Snap 😂 my midwife each time has been different and I’ve seen the one im supposed to have once
I've only seen mine once at my booking appointment. She forgot to call me for my 16 week checks (which are over the phone and not in person). I text to ask if it was still planned for that day at 11am which was an hour after I expected to hear from her and she rang me back at 6pm the next day.

I also messaged when I had COVID to ask if there was anything specific I should do (have since learned that I should have had a blood test but no one ever told me that until 20 weeks) and she read the text and never replied or called me!

She forgot to book in my GTT test, called me a day before I was due in for a 24 week check to say she was on holiday so I'd have to see someone else on the following weeks clinic.

Have also heard from a few other mums to be in my area that she's just as bad with them so I'm not taking it personally! If I was a more anxious or worried person, I'd probably be asking for a different midwife but I'll just stick with her 🙈

Wow that’s bad! It sounds like mine too, loads of stuff they forgot to book in or didn’t come back to me about. If I have any concerns or questions I literally just ring triage at the local hospital and they check me out there now. It’s further to travel but I do feel like they’re most consistent and thorough there

I'm really lucky that I've been okay so far and not needed any additional checks but if i didn't have a private gender scan at 17 weeks and confirmed an anterior placenta which is why I'd not felt any movement at all - id probably have been really worried!

I felt a lot better asking the other midwife all my questions and have made sure all my appointments are sorted so I should be off the hook now 😂

Question ladies…I’ve got an appointment with the diabetes ante-natal clinic tomorrow morning, it doesn’t mention anything about being nil by mouth but I know from friends they’ve had a fasted blood test! Should I not eat just incase? Seems weird they’ve not said anything on the letter x

Got my 4d scan in half an hour. Praying little miss plays along because my boyfriend already hates the 4d scans and thinks they’re weird 🙈 if we don’t get a nice shot I won’t hear the end of what a waste of money it was haha

Hope it goes well! My husband didn't see the point either but our images were amazing and since then he has been sending them to all his friends and family haha.

aww thank you! They haven’t changed his mind but they’re just so precious 🥺 baby played ball but kept her foot by her head most of the scan 🙈 the photos were so clear I can’t stop staring! They’ve told me baby is in breech at the moment though so fingers crossed she sorts herself out in the next 11 weeks 😂

Our was breech up until the last 31 week check and now at 35 weeks she’s 3/5 engaged 👍🏼🩷

Would you go to bongos bingo 32 weeks pregnant???

My friends keep nagging me to go for a birthday. They’re still quite young and haven’t had kids or been pregnant so don’t really think. They keep telling me I’ll be fine but all I can think of is the awful benches I can’t get in and out of, if it’s dangerous when people get on the tables, and the judging I would get. It’s not even the drinking I can’t do that bothers me, it’s safety.. They don’t see it that way though!

I went about 5 months pregnant but generally speaking no, I wouldn’t. It’s very loud, goes on far too late (🥱 if you ask me) and yes people constantly dancing on tables and falling off- you never know what dickheads you’re going to be sat near.
I only went as we went to a venue without those benches and tables where I had a bit more control over where I sat and could separate myself from it a bit. But it wasn’t much fun🤣

No I wouldn’t. I ended up out with some family the other week in a pub and it turned into a night club. There was girls pushing into me and falling over I was so paranoid I was going to get hurt x

My kid is 7, sometimes when he's asleep I can still see how his face is similar to his 4d scan pic. Did you get a heartbeat bear as well?

When though? Everything is moving on to systems. When I had my first 6 years ago everything was notes based but now there’s a digital transition happening throughout the country. I had my second last year and whilst my trust wasn’t fully paperless some already were.
Yep, sorry this was 7 years ago 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I don't live in the UK anymore so I've no idea what your systems are. I'm someone who is "better safe than sorry"

I personally wouldn't go either. Purely because there'll be loads of drunk people on benches dancing and it's a bit wild there. A drunk person could easily fall into you.
Don't feel bad about not going and what they think! It's all down to how you feel. Maybe explain to them if you were just going to a normal bar sitting at a table you'd be fine but bongos is just a bit rowdy!

Absolutely no chance. I wouldn’t go not pregnant if I had to stay sober. Not because I can’t have fun sober but everyone gets absolutely steaming. Unless your lot aren’t likely to. It’s one thing to be sober in a room full of people having a social drink and getting merry over an evening, it’s another to watch people do shots and get blotto where you can’t even chat and you’re just dodging getting bumped into all night.

I had asked my work for an enhanced maternity package. For clarity, I am a senior member of staff, worked here for 6 years. The pay and hours are good but we have zero other benefits. Just took a promotion for no pay rise, although I will have a better bonus (which I haven't actually been told about yet). Anyway, they said no. I'm incredibly frustrated.

I relate. I'm in a similar position. I have friends who work in the same profession elsewhere and they get full pay for 3-6 months.

I’ve never heard of this place but it sounds wild!

Well, there goes my loyalty! At least I won't be pressured into going back I guess.
