Well I've officially reached the 'is it that I need a poo? Is it a Braxton Hick? Is the baby just pressing really hard today? Do I just feel randomly unwell? Is the early start of labour?' merry go round. Do I have days or weeks of this to endure? Who knows!

I saw the doctor he was actually lovely and reassuring and said i'd done the right thing getting checked out and wasn't wasting anyone's time! Very low chance its a clot on the scale thing they use as my only symptom was the localized pain so just have to keep an eye out for any swelling or redness but more than likely just a pulled muscle or something. Definitely feel better for going!

Anyone on here had to be prescribed iron tablets??? I don’t feel like mine are doing anything except make me constipated 😣

I’m 33 weeks now and have been on them since my booking. I don’t think they’re doing anything either other than making me nauseous and constipated. My midwife doesn’t seem too concerned as my haemoglobin is ok, my ferritin levels are shockingly low though!

Yes I got prescribed them from my booking and I’m only 13 weeks and already over it! Thinking of asking about an iron infusion but I don’t know if it’s a possibility or not

Yes, but weirdly mine are giving me the people 😂 well it’s either that or the third trimester hormones! But I’ve run out of them now. Consultant said that if my iron is still low I need an iron infusion but midwife said my bloods are fine, so who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

I definitely would enquire about an iron infusion if it’s an option. My midwife didn’t take bloods at my 32 week appt, but if my levels haven’t improved at my 34 week appt, I’m asking for one before I go into labour!

I can’t offer any positivity as I’m currently 26 weeks but I do feel the saying ‘misery loves company’ helps me when people are being negative or giving you unwanted opinions

I have suffered on and off with forms of ED and I have found being pregnant to be the most content with food & my body I have ever felt. I was petrified of the weight gain and how my body would look and feel but I am trying to embrace the fact I am going to have a wonderful baby after this. I have bad days where I panic but being pregnant and your body changing is temporary 🩷🩷
I could have written this myself. I’ve actually surprised myself at how much I’ve embraced my pregnant body and realise what a miracle a woman’s body is.

I have a history of problems with eating and I too was crapping myself even before I fell pregnant because it’s a total loss of control. It took me a few weeks to accept my body is doing what it needs to do to grow a baby and I’m impressed I’ve been ok with it. Remember your body is amazing and sometimes it is out of your control for a good reason.

I’m 26 weeks pregnant and whenever I get weighed I ask to not know and everyone has been very understanding I’ve also said it is potentially triggering which is respected.

My husband has been extremely supportive and I think he’s actually enjoying my bigger a and boobs which again I’ve surprised myself at but enjoyed it.

I have thought about post baby and already thinking I need to exercise etc BUT I stop myself thinking about it too much.

I am also with the mental health team but they have been utterly tit!!! My psychiatrist is a complete cowbag 😤🤣 and I haven’t even met her yet but she’s sent me some random unprofessional texts. Anyway what I want to say is speak with your midwife, mine has been amazing ❤

My midwife gave them to me without even waiting for my blood results to come back and tried to tell me this was some sort of protocol. My iron levels are fine, so I slung them in a drawer. There might be things you are and aren’t supposed to take them with/take at the same time or something? To help with absorption.

I’m taking iron pills. Normally they give me constipation but I’ve got diarrhoea apparently this can happen x

I’m on iron, but levels remained low so have had an infusion during the early May BH. Actual infusion was nothing to worry about and I’d have another. Can’t say my energy levels have changed but that may just be the 38 weeks pregnant talking lmao

Baby bubbles is here from emergency c section. We had a bit of a surprise - she is a girl, not a boy! We are beyond in love with her and because she is 35 weeks we need a few days in hospital.

Congratulations! Hope you are out and back home as soon as possible! Had you been told a boy in your scan?

You could try Spatone. It’s a different format so no constipation. It’ll be weaker than your tablets but alternate perhaps?

Re bodies after pregnancy, when it came to it I found that actually I didn’t mind the changes, partly too busy/tired to care, partly happy to accept the trade off, partly happy for the opportunity to have “an excuse”, and a little bit I quite enjoyed having a more “womanly”, stronger looking physique after always being pretty small. I found around 9 months my body started to “re-set” and at 12 months the squashy-ness from pregnancy had mostly gone down without any work but I don’t think it would have gone back until it was ready no matter how much work I put in. My figure/shape has changed and after 4 years almost constantly breastfeeding my boobs do look deflated but I feel like previously my body’s job was to look good - my concern was feeling attractive, now my concern is being healthy for my kids, having fed my babies, it’s a priority shift I didn’t know would come. I care far less about it than I ever thought I could.

I do wish I had my pre pregnancy boobs, I might look at doing something about it at some stage because this time breastfeeding has caused me to drop a lot of weight so it’s a double whammy, but then I think, in a bra you’d not notice and my OH still finds me attractive so can I really be arsed.

We went to some baby megastore place with travel systems and cribs and everything. It was initially extremely overwhelming and I had a small meltdown when I couldn’t figure out how to adjust or move anything. We then settled down a bit and got one of the sales people to demo some all terrain travel systems. I was torn between the M&P Ocarro and the Maxi Cosi Fame. Both are wickedly expensive, the Fame is very new so I have no chance of getting a second hand one, the Ocarro I know I can get second hand ones. Think we’re set on a Maxi-cosi car seat with swivel base thing which we will be buying new. Though there was a cybex car seat that looked like a seat from a spaceship or a rollercoaster ride which we loved because we’d forever go ‘Junior, scream if you want to go faster!’ when he was in it.

The next to the bed cribs were a challenge because it turns out our bed is really high. I think we can lower the mattress but we have a super king bed with a mattress that is as heavy as one Kardashian sister (I google weird tit, though I think they’ve all been on the Ozempic so this is probably no longer a true fact), so I don’t know if I have the minerals to try and adjust the bed, but this would open up bedside crib possibilities, otherwise it’s a Snuzpod 5 or not much else. I liked a Tutti Bambini crib but it was £225, and lasts for 6 months and my head is boggled about this. Am I a total cheapskate? MrDragName and I do earn decent money but £225 for 6 months use is mind blowing. I looked at this M&P all in one bouncer/high chair that could last from newborn to 4 or something and it was £349 and that’s expensive AF but it lasts for 4 years in different ways.

We were in a place near a Mamas & Papas so we went to visit that too and the sales assistant said you can get money off vouchers when you spend certain amounts in store, though I think we’d need to buy a brand new pram to make that worth it.

Then I popped into Boots because my parenting club thing is active. I got a free box of 40 breast pads, some free folic acid/vit D supplements, and a free bottle of Aveeno baby stuff. And we spent real money on some other random essentials, like a nasal aspirator. Yuck.

Now we’re driving the nearly 2 hours home and exhausted and hoping I can last to watch Eurovision!

Smyths have the tutti bambini crib just now for £119! They have a few other reasonably priced

I ordered my crib from the UK baby centre website. I think it was £150. It’s the maxi cosi iora one.

Baby stuff in general is sooooo expensive to be fair. This is baby 3 for me and the price difference in things even since my last 4 years ago is so drastic 😂

Ohhhh I nearly went there as it was at this massive retail park we went to as well but by that stage I was completely exhausted. I’ve had groin pain/cramps all day in the same place which is doing my head in. This is such a good tip!
