I’m experiencing a lot of cramping today - 22+5. It feels like bad period pains and I have to keep going to the loo to check im not bleeding, and it’s in my lower back too. Definitely not braxton hicks as it’s a constant, dull pain rather than sharp and coming and going. Has anyone experienced this?

I would contact the midwives to see what they say. Even if others gave experienced it, I still would call.

Hi I was offered investigations after my second consecutive miscarriage. Thought nothing would be found but they discovered I have an autoimmune disorder which the consultant said was the cause of my mc’s
I found out I was pregnant in December and immediately started heparin and asprin.
We had a scan a few days back and baby has a heartbeat and is measuring perfectly 🥹
It is worth asking for bloods to be done. If you want a list of what they tested me for (it was around 40 different things) I can put a list in here

The ones I have commented on led to the doctors discovering I have an autoimmune blood disorder which means my blood gets thicker, can clot more and stops a pregnancy from continuing. It’s not common but worth asking if you want specific tests x

Baby Elisha was born this morning and we are in love

Chunky girl was 9lbs 1oz so I’m glad I opted for a section

Hopefully this week is the week we find out what we’re having think I’m more nervous now than I was with my first for some strange reason !!!

I found out yesterday my placenta still hasn’t moved, though we’re at 32 weeks so I think there’s one more scan to check before a csection becomes the only way out for baby. They said it’s still possible it could move enough by then.

But I’d been doing some thinking anyway and honestly I’ve been so tired of the ups and downs of this pregnancy (from the very start!!) that I’d just like a csection anyway. For me the idea of it felt more planned and it removed the fears in my head of things going continuing to go wrong if I could have a vaginal birth. I know they have risks too but if felt more planned and controlled to me.
The consultant yesterday agreed and is okay for me to have that but then pointed out how with my first my waters broke at 36+5 (born at 37weeks) and that they won’t book planned csections until 38-39 weeks (which is fair!). So I could get booked in for one but if my waters broke early they’d still do it but it would then become an ‘emergency’.

So now I feel like I’m back to being stressed about it 🫠

How many of you didn't find out the gender? I absolutely do not want to know but it seems like everyone finds out these days or acts really shocked or indignant that I don't want to know!

I am not sure whether we’ll find out or not.
I’m 100% certain we’re having a boy so it’ll be a massive shock if it’s a girl x

I didn't for either of my two. The first we were convinced was a girl, came out a boy. Second, we were convinced we were getting another boy. Got a girl both were such a lovely surprise though.

I was told a few times "how can you not want to find out?" Erm because you don't get many surprises in life! One of my friends was annoyed that I didn't find out which pissed me off no end.
But the amount of people who would say "ah that's lovely that you haven't found out because so many people do now" was also a surprise.

If you go before your planned date you can go straight in but it’ll still be done in order of clinical need. You’ll go in before planned sections but not before genuine immediate emergencies obviously but it’ll feel more controlled.

I went the day before it was planned (and it had already been brought forward). My first labour was so slow to the point I needed an ECS for non progression but this one went quickly. My waters went about 2.30am by the time I got to hospital about 4am I was contracting every 2mins. It was touch and go but they still managed to do the CS. It was about 3.5-4hrs from waters breaking to having baby out that included me having a shower and not being too urgent about getting in the car 1.5hrs ish, they had had problems with the equipment which delayed about 45mins then I had problems with blood pressure which was probably another 20min delay. So all in all, it was super quick and would have been far quicker, without the delays, I’d have probably been in theatre within about half an hour of arriving at hospital.

We didn’t find out and it made the pregnancy so much more exciting. I just couldn’t wait for my husband to tell me what he was 🥲
