So sorry if this has already been asked.. but does anyone have a 360 car seat? We’re after a car seat that swivels but they’re a lot more expensive than what I realised and I’m baffled by them if you have one, which one do you have and would you recommend it?

I’ve got the cybex cloud t as part of a travel system however I’ve never used it on the pushchair due to the same reasons little pup said. I do find it easy but don’t have a fixed one to compare to.

It was also good the other day when I couldn’t get baby in the side they are so I could turn it the other way and sit with baby in the car to do it.

Have you checked out the car seat safety group on fb?

I’m 21 weeks now and starting to struggle falling and staying asleep, constantly wake up with a bad back. Can anyone recommend a good pregnancy pillow?

mine is the bbhugme (can get them from John Lewis and Mamas and Papas) and it has saved my life!! My husband and dog have enjoyed using it too

Only 4 weeks 4 days but the nausea is starting to get to me. The thought of food has been making me feel queasy for a few days now.
Anyone got any good tips to cope with it?

I was the same as you, felt so sicky from day 1, I feel your pain. I used the Myrtle and Maude Ultimate Morning Sickness pregnancy kit, the travel bands combined with the Queasy Days peppermint Bon bons really helped (I didn’t really need the rest of the kit so would buy those 2 things on their own next time!)
Also Ryvita crackerbread… the one that’s like polystyrene ate it by the boxload, buttered it or topped it with Philadelphia if I was feeling adventurous. it was the only thing I could stomach before 5pm for weeks!

Thank you. I shall check this out. Hopefully it has some tips about morning sickness. Not been feeling great and getting worried about throwing up on the commute. What makes me super worried is I get the train with up to four colleagues - including the MD! (depends if we bump into each other on the platform, we usually do).

I felt dreadful for my first pregnancy and I've been great so far (8weeks). I put on the seasick bands about 3 weeks ago and only take them off to shower. No idea if they work or I'm just lucky this time

My friends keep nagging me to go for a birthday. They’re still quite young and haven’t had kids or been pregnant so don’t really think. They keep telling me I’ll be fine but all I can think of is the awful benches I can’t get in and out of, if it’s dangerous when people get on the tables, and the judging I would get. It’s not even the drinking I can’t do that bothers me, it’s safety.. They don’t see it that way though!

All good at 12 week scan, just one baby! I wanted to wait for a surprise but now I’ve seen the skull shape I have a really strong feeling and want to see if I’m right. What do we think?

i don’t know/understand the skull theory enough to say. However, a friend that does swore I was having a girl based on it… I had a boy

I made sure all my planning and observations were sorted, threw half a Christmas display together and stored it on the art rack and said peace out this isn’t my problem anymore i was so done by my last day

If your body is showing signs of labour already, it can ‘help’ but you never know if that’s the sweep or whether your body would have done it itself. Hard one really.

I had an attempted sweep yesterday, but my cervix was too posterior

Ah yes good point! Fingers crossed I’m showing some signs by then… baby certainly feels like she’s ready to burst out down there

No she’s breech but also have other personal reasons that go along with that. Awh thank you I hope so, yeah just a big thing to happen ini!

Don’t want to generalise but they do seem very hasty with inductions going off of lots of you in this thread. I’m interested in all the stats around it.

I keep being told how busy September is on the unit, I’m actually wondering if they’re insisting inductions so they can actually space out births for shift management. I know a few others that were due after me and have already been and gone with inductions.
I’m a week over due now and seriously fed up so will be looking for induction toward the end of the week if I have no movement (pray for me I do) but I feel that’s for safety opposed to anything else!

Can I ask - how did you decide you wanted to find out the sex? I feel like I do as I’m a planner / more logical (eg only have to think of one set of names) but my boyfriend wants to wait. Others have also said they wanted to wait until birth.

I really really wanted a girl and just wanted to mentally prepare in case it would turn out it’s a boy. And since this will be our only child I wanted to do nursery, clothes etc. in the right vibe, didn’t want to go all neutral. I found out around week 14 after NIPT but if I could do an early test I would (they don’t exist in my country). At NS she couldn’t say anything about the gender yet as it was too early. I was extremely impatient. But we also wanted to know because of the name, we never had any boy name favourites and we wanted to know if we should bother searching for one or just skip it.

I feel like we don’t need to buy too much new this time with us having our second boy, but I’d like some bits that are only worn by the new baby. But going into my local a couple of days ago Tesco it’s like baby boys don’t even exist. They have this tiny neutral section that’s just awful.. and then so many beautiful girls bits!! They’ve shoved the baby boy clothes on the end of older boys clothes but there’s barely anything there and what is there is awful and ugly

Ohhh I would normally agree but I went into Next a week ago and newborn boys selection was actually sooooo much better! Maybe it was just better stocked but they had so many cute stuff I almost regretted a girl for a second.

I'm really sorry to hear this. I know it's easier said that done, but try not to focus on it too much. It's such a lovely thing your mum did and you can't control how other people were.

I'm not doing a baby shower myself and instead opting for a dinner with my parents. To be honest, I could even pass on that. I lost my sister last year and celebrating without her feels really sad for me but my parents have been insisting on doing something and that was the easiest thing to do.

Thank you! Yeah I’m trying to focus on the positives like my mum etc.
I did the shower as I wanted to have the experience and celebrate my daughter and not regret not having one but if I ever have another baby I will deffo be keeping it low-key like a meal with family or something.

I was looking to book antenatal classes for me and my husband and was wondering if any of you have any strong opinions on NCT or Bump and Baby Club?

A pregnant friend is doing them both (?!) but I will definitely only get hubby to go to one lot, not to mention the expense. Does anyone have any experience with either? Xx

I'm a project manager and planner, plus also a control freak so always knew I'd want to know the gender when I had children!

Me and my husband also had NO idea on a name for a boy but did have a girls name so wanted to know if we needed to spend time trying to find a name that we both loved he would have been happy not to find out until the NHS scan as well but happily came along to the private one. It was really nice to just be told by the sonographer in the room. We didn't do a big gender reveal and probably won't be having a baby shower or anything either so we're really happy how it all worked out.

I have a lot of friends who were quite happy not to find out as it really is one of life's biggest surprises!

Question I'm hoping you can help with so I know if I'm being unfair... how late in your pregnancy would you say is ok for partner/husband to go abroad?
He's been asked to a stag do when I'll be 34 weeks or more (not had 12 week scan yet and think they are going to move my due date sooner), it's to a European city for a few nights. Do you think this is too late?

My ex went to Amsterdam for a lads holiday (not a stag or anything) when I was 34sih weeks. Wasn’t a problem, baby didn’t come until 41 weeks anyway hope that helps!
I was originally supposed to be going as well so was slightly gutted haha

Hello ladies. Does anyone know what prams/travel systems they are going for yet?

We went to the baby show this weekend and despite our efforts not to, we have fallen completely in love with the Bugaboo Fox 5. I found it looked the nicest but it was also the easiest to put up and down.

We are planning on travelling to NYC when baby is 4 months old (crazy I know!) and have been advised by multiple couples we know that the YoYo would be best for this.

My question is- do any of these ever go on Black Friday sales? And are there any other prams we should be considering.

Yes to black friday sales.
If money is no object the yoyo is the OG but don’t go broke for it, there are plenty of more affordable options. Good 2nd hand market too. A simple umbrella fold would do the job. You’ll pay more for things like weight, manoeuvrability, storage, higher weight limit, rubber/hard vs pneumatic wheels, the ability to fit in an overhead locker in a plane - but you usually get to take it to the plane and get it back at luggage reclaim if not which isn’t that bad. If you rarely travel/storage is an issue you can also hire them.

The Joie I-spin 360 is great and extremely safe according to many tests but pricy. Graco is owned by Joie and their “turn-2-me” is extremely similar but far cheaper. I’d recommend either.
They are fixed though so not removable and compatible with a travel system but given guidelines about not keeping baby in car seat too long it’s best to take them out of the car seat anyway. Also I’ll soon be switching 3mth old into the 360 because they’re getting too heavy to get in and out while in the travel system seat anyway.

@Elisha97 Keera’s post reminded me I had a horrendous chest and ear infection in my 3rd trimester, that went on for weeks to right before the end, I was in a&e twice with it. They tested and it was viral and said it was very unlikely to affect the baby.
I don’t know if it was bacterial it would have been different but you could ask the question as they can test bloods and give antibiotics if it is and give you piece of mind if it’s not perhaps.

I set my WhatsApp settings so that people couldn’t see if I was online/read their message and casually announced a blanket rule that I was taking a break away from my phone in the last few weeks whilst I rested and prepared for labour…. This actually only applied to my MIL but she thought it was for everyone so made the blow a little softer
I also dropped into convo that people messaging only to see if I was in labour/if the baby was here were being ignored. Didn’t stop her sending the message but I ignored it anyway. I needed her to understand that my rules and boundaries applied to her as sometimes those close family members/friends hear what you’re saying but don’t think it applies to them!

This is actually great advice that I’m going to take on board - my in laws listen to what we say (no visitors to hospital we will let you know when we are ready for you to come and meet baby - which will be within a couple of days I don’t mean WEEKS) but then they just act as if we mean everyone ELSE and not them!
Partner finally explained there will be no long stays with them or overnights for at least 6 months as I’m intending to breastfeed which caused a bit of a sulk if I’m honest.
I get they are excited but I feel like there is an entitlement to the baby there which is getting my back up.
It’s such stark contrast to my own parents who are so laid back they are horizontal and while they are excited they are very much “whatever you need us to do we will do it”.
