27 weeks pregnant and I keep getting hip spasm / pain! It’s so annoying and I’m sure I didn’t have this until almost 37 weeks with my first. Does anyone have any tips for alleviating the pain?

Also what are people’s thoughts on bump belts/bands? Any good recommendations
My bump was huge with my first so I bought the momcozy one . It’s quite comfortable but my midwife told me not to wear it for long periods so I generally just put it on when I needed some relief

I didn’t use it in my second pregnancy . Might have to dig it out for this one though, we’ll see !

I’m booked in to start off induction tomorrow and I feel so mentally crap. I didn’t want this, it was my worst fear tbh and the thought of not knowing how long I’ll be away from my first born actually breaks me. It makes it worse it’s the weekend so he wont even be at school. Had a massive breakdown to my husband last night and he done what men always do and tried to rationalise but my anxiety doesn’t care about that. I just find myself bursting into tears randomly. Sorry for the rant and negativity, I wish men could give birth cause I’m over this!

Baby is measuring big so I had a second glucose test which was slightly high and now I’m having to take glucose readings 4 times a day. I’m 34 weeks and got given the equipment yesterday- have to do a pin wick on my finger then put the blood on a strip for the machine to read the lev. Have a growth scan in a couple of weeks and will see the doctor immediately after. Also baby is breech. I’m so cba with it all 😫

I had to do the tests from first trimester because I was high risk of GD. My blood sugar was the only thing that actually behaves throughout my pregnancy!

Has anyone had an early gender blood test? Window to the womb do it from 7 weeks and it says it’s 99% accurate but never hear of anyone having it??

Sort of. I paid for a private NIPT because I wasn’t able to have it on the NHS because the sonographer couldn’t get the NT measurement in the scan due to the baby’s position. They were able to determine the sex of the baby as a free optional extra and we wanted to know so we included that. It was later than 7 weeks though, must have been 13-14 weeks. It was accurate!

I had it, they told me I was having a boy and I am! It was also accurate for my sister in law! I had it at 7 weeks 4 days.

Absolutely fine, you soon find a ‘favourite’ finger lol

Haha that’s funny because I think I’ve already found it as it gives a lot of blood. Some of my fingers barely give anything!

Hello!
Tentatively parking myself here as I’ve just found out I’m pregnant with my second!
Had a chemical a few months ago so feeling crazy anxious this time round that it’s going to happen again so if anyone can help with this with success stories etc that would be amazing!
holy hell I am SHATTERED and I don’t remember that from last time but I didn’t have a toddler then 🫣

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Pregnancy after loss is so tough. I had a miscarriage followed by a chemical last year. Now 18 weeks pregnant and all going well so far. First trimester was tough with anxiety, sickness and exhaustion (also have a toddler). I found booking an early private scan helpful as offered some reassurance.

Congratulations to you! I found pregnancy after a loss terribly difficult and the first trimester was hell. I did have a 7 week scan on the NHS so having that before the 12 week really helped calmed my nerves. Time goes soooo slowly from when you find out in the early weeks to the first scan.

Mini pasta has made it to 16 weeks. Unsure if my pelvis will make it to 40, though. It is SO sore. The only thing that helps is my Snüz pregnancy pillow — it keeps everything stable. Can I do the school run in it?!

I can’t seem to catch a break with colds this pregnancy. I just got rid of one and have got another which is taking weeks to shift. Any remedies/tips? I have a toddler in nursery which is not helping.

Thank you both so much for this! I didn’t think I’d find it as hard as I am but it doesn’t help that I’m a bit obsessed with whether I’m feeling my symptoms as much etc. with the chemical I knew cause I woke up and just didn’t feel any symptoms at all and felt “normal”.

Will definitely take both your advice and book an early scan for reassurance!
Hope you’re both doing well following your losses and your pregnancies are now going well!

What prams have you all got / are looking at ?

this is our third baby but we didn’t really anticipate we’d have a third so after our daughter was born we sold basically all our baby stuff . We had a Ickle Bubba which was fine for our first two but really was all we could afford

but this time my dear Granny who is 92 has offered to pay for our pram . She said she never thought she’d get to see 1 great grandchild , let alone 3 , and is giving us £1000 towards our pram . Which is amazing !!!

I’ve always dreamed of having a Silver Cross and I think the Cove looks suitable for what we need but I’m just not sure . I’m only 13 weeks so have plenty of time to decide I suppose . But I’m just curious to see what everyone else has opted for and what you recommend ?

Me again to moan again. 35 weeks tomorrow! Baby is measuring big and also breech. I have a scan next week to check the size and position again and then will see a doctor immediately afterwards to discuss.

Both husband and I were knocked out this past weekend by yet another illness which we think we caught from our toddler who is in nursery. Thankfully toddler was only a bit off.

I also have to do daily glucose testing as my repeat gestational diabetes test was a bit high.

I feel so heavy and tired and have lost all motivation for everything. Luckily with this one being our second I don't have much to do preparation wise as we still have all the baby stuff from our first.

I just want to go into hibernation until the baby comes out. Every hour of the day is currently a struggle!

I think it depends on what kind of area you live in, how often you will be driving with the baby and how big your car is.

I got a Joie travel system with my first. It was fine for going on walks locally but if I had to keep lugging it in and out of the car, it would have been too heavy and bulky. I also rarely attached the car seat to the pram as it wasn't really necessary for us. I live in a city so the bulkiness of it wasn't really that handy when going into small shops/cafes/restaurants etc. However the wheels were good for the winter and muddy park walks.

As soon as baby could sit up we switched to the Joolz AER travel pram (which does actually lie flat too but faces out) and we now use that as our main pram daily for our son who is 17 months old.

If I could go back I would get a light travel style pram that also has a bassinet attachment, like the Joolz AER or the Yo Yo. I think they are more worth it as you will end up using it longer. But like I said, I really do think it depends on where you live and the car situation.

I see a lot of the Nuna Mixx around which I did test and it is quite light and not that bulky.
