Preston, the proffesionals involved with this case and the general public.

Sorry for the rant
This trial will not have been the first time JMF has seen these videos and photos. Even if we accept his account that he hadn’t seen them from JV, we can definitely assume that his barrister would have shown them to him long before the trial began.

JMF is clearly far more intelligent than JV, though him maintaining a relationship with JV after Preston died will be his downfall. He could have claimed that he didn’t take an active part in parenting because of work / didn’t notice some bruises / trusted his partner who had been cleared by DBS and the adoption process etc etc… but the simple fact that, after the baby died and he was presented with all of this evidence, he continued in the relationship with JV shows an element of involvement and acceptance of what JV has done. There is also of course the possibility that he was complicit and took full part in the abuse.

This is actually spot on. Let's give JMF the benefit of the doubt for one tiny moment. He knew nothing, everything was fiiiine. Then why isnt he as utterly horrified by this as we all are! Why isn't he baying for blood! Why isn't he shouting lock this disgusting pdf up and throw away the key. Nah instead it's sassy and silly and dramatic oh JV what are you like.
Disgusting.

It’s because it’s old news to him, he saw it all unfold at the time with his own eyes so he can’t even act surprised like he’s just discovering it now

Well said! I honestly don't/ didn't think this is the ' first time' he has been aware of all this. I was just playing devils advocate. He's as guilty and complicit as hell

Your post above is excellent.
I nodded my head in agreement with every word.

I just can’t help but think if the doctor did their job properly when they first broke his arm and declared it a non accidental injury he would have been removed and had a good chance at life. I hope they are feeling guilty as hell
But how would the Dr know it wasn’t an accident. Plus it was reported anyway as Preston was a LAC.
It was a common type of injury in toddlers, it wasn’t a huge red flag.
I don’t think it helps anyone to put the blame on a Dr who probably had only an hour or two involvement. JV’s own mother didn‘t raise any issues.

I just don’t buy the answer that he hadn’t seen it before in its entirety - he would have seen it in disclosure.
He is saying he only saw it in full a few weeks ago.
He is definitely more intelligent than JV, actually it’s pretty convenient to stay in a relationship, keep JV sweet/make the most of your time then decide you’ve just realised he’s a muddying pdf right before the trial.

So would the doctor be now called in to answer why this has happened? Or do these things just get left alone after someone dies? Seems the social workers seem to get the brunt of it in the media after a case like this, but if it was an obvious non-accidental injury then surely they are now going to be in trouble?
the hospital will review and there will likely be a serious case review. I work in the child protection field and just don’t understand why a full child protection medical was not done other than everyone just presumed these 2 monsters were safe. Without a doctor agreeing an injury is NAI, it would leave very few avenues for the social worker to go down. I do wonder if there had been more professional curiosity that they could’ve pushed for a medical then the outcome for this baby boy could’ve been very different.

It almost seems like this trial is an inconvenience to him, like it’s just something he’s having to do, going through the motions. I can almost imagine them rolling their eyes at the sheer audacity of the questioning. As if it’s not a case where a baby has been sexually assaulted and killed. They both seem really arrogant and I hope they get an almighty shock at verdict time. I can’t wait for the dramatic whaling and screaming from JV as that guilty verdict comes in.

You are absolutely correct, this is exactly what it's like for them. God I hate them.
ETA to rant more: All of us are horrified and we haven't seen the photos, they've been described and our brains are protecting us from the full image. They are seeing these with their actual eyes and it's not impacting them at all.

I went back to the reporting from earlier on in the trial where they covered the arm injury and had various drs give statements etc. I hope they upload in the right order but effectively, they took JVs word for it due to how he presented at hospital that it was accidental. There was also a different account recorded by one dr which was discussed and I personally do believe, considering everything, that dr completed the details wrong.
The social worker was told and checked but appeared very ‘unofficial’ imo.
Then for the trial, they later had two independent experts who agreed it was a non-accidental injury. It’s a massive massive failure that it wasn’t considered as non-accidental at the point he attended. Bare in mind, the social worker had done a home visit TWO days before too…
The opportunity to save Preston was missed because the social worker spoke to the ward sister, who said the broken arm was nothing to worry about 😞

Is there a chance that he has gone along with JV's story so far to stop JV implicating him too, but when questioned by his own barrister will then throw JV under the bus as it would then be too late for JV's legal team to go for him ? I am thinking he then might say he is no longer in a realtionship with him, was horrified and disgusted etc etc once JV's team can no longer prove otherwise in court. Could be wrong but he seems very calculating and has had time to think it through = the glaring hole in his defence is that he stayed with JV.

I do think every single thing that comes out of his mouth has been rehearsed with JV and ran past him first. What else were they doing in 2 years they were allowed roam free in the community and get golden locks done. Every answer is almost exactly the same as JV only some of the cruelty charges he says "ok that's kinda bad but that's all we did to him".

Does anyone know who Mrs Graham is? I she Jamie’s mum because she is said in the court documents today to have six children and many grandchildren, that’s why the two buffoons went to Jamie’s mum’s when they needed to call 111 and JMF said it was reassuring to have her nearby,
I'm sure it was reassuring - someone else to witness how much they loved Preston, and how upset THEY were and how it wasn't THEIR fault and that they wouldn't hurt a hair of Preston's head etc etc etc.

Filth!

It’s not really the same as blaming bio dad. We are talking about a professional who didn’t do their job properly! I didn’t say it would guarantee his safety but could have put protective measures in place
Doctors, nurses, social workers - all failed Preston.

Yes - the injuries should have been flagged up, and dots joined, but the ones who ABUSED AND KILLED him were JV and JMF.

I'm sure there will be an inquiry. Whether "lessons will be learned" is another matter.

it’s not nice to think about, but doctors are human and things sometimes make sense at the time. And didn’t a nurse flag it somewhere and it didn’t get followed up? Or have I been deep diving into other cases and mixing it up?
I can remember a nurse flagging it up, too - and Preston's foster mum did her best to raise her concerns - she was worried sick about him.

It's the Victoria Hospital in Blackpool isn't it? That hospital has a terrible history of failing to protect patients. A woman was sexually assaulted on a ward and bled to death from her injuries. And several other possible victims

A different rapist worked there as a doctor

There were also staff drugging patients who they didn't want to have to deal with

Unsurprisingly it's not considered safe by the CQC and it's overall rating is inadequate.
I can remember reading about all of these incidences - I didn't realise it was the same hospital!

Poor Preston - everything in his life went against him in those last few months.

(Is it a particularly busy and understaffed hospital? I can't think how any hospital could be so appalling otherwise. (Not that there is an excuse for any of it, but if staff are grossly overworked, they may miss vital clues)
