Question for the mama's with older kiddos... How do you avoid toddlers kicking the bump? Like is it just a case of dodging/blocking and explaining? Or does it even overly matter? 🙈 For context I'm 24 weeks and my toddler (2 years 2 months) kicks my bump a fair bit 😬. It's never out of malice, just during nappy changes messing or swimming etc. I do try explain but I think it goes over his head 😂
Just dodge! I’m 36 weeks almost and my toddler is 22 months, he absolutely doesn’t understand despite my trying and often either gives bump a kick during nappy changes or plonks himself down hard on my knee for a cuddle and bashes bump. I guess it’s true what they say about second babies being resilient!

I'm glad it's not just me! Dodging is probably the only option, I do feel guilty sometimes but I think it's unavoidable to a certain extent when you have a toddler 🤷🏻‍♀️. Second babies better be resilient when they are entering the tornado of toddler chaos 😂 maybe I'm just overthinking it, when I was pregnant the last time, I was still handing farm animals up to about 37 weeks and the possibility of a kick never even occured to me 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Had my 20 week scan today and they confirmed it’s definitely a girl!
She wouldn’t play ball and I have to go back for the remaining measurements

I'm 22 weeks now and have been feeling the baby moving the last few weeks but today barely felt her and tried all the tricks to get her moving this evening and nothing works. I am not sure whether to call the midwives though as I know it's still early and probably just the position she's in. They did say I would start to notice a pattern from 24 weeks, so I don't want to waste anyone's time but also anxiety is in overdrive!
Always call triage even if it's just to put your mind at rest! I found the 20-24 week mark SO difficult though where I would feel movement but in no pattern at all, some days not much at all, I was anxious about it constantly, triage were always so helpful

Omg 7 weeks pregnant and my back feels like I am back carrying at 40 weeks wtf🥲 is it too early to get the pillow out, I’m so uncomfortable I don’t know what to do to help it😩
I got my pillow this early! My back pain has come and gone the whole time, I'm 33 weeks now and had way worse pain early second trimester than now. It's like my body keeps adjusting then it's fine

Agree!
@Hinchhater1442 get anything you’ll use for support out now and if you’re buying anything new, the sooner you get it, the better value for money! No point suffering.
But if you’re achey in the lower back watch out for a UTI brewing.

Hi all, long time lurker on this thread but now I’m 37 weeks I’m trying to get last things sorted and have some questions popping up! Current one is - do you buy a mattress protector for your travel system bassinet?
We bought mattress protectors for our Snuzpod and our Moses basket, but just set our travel system up and realised the bassinet base isn’t waterproof (it’s like a cotton sheet over a sponge mattress).
Can any experienced mums advise whether we need one for the pram too? Surely nappy leaks/poonamis/sickness can happen in the pram too and I don’t want it ruined? Or could I add a puppy pad type thing under the sheet where the baby’s bum will go to prevent it getting to the mattress?
But the pram instruction manual says do not add any sheets or mattresses to the existing bassinet? Any advice would be appreciated!

I got a mattress protector and sheet for pram as he slept in it during the day and for a while at night (it's sleep safe) so much easier when they leak fluids of all sorts

We went for a 5D scan today! I was so worried it was going to be a waste of money because I have an anterior placenta but seeing my lil baby go from grumpy to smiley was all worth it 🥹
Oh wow, that’s AMAZING! How many weeks are you? At my last private scan the sonographer flipped it to 4D/5D/whichever it was but JuniorDragName was nestled all the way at the back, facing the back of my uterus, so I could sort of see the back of the head and shoulders but it was way too early and Junior is a little camera shy!

I’m 29 weeks tomorrow! 🙂 they also flipped it to 4D when I was about 16 weeks and the baby looked so small and skinny, like a small alien 😂 definitely looked more like a baby this time!

Our due dates are 1 day apart ❤ you’ve prompted me to book a 4D scan!

I always carried a pack of soft mints with me when i got a bout of heartburn i couldnt tolerate gaviscon liquid or the chalky tablet things 🤢 but my dad swears by extra strong mints when he has heartburn i cant tolerate them even not pregnant theyre too hot 😂 hence why i was always armed with green soft mints and they seemed to do the job for me and eased it, not good on the ahl choppers cos of sugar but definitely eased the heartburn

38 weeks today 🥵 question is will he stay in there until my ELCS next week or will I end up going in early? 😂 hopefully he stays put because we still have to build the snuzpod, sort the double pram out, clean the chassis and clean the whole house 🫠

It’s horrid. I can’t decide which I hate more, heartburn or the way Rennies feel in my mouth 🤢
It’s like I’m breathing fire right now 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m on omeprazole which I swear by but it’s not doing anything at this stage so I’m just sucking deflatines at a rapid rate

35+5 and been having tightenings all day AGAIN. I’ve had prodromal labour in both pregnancies and I’m fed up of people saying you’ll know when it’s the real thing because how will I know?!

Yoghurt (particularly Greek natural) was a godsend. Also helps support your natural gut bacteria which can help.

Do it!! It was an amazing experience
I’ve had about 7 scans in this pregnancy, I can’t stop booking private ones 😂 I just love seeing my baby 🥺
