I’m 6 weeks 3 days and I’ve ordered the sneak peek test before I can change my mind! Entered my card details so fast before I can think about it too much 😬 why am I so excited yet so nervous 🤣

I'm 7w 3d today. Finding myself waking 3am to eat a dry biscuit to stop me throwing up. Was exactly the same with my son but the tiredness this time is on another level.

Had to leave work yesterday, sick in work.

Trigger warning: abortion

Me and my partner have been discussing me coming off the pill and trying for our first baby together. I’m 29 and have been on the pill (rigevidon) for probably over 10 years now. I did get pregnant when I was 16 (mistake with first boyfriend) and we decided to terminate the pregnancy as I was still at school and we both weren’t ready. Is there anything set in stone how to quickly I can get pregnant coming off the pill? Will my body take a long time to go back to normal after being on the pill for so long? My period is very regular I always take it on my week break from the pill.
I was on the pill for 15 years, took my last pill early April and was pregnant by early June!

Anyone else get TMJ pain triggered by pregnancy? I always flare up when I’m pregnant but it’s next level this time 😩 can’t even get anything to help besides paracetamol

Yes 😩 I've never had it before but it started about 3 weeks ago and it's so painful!

On a happier note, we saw our consultant yesterday and were told we're no longer classed as high risk. It doesn't really change anything practical for us but it feels so reassuring.

Hi ladies! Hope you don’t mind me joining the thread. Currently about 5.5 weeks with baby number 3. Still refusing to believe it as I have zero symptoms whatsoever!

Hi hi!

I have a similar story to you. Got pregnant at 19, didn't keep the pregnancy (definitely a good decision - the guy was an absolutely abusive wick) and was on the pill for a very long time. I stayed on the pill until the end of May 2022 as I was running a marathon as a bucket list goal before we started a family. I was pregnant by the start of July 2022 (less than 5 weeks). It can happen very quickly. I honestly don't think I've had a normal cycle since I was a teenager but it's starting to come back now as I've not gone back on the pill.

I have no idea if that's something that can happen every time, if some women are just more prone to that happening, or we just got 'lucky' (I say lucky in inverted commas as I don't know if I was truly ready and we expected it to take a few months so it felt very much like a surprise, if I'd known it would happen that way I would have waited a little longer...). No idea if it'll happen again when we start trying for baby 2. I'm assuming it will so we're going to try and really take our time and get everything lined up first.
---
I would be gutted if that happened to me 🤣 jesus you need a few weeks to prepare 🤣
I also work in the NHS but got lucky with how my annual leave fell, so I went off at 35 weeks. Had him at 37 weeks after being in hospital for 4 days before he arrived 🙃

Just as a different view point, because everyone commenting so far got pregnant really quickly after coming off the pill - I came off the pill in March 2023 and am currently only 6 weeks pregnant

Yeah I don’t want to be a negative Nelly, but it took me a really long time. I won’t say exactly how long, but just to say that it can happen and not to panic if you’re not immediately pregnant the moment you come off the pill!

My Edward’s/Patau’s syndrome results came back at 1 in 5000 but it doesn’t say if that’s high or low, and Google offers mixed results. Can anyone help?

I was confused about this too when I had mine - I’ve just gone to look for my results to see what was said. (Nothing helpful 😂)
The sonographer did say that my results wouldn’t be available to me if high risk was detected for any of the conditions and I would be spoken to first, not sure if that is the norm for all trusts.
The nhs Scotland website explains the results as “high risk” if it’s more than a 1 in 150 chance - but again I don’t know if that’s UK wide?

1 in 5000 is the standard number now, like they don’t say if it’s even lower than that that’s as low as they’ll put now. So yeah that’s a low number. They only go into specific detail of it’s higher risk like 1 in 70 for example

Anybody else absolutely starving in the third trimester? I’m on my third meal and fourth bag of crisps 😂
ME 😂 I vary wildly between nauseous and at the point of throwing up (because I’ve eaten so much) and needing to eat NOW. I’ve started only making things like pasta, curries etc that I can have second and third helpings from easily 😂😂😂😂😂

This is a very strange one but I am currently 16+5 and I have a niggly pain in my left hip like a trapped nerve. Probably jot even pregnancy related but the pain is going down my leg a little and the left side of my tina / groin 🤣🤦 when I say pain, it's more of an ache. I'm not worried I'm just curious if anybody has ever experienced this or if I am just being absolutely mental 🤣🤣

I made sure all my planning and observations were sorted, threw half a Christmas display together and stored it on the art rack and said peace out this isn’t my problem anymore 😂 i was so done by my last day
Yeah I've sorted key children out and all the paperwork so I'm just sitting back now and playing with the kids, tea party anyone?

No way! 🤣 Right I feel better now haha. It's very annoying. Thanks for clarifying I am not being absolutely mental 🤣
Not at all! I was googling like mad but it just stopped. Half of me thought maybe it was the baby on a nerve because not long after I started to feel flutters.
