We went to some baby megastore place with travel systems and cribs and everything. It was initially extremely overwhelming and I had a small meltdown when I couldn’t figure out how to adjust or move anything. We then settled down a bit and got one of the sales people to demo some all terrain travel systems. I was torn between the M&P Ocarro and the Maxi Cosi Fame. Both are wickedly expensive, the Fame is very new so I have no chance of getting a second hand one, the Ocarro I know I can get second hand ones. Think we’re set on a Maxi-cosi car seat with swivel base thing which we will be buying new. Though there was a cybex car seat that looked like a seat from a spaceship or a rollercoaster ride which we loved because we’d forever go ‘Junior, scream if you want to go faster!’ when he was in it.
The next to the bed cribs were a challenge because it turns out our bed is really high. I think we can lower the mattress but we have a super king bed with a mattress that is as heavy as one Kardashian sister (I google weird tit, though I think they’ve all been on the Ozempic so this is probably no longer a true fact), so I don’t know if I have the minerals to try and adjust the bed, but this would open up bedside crib possibilities, otherwise it’s a Snuzpod 5 or not much else. I liked a Tutti Bambini crib but it was £225, and lasts for 6 months and my head is boggled about this. Am I a total cheapskate? MrDragName and I do earn decent money but £225 for 6 months use is mind blowing. I looked at this M&P all in one bouncer/high chair that could last from newborn to 4 or something and it was £349 and that’s expensive AF but it lasts for 4 years in different ways.
We were in a place near a Mamas & Papas so we went to visit that too and the sales assistant said you can get money off vouchers when you spend certain amounts in store, though I think we’d need to buy a brand new pram to make that worth it.
Then I popped into Boots because my parenting club thing is active. I got a free box of 40 breast pads, some free folic acid/vit D supplements, and a free bottle of Aveeno baby stuff. And we spent real money on some other random essentials, like a nasal aspirator. Yuck.
Now we’re driving the nearly 2 hours home and exhausted and hoping I can last to watch Eurovision!
