My hunger has been off the scale today. I demolished everything in my lunch box, felt so hungry it felt like I hadn’t eaten all day in the afternoon which made my drive home torture. Was trying to eat a couple of snack a jack rice cakes to tide me over when I got home but Mr DragName had some sort of death wish and distracted me from them, but I ate them anyway whilst he made dinner. Demolished my dinner and I’m still sat here feeling like I didn’t eat today. As a lifelong fatty who was conditioned into barely eating 3 meals a day and could easily go without food for a whole day, this feels wild! I’m trying to eat reasonably healthy and varied food but it doesn’t seem to matter what I shove down my throat, I’m still starving!

Any tips? Any foods that have helped you not feel like you’re dying? Honestly the sensation is so dramatic, haha!

Given the heat wave, are you sure it's not that you are very thirsty? Or you are craving something and have been dancing around it trying to eat something healthier?
I'm personally in the I cannot physically fit more food, there's no space for it.

I'm the same at the moment. Are you hydrated enough? This is just based off cursory reading on the pregnancy boards on Reddit and someone who claimed to be a dietician saying dehydration can mess with your hunger cues and make you feel extra hungry and to try hydration aids. plus I'd definitely read it somewhere else too when I last experienced a rash of permahunger. Anyway I had a Lucozade Sport today and yesterday for the electrolytes and the permahunger was less intense today.

That and going hard on the protein for snacks so I've been smashing Fridge Raiders.

I’m in Scotland, so it was a bit humid today but the top temp was 23. Which is hot for Scotland but not hot! I definitely have my naughty food cravings but I would literally shovel pretty much anything in my gob right now, healthy or unhealthy. I’m trying to keep the snacking little and often because I’ve definitely experienced feeling full before if a portion is too big (although I am sure this is yet to each its peak as I’m 27 weeks) but it’s literally like the boy has stolen all the food from me for himself today, which I realise is biologically impossible.

I was going through this but I think it’s calmed down. I had brought extra food with me into the office and had eaten most of it by 11am… I hope nobody noticed ha. I was also going to sleep feeling hungry! But I’m not eating at 11pm. I mentioned it to my mum and she said she had the exact same when pregnant, had to stop for a sit down meal alone in town while shopping.

I don’t think it’s was dehydration for me as I drink a lot of water.

I don’t think I am because I’m not really in a heatwave place and my hydration levels have been about the same. If it’s as bad at work tomorrow I’ll go across to the shop and try a lucozade sport. Protein might be the way to go for my snacks, see if that tides me over!

This is basically me! Mr DragName joked with me when I said I have sometimes started my lunch at 11:30 and he said you can’t eat lunch till 12pm but I was on it about 11:59. Having eaten one of my snacks previous to that. I then got stuck into all my other snacks through the afternoon and was sat there starving 🤣 I cannot convey to my husband how intense the hunger is, so when he interrupted my snack a jack session I got close to filing for divorce 🤣🤣🤣

I wake a lot during the night anyway, mostly because I need a wee, but I lie in bed desperately trying to get back to sleep at like 3-4 in the morning starving as well. Most of the time I can just force myself back to sleep but occasionally I give up and go downstairs for some brown toast or something.

Mine is like this too on and off!! One minute I’m not hungry and barely eating then the next day I’m starving like I could eat a scabby horse 😂

But yes I hear you on the dramatic feeling. I was wandering round on Sunday evening going "I AM SO DISTRESSED! I EAT AND EAT AND DON'T FEEL FULL" and then decided to go and get Lucozade and went down the road to Tesco Express and came back with
- Lucozade Sport
- salt and vinegar snack a jacks
- pack of haddock goujons for freezer as thought oooh posh fish finger sandwich (yellow sticker section)
- 2 x Pukka all steak pies for freezer (yellow sticker section)
- 3 multipacks of fridge raiders
- 2 large individual bags of fridge raiders
- 1 multipack of Rocky bars
- 2 bags of pork scratchings
- 2 packs of mini calippos
- 1 pack Mr Jubblys

Speaking of, salt and vinegar snack a jacks smeared with houmous is also one of my go tos at the moment

Has anyone got experience with a Momcozy baby carrier?
I have one but it only faces inwards and baby Rosey has hated facing inwards for a couple of months now. 🥲 I’ve barely had her in it for a total of 15 mins! I’m gutted because it’s so lovely and I got it in the constellation pattern!

All my mum friends with babies a few months ahead all rate the Ergobaby Omni 360. I just bought one off of Vinted as the forward facing option encourages the M shape whereas the Infantino carrier (which Mr Rosey prefers) doesn’t. I’m excited for it to arrive!

We love the Omni was still using it forward facing with Baby Lava up to about 15 months although he is a lower centile baby. With this baby I’m just going to borrow a newborn carrier or wrap from a sling library and then when they’re old enough switch to the Omni. They’re expensive but not Artipoppe expensive lol and have really good resale value so that’s my justification haha.

I only started researching carriers and slings last night and couldn’t get over the price of some of them. The Artipoppe look lovely but wow!

It’s insane! The price of some of the designer must haves that all the influencers get gifted and say you must have like a Tripp Trapp high chair and Snoo bassinet is honestly daylight robbery to me 🤣 I’ll just stick with my Ikea high chair thanks lol.

Also highly recommend the ergobaby omni as I wanted one that would be safely outward facing as my baby hates being inward (and she’s a bit too big for that now anyway). Also had a great experience using a sling library as the woman was so knowledgeable - I went to Madeleine at Sheen Slings who also has loads of online content to save you making a trip out

do you recommend it? Looking at it for my baby!
he has the baby bjorn mini carrier at the moment and it’s okay but the antipoppe looks so good 👀
Yes, annoyingly it’s 100% worth the money 😂 we have the zebra zeitgeist - I had to compromise and let my husband pick the pattern as he didn’t want anything too girly 🤣 we looooove it. I’m actually excited to use it again for this baby!!

What age/weight did you find it was good to?

For us personally about 14 months, but he was an early walker (from about 10 months) so it was more that he didn’t want to be carried anymore rather than us wanting to stop 🥲
Before that he loved being in it, we used it to climb mountains and all sorts. They sell really well too so once you’re done you can make a fair amount of your money back on them 🥰
