I'm 14 weeks with 4th baby and I just cannot cope with the horrendous burning pain in my breast particularly my left one and its 100% worse in the cold or if I don't have a bra on. I cannot touch my breadt, if clothes rub on them it's excruciating. Any ideas. Never had this before. I wondered if it could be raynauds of the breast as I have raynauds.

Thank you everyone ❤ still feeling very ill but better than yesterday and baby has been moving fine today, probably because I’ve been slightly more awake (she’s booting me in the cervix as I type but I won’t complain 😂)

Is it the whole breast or just the nipple? I get vasospasms of the latter but only post labour so I don’t know if it’s a possibility, but you can use warming pads to limit temperature changes - perhaps they could help even if it’s not that?

I'm in my last week of work before maternity leave starts! Can't believe I've made it this far!

I'm a bit confused on wipes vs cotton wool and water for nappy changes. Is it ok to use water wipes from the beginning? Also will I need nappy cream from the beginning? NHS says to avoid anything on baby's skin for the first few weeks but my friends have been using wipes and cream.

Out of interest, how many weeks are you? I am going to try and work right up to the end or last few weeks but I know this is probably wishful thinking 😂

I will be 38+2 on my last day on Friday. I have a mentally demanding job but it's a desk job so not physically tiresome. It has been hard though, especially the last few weeks. I'm being stingy and want more time on the other side so have tried to last as long as possible.

Yeah that's what I want. More time on the other side, it just makes sense doesn't it. I will be office based towards the end so hoping that will help me. It's just going to be the aches and pains and driving etc. I think I might be due some sickness though towards the end to balance it out 😂😂

Just coming on to moan… rung up my GP this morning as really struggling again with sickness, only to be told can’t do anything today or to call 111 😫 sobbing in the office at 10:30 wasn’t on my plan today

Awww that's tit for you! Why can't they do anything today? I know everywhere is busy but surely they can give you something, even a telephone appointment.

No idea. Said all they had left was an emergency appt but obviously I know I don’t qualify for that. She said to try again tomorrow morning at 8:30 so that’s my last hope. Fed up of not being able to eat and feeling sick all the time

Funnily enough I did an antenatal class at the weekend and the midwife talked about this. She said cotton wool pads and warm water was currently best practice but obviously when your out and about not practical so water wipes were fine. My plan is to do warm water/cotton pads at home and water wipes elsewhere (and have put them in her hospital bag). I just wonder whether she will get used to the warm water and then scream when a cold wipe touches her 😂😂😂
she also said no creams to start unless obviously baby has a rash, which the midwife or HV can advise on at the time!

happy last week 🥳🥳

Are you always going to use water wipes or just for the first few weeks?

Why don't you think you need an emergency appointment? If you can't eat then you're really struggling and I would say that is a totally appropriate use of it, as you need some anti-sickness meds to try and help it.

I think I’ll use them as long as I feel like her skin is delicate if that makes sense? When she feels a bit more robust and she’s a bit older I’d probably be a bit less worried about her breaking out from using other products

I can’t remember how many weeks you are sorry! but could you try calling the early pregnancy unit for advice? I never had extreme sickness luckily but I know that’s something they dealt with when I was at that stage - I was lucky enough my area was self referral so could just call and didn’t need GP referral?

I'm really sorry. My midwives just kept brushing my sickness off as normal and I didn't get tablets until week 32. And it was just so upsetting that no one was listening. I hope that you can get something sorted asap. Sending you love!

We just use water wipes/normal baby wipes. Didn’t actually consider using anything else and imagine getting water/cotton bits at 3am might be a tad more difficult than grabbing a wipe! We just gave baby her first sponge bath today and used warm water and cotton pads for that

First official day of maternity and after a lazy morning decided to try and clean the house as it didn’t get its usual weekly clean. Cleaned downstairs and Jesus Christ I feel like I’ve ran 8 consecutive marathons! 😩 how on Earth have I been working with toddlers all this time and not broken a sweat but mopping the floor has done me in.

At this rate the stairs won’t see the Hoover for another two months 😂
