I’ve been basically smug about the fact that I am not elbow deep in heatwave territory, but my gosh I am being absolutely defeated by hayfever today. I did a lot of googling and came to the conclusion that I could use cetirizine tablets, beconase nasal spray and the sodium cromoglycate eyedrops. Which I am using to the letter but it isn’t even touching the sides at the moment, and this is the stuff I usually take. Brutal.

Glucose tolerance test and 28 week appt tomorrow. The no eating thing is going to be a challenge although today I acted less like I was going to die from hunger than I did yesterday, so that’s an improvement. Can’t decide if it will be nice or horrendous to have a couple of hours off work to go to my appt or not!

Feeling so deflated today. Due on Thursday and had an appointment today for a sweep. Midwife couldn’t do it as she couldn’t reach my cervix. They then couldn’t book me back in for another appointment as none of the midwives have any availability in their diary. I did however receive a phone call saying I’m booked in for induction on the 11th. I really do not want to be induced this time!

Fingers crossed for you. I went for my first sweep at 40+1 this time and she said I was 2cm dilated but head was no where near far down enough. I went into labour the following evening. It can happen so much quicker second time around! I also had been pressured to book an induction for 41 weeks but I told them I would be rearranging it to 41+6 earliest (unless there was a medical reason to have it).

It’s been pretty rough down south today! Glad it’s going back to mid twenties tomorrow. The no eating wasn’t too bad - the only thing that wasn’t great is that I think I didn’t drink enough water as the blood draws were a tiny bit sore (I’ve really not felt them!) and left some bruising. If you can take a book and a phone charger for the wait. It’s really not that bad - the drink is not my most favourite thing but given my 20s it was not the worst thing I’ve drunk…..

also - happy third trimester twinny!

@ThisIsMyDragName second the suggestion to take a book! And some water and snacks for after you are done.

Had an ultrasound today. For a second there I was worried because the heartbeat didn't seem regular enough, turns out baby was moving too much to pick up enough consecutive heartbeats 🤣 so no surprise I didn't get a pic today.

This is baby 3 for me and I’m hoping that is the case 😂 my previous 2 were precipitous labours and were both already born at this stage. Babies head is really low down but my cervix is still very posterior. I’m not going to go ahead with the induction either unless medically necessary, I will agree to monitoring in the first instance.

Happy third trimester to you! This went really fast but also really slow at the same time.

I brought a book but I can’t be bothered with it. I just want a nap, haha. And some breakfast because I’m starving.

The drink was ok. Syrupy, which made it a bit grim. JuniorDragName loved it though, it’s like my American Fanta escapades all over again, he’s raving at the moment 🤣🤣

Is anyone getting impatient to meet baby? I’m 33 weeks and feel I’m wishing the weeks away
Partly because work is sending me over the edge and partly because I feel I have been waiting forever to meet the baby 🥹🥹

Basically feeling all the emotions 😂

I’m 33 weeks pregnant and so fed up…it feels like a weird limbo…I’m hot and heavy but praying the next few weeks are smooth.

i have a couple of busy weeks at work then taking leave and then mat leave (had to use up my leave)

I’m having my c section at 39 weeks so I have around 4 weeks off before baby arrives.

what the hell do I do in that time? I can’t be arsed with doing anything too energy sapping. I can nest which I’m doing, maybe I did that too soon.

any suggestions welcome

Second this. Just relax as much as you can. I really miss being able to just rot guilt free. I don’t regret any of the lie ins I had before my first arrived.
Echo this. I have to wake up at 6.30am/7am every day when baby wakes up (even if husband takes her for the morning, I still get woken up). And that’s late compared to some of my friends whose babies wake up at 5am. Oh, and this is after 7 months of broken sleep. Seriously, SLEEEEEP!!!

Not me furiously refreshing Badger Notes for my OGTT results 🤣 I was told they’d be back today and I’ll get called if there is an issue or it’ll just go onto Badger notes if not.

We don't even get Badger Notes where I am 🙈 Not a thing here unfortunately. It's like living in the snail mail age.

My bloods are normal. I feel like I am defying the odds as an old large pregnant lady and I’m loving it! Don’t get me wrong, I realise that women of all shapes and sizes can develop GD and the actual increased risk comes from having a placenta in your body, but the NHS loooooove to large shame. They’re also really set on checking my blood pressure, fortnightly from now on I think, because of my ‘elevated pre-eclampsia risk’ aka being large and old. Blood pressure has consistently been perfect.
For reasons unknown they decided to re-check my blood type this time around, which funnily enough hasn’t changed 🤣 and my iron levels, which still remain perfectly within range.
To be fair to everyone except the horrible sonographer, nobody has been remotely large shaming of me. I was weighed at yesterday’s appointment but they didn’t tell me what my weight was. The gain was a bit higher than my home scales had suggested but I don’t think it was outrageous. The obstetrician requested I be given a leaflet about being a fatty and they haven’t given it to me, which I appreciated. But, the scars of being treated as nothing other than a large person by GPs (as recently as a year ago) linger with me, so I am constantly feeling like I have to prove myself by demonstrating how it is possible to have a normal pregnancy whilst being tubby and ancient.

Feel this exact same way. And this is my second pregnancy. I’ve been given a blood pressure machine to check it twice a week from now on. Everything is fine ie my bloods and baby’s heartbeat and my bump measurements (even though I still think it’s a stupid way of doing anything) but you still feel like you’re “not good” because they want to check your blood pressure etc. so I totally get how you feel.
