I don’t think it is a no no unlike vitamin a. It’s just brands being overly cautious!
Oh interesting! Yeah, I stopped tret months ago because I knew vitamin A was bad, but I really like the results so I had to get out of the habit so I didn’t cry at how awful my face looked if I had to stop in a hurry!

Oh god yeah my skin is an absolute disaster at the moment and I read salicylic acid is a no no in pregnancy so I don’t even know what to do about it anymore!

to be fair I think it’s a disaster because pregnancy has done absolutely nothing to make my PCOS facial hair any better so I went all in aggressively with facial waxing and my skin has been really unhappy with me ever since. I would like to say ‘that’ll teach me’ but it won’t have done!

in terms of my scan, it was a teeny tiny smudge measuring at 3mm. It had a heartbeat though and was getting its groove on in there. I wish I’d been able to go when it was a bit bigger but I just had to know it was as ok as they can possibly predict it is at this early stage and make sure it was where it was meant to be and so I don’t regret going when I did. I did have to have a trans-vaginal scan either because it’s so tiny or because I’m quite overweight and it’s harder to see or both. The midwife/sonographer was absolutely fine about it though and to be honest I prefer TV scans because I don’t need to have a full bladder and I was petrified of wetting myself 🤣
Low dose salicylic acid is fine! I use the one from the INKEY List every day which has 2% in it and their website states it’s pregnancy safe. I think it’s the high dose topical stuff that can cause issues.

Then I can keep using my serum from la roche. The vitamin C one is also anti blemishes because of salicylic acid.

Anyone else use Ancient & Brave collagen powder? It says on their website that it’s theoretically safe to use during pregnancy but also says to speak to your dr/midwife. I’ve been taking it for 4 months or so prepregnancy so it’s not “new” to my body.

had my csection this morning at 36+1, as far as I know both me and baby are doing okay so far ! 🥰 (so weird to not be pregnant anymore !!)

I had a bit of a meltdown and cry on the way to theatre because I was worried he would get taken away straight away to nicu but he’s not had to leave our side !

he’s had a couple of borderline results which they’ll keep checking on but this kid has been borderline for most the pregnancy so I’m never surprised 🤣

That makes sense! I was posting on here about food before and have been side-eyeing lots of the ‘don’t’ list but at the same time, I don’t want to do anything that causes harm so I’m in conflict with myself. I can’t remember what % I have, the last one I bought was the anhydrous one from The Ordinary and I don’t like it as much as the normal one but my skin looks so mutated I barely care about that right now!

RE: Next to me cribs...

Does everybody use these? Or are you just getting a cot? I can't decide...

If you can fit a cot in your bedroom, then you don’t necessarily need a next to me, but remember how TINY a newborn will be in a cot. My first wouldn’t settle in a next to me for the first few weeks so we had him just in his Moses basket because it was smaller and he probably felt a bit safer/more secure.

I find it v helpful to be able to roll over in bed and give her a little stroke/handhold/put dummy back in with her next to me cot. I think you’d have to get out of bed if you didn’t have one… which is a no from me

I felt so claustrophobic by our next to me crib so in the end I moved it so I had a gap. But I do agree for giving comfort it is handy. I just didn’t like the feeling of feeling in the middle. Not sure if that makes sense?!

Oh yeah I totally agree I find it super annoying and can’t wait for it to be gone haha as I have to scoot it towards the wall to get out of bed.. but when it is there it is more handy than getting out of bed!

Hi everyone,

I hope this is okay to post here, I couldn't find a thread directly linked so apologies if it's not! (Also don't know who else to speak to, I don't want to get anyone's hopes up!)

I had a miscarriage 5 years ago and have been so scared to start trying again but we made the decision to just see what happens.

I took a test this morning and was so sure it was negative after 3 (ish) minutes so put it aside. Checked it again a little while later to be sure and there were 2 lines. Is it just an evaporation line? Or does it look like a positive?

I've since done another test (lunchtime pee & different brand of test) but it's definitely negative.

I'm so confused!

It could be a positive, can only suggest you test again tomorrow on morning wee maybe? Do you know if one of your tests works to a different HCG concentration than the other?

Why is the catheter honestly the worst part 😩

I had an epidural with my first and it bugged the hell out of me and they were so slow getting it out !

they’ve said they’re aiming to take this one out at breakfast tomorrow. I’m maybe speaking too soon but I feel like I have such little pain or discomfort from the actual csection yet .. just the flipping catheter that I can’t wait to be gone 😂

Also how am I meant to put this little angel down and try rest myself, I just don’t want to put him down he’s so perfect 😭

Yes I would test with morning wee tomorrow. You can also join the TTC group - it’s a really lovely space to chat and vent xxx

I’ve had positives after the time limit that turned out to be negatives I’m afraid, albeit only once in months and months of testing. They do say disregard any result that doesn’t come up in the time frame.
I can make out the test line on your other test though. If you did it at lunchtime it’d be less concentrated. Do you know if they’re the same sensitivity?
I would take an early predictor in the morning with the first urine to be sure.

Thank you for asking this cause I have no idea. I am finding it so hard and overwhelming researching the right things to do. Things have changed so much since my son 16 years ago. I think I will be getting a next to me crib but zero idea which one!
