The pic being sent from that paddling pool with the disgusting caption, and the fact that he was still naked hours later is breaking me 😭 was there any hour of any day where he wasn't preyed on for those whole 4 months 😭 I'm just devastated imagining him trying to convey to the social worker and JVs mother that things were really bad, and no one understanding 😭💔 this whole thing genuinely has me considering joining some sort of law enforcement! I want to drop pedos into wood chippers feet first. According to chatgpt there's no evidence that that would act as a deterrent, I think we should go ahead with it and collect some data 🤷‍♀️
According to chatgpt there's no evidence that that would act as a deterrent,

Even if it didn't act as a deterrent, it would serve a useful purpose- in fact, two: justice would be done, and the world would be rid of a vile predator.

(Though I would feed them into a furnace feet first)

I would love to know what JV's barrister* really thinks about him, especially given the agreement of both sides' pathologists on cause of death being suffocation, not drowning or choking on vomit. I may have missed it, but i don't remember hearing any kind of convincing alternative explanation for that.

*For those who don't know, he was the prosecution KC against Lucy Letby, and is formidable. But even the best silk can only work with what they've got, which in this case is a lying sack of tit.

I have never followed a court case to this degree. I have read all the court updates so far and after today I feel more relieved that the jury will find him guilty but I’m still concerned that JMF will get away with it.

The fact he is still in relationship with it says it all but he was there at so many other points even if not the final act.

Also I feel like I should do something tangible, just reading about this and knowing I will follow what happens to that pair for the rest of their lives isn’t enough.

How can we improve the responses of SW and Drs etc, I’m not blaming them but maybe if things had been investigated more throughly it wouldn’t have ended in such tragedy and suffering for Preston.

Lessons learned isn’t good enough. Maybe nobody really expects such evil. Even though it makes me feel sick and upset, I just think that’s nothing to what that poor baby went through and I want them locked up for as long as possible.

I also wish there was something positive to contribute to in Preston’s memory, maybe that’s twee, and I’m going loopy but I can’t stop thinking about what that baby went through.

I also wish we could fast forward to sentencing as even though I’m sure they will be found guilty, I just need to know!

I think professional training and long experience of the crimes people commit must give them a very specific focus of getting their job right, whether prosecuting or defending. As long as all KCs do their jobs right, JV's and JMF's convictions will be safe.

I think they must have ways of coping with what they have to see and hear, to restore some order and faith in the world at least.

He’s trying to manipulate big time on that stand, isn’t he? Subtle little hints here and there, throwing people under the bus but never quite obviously enough for them to fully turn against him. The stepfather got it today I see. This odious little toad of a man is highly dangerous and should never have been anywhere near children of any age. Prowling around disguised as a respectable middle-class teacher and safeguarding lead. It’s the stuff of nightmares.

It was either mentioned on here or on one of the early 'The Trial' podcast episodes that they said at the time they were "thrilled" to be getting a little boy
I'm sure on the Trail podcast episode that featured the evidence of JMF's Police interview he said they could look on the adoption agencies website at pictures of all the children available and it sounded like they selected Preston that way which made me feel really uneasy the way it was described. I've not seen anyone else pick up on this though so apologies if if had some weird vivid dream about this!

No I remember hearing that and thinking it sounded off.

I thought this sounded very strange too. No way should adopters be able to look at all the children available online and pick one they like the look of.

Vile. The two of them are getting a kick out of this I think, knowing what they both participated in together, feeling that it bonds them forever 🤢
I thought that was a very odd, and telling thing to say. Why would you only trust John with those images? Do you mean you trust him not to tell on you? Do you mean you were fully aware that the images appear sexualised so are not the fun, family shareable pictures you claim so you could only trust him to view them? I do like the way the prosecutor obviously has the measure of JV, pointing out he’s trying to not answer the questions directly and also pointing out his version of events is plainly a load of tit. It will be a consolation for having to voice what this beast has actually done, to see him get convicted and know it was his skills that have helped the jury.

I thought he said you couldn't see any images of children that way people wouldn't go for the cutest baby? It was only a description of the baby

I have thought this myself too. Imagine how long the abuse would have gone on for before he was able to tell someone, if it all. I’m so glad those vile monsters can’t touch him anymore, let’s hope he’s resting peacefully in heaven ❤
It could have continued for many years.

His speech would have been delayed because of fear, lack of appropriate conversational stimulation and most probably brain damage caused by repeated hypoxia.

Even when he did learn to talk, he would have been to frightened to speak out, and he wouldn't have had the vocabulary to describe what was happening - and because he would have been delayed in his development his "dads" would have been able to brush it off as him being of low intelligence and not knowing what he was talking about. They would have blamed the drugs his mother took in pregnancy.

He would also most probably have grown into a child with no friends because he would have been "odd" and likely developed a prurient and precocious interest in sex (another sign of sexual abuse) and other children would have been unlikely to have wanted to spend time with him - and even if they did, it is probable that their mothers would sooner or later have decided he was "creepy" and discouraged the friendship.

When he got too old to be of interest to his "dads" any more - who knows? Sold off? Passed around? (because IMO there are likely others involved in this); dumped on the streets? As an adult it is likely that he would have been severely mentally ill, and may well have become a PDFile in his turn.

Terrible as it is to say it, unless he had been rescued very soon from these vile men, his life would have been forever blighted, and he is better at peace. They could have pulled the wool over the social workers' eyes for a long time by the look of things.

That poor little boy had only a lifetime of misery to look forward to the moment he was placed under their control (I won't say "in their care").

Surely not!? That makes it sound like browsing through a catalogue as if picking a pet to take home. I think the kids get matched to the potential adopters rather than the other way around although I’m sure they put in their preferences. A non verbal baby boy please and thank you.

I also remember reading that the social workers wouldn't show photos of Preston, that they knew he was cute and wanted adopters to choose him on his personality. I'll look for that now.

How strange. Adoption certainly wasn’t like that 10 years ago when I had involvement. You didn’t even get to ‘pick’ whether it was a boy or girl (unless you already had a child and they expressed interest in a certain gender sibling). Most people are just glad of the chance to be parents and gender doesn’t matter.

As I say I may have picked it up wrong as I did find it odd no one else mentioned it here. They were using an actor to voice what he had said and I can't find a transcribe of his Police interview so I'll have a listen again in the morning to the podcast.

I thought I had heard this too and remember thinking it was odd. Maybe it was worded wrongly on the podcast and they didn’t actually see pictures.

They should go in two different male Cat A accommodations on conviction:

Frankland (Co Durham): Sutcliffe, Huntley and Abedi were there, Couzens, Bellfield, Adebolajo and at least one Tube bomber are still there. Very tough rep.

Wakefield: maybe not put JV in there, too many opportunities for him to chat to Sidney Cooke, Thomas Hughes, Mark Bridger and Roy Whiting in group therapy.

Belmarsh (London), another very tough and restrictive rep. Abedi's there, Copeland the nazi bomber, Axel Rudakubana, the Grindr killer, the crossbow killer, a number of gangsters and terrorists.

If JV suddenly feels he's turning into a woman, Joanna Dennehy is in Low Newton, adjacent to Frankland, and she's complained about not having enough cellmates.
Never mind the prisons - these deviants should never see the light of day.
UK prisons protect people like this. They are segregated from the 'normal' folk. Quite frankly, I hope they rot in hell.
