Hey lovelies! I'm 29 weeks pregnant and at my last midwife appointment my bump was measuring in the 90th centile. At my next appointment the midwife said she might send me for a growth scan. Getting nervous about possibly birthing a 90th centile baby haha!

Has anyone had experience of their midwife measurements being wrong and a scan showing the baby as smaller??
I had growth scans approx fortnightly from about 28wks and we were always 90th or over, off the chart at one point. I was told baby was over 8lb already at 38 weeks or something, tracking to be 10lb. I opted for c-section and they came out at 7lb 8 🥴

My previous pregnancy I had fewer growth scans but they are accurate.

I don’t know how true it is generally but the midwife said the centiles are outdated. She said gone are the days when babies were usually 7lb, it’s common to be around 9 around here at least (a lot of strapping farmer types).

Has anyone had really bad round ligament pain? And have any good remedies? I only got about an hour sleep with all the moaning I was doing in the night (honestly v.worried about how ill cope with contractions now).

I can walk around but it's very painful. Just taken some paracetamol with breakfast hoping that might ease the pain a bit.

Yep, I’m in the same boat here. Came on badly last week and I’ve been waddling since. I’ve ordered a support band so hoping that gives some relief. The bath helps too. 😫

I was going to write the same thing! Is that what it could be? Anytime I roll over in bed I’m waking up it’s that painful and even just walking round the shops it’s starting to get bad. I have my 31 week appointment next Monday so was going to mention it then

I think mine is more pelvic girdle pain as it’s right on my pubic bone, but it’s all similar. Unfortunately I already have hypermobility and arthritic hips so mines a big collection of things. My only tips are baths, massage, lie/sit down as much as poss, sleep with a pregnancy or lumbar pillow between your knees, and try some kind of belt or support pants. It’s really rough 😩😩

I went to a female health Physio and that really helped. She recommended a birthing ball and some very simple stretches. I was very lucky as mine resolved but the band is also a good option. I found not sitting for long periods of time was good and also sitting on a harder chair. Sitting down to get dressed, found putting in my pants the worst as couldn’t stand on one leg.. there are some great gentle yoga videos which showed the stretches. Also she recommended a silk slider for getting in and out of the car and bed. Take it easy and kind yourself x

I’m on iron tablets alongside normal pregnancy vitamins, my HB and ferritin are now borderline after being low since pre pregnancy so they have definitely helped! ☺

I have a work trip booked to Hong Kong when I'll be 24 weeks pregnant. Would you go?

first pregnancy would have been completely fine (I went on holiday at 31 weeks). Second pregnancy, not on my life. How are you feeling generally? How far along are you now?

I did, I took the easy active iron it’s by pregnacare was prescribed it by consultant was told to take it every second day. Had to take galfer post partum and that was horrendous so if you can take the active iron I’d go with that no side effects on the body with that. Galfer had loads of side effects

I think it depends on a lot of things. What will the trip look like (eg high energy, activities etc), how are you doing most of the travelling and who with, what kind of support systems do you have while you’re away?

Nothing wrong with iron tablets but they can affect the bowels. Spatone is an alternative. Take with vitamin c to increase the absorption.
If you have a c-section particularly you’ll want to make sure your iron levels are good going in as the blood loss can cause anemia.

Yeah should be fine if you feel alright! Just make sure you get up and move around often with it being a long haul flight (assuming you're from the UK!). I did a 4 hr flight at 26 weeks and was fine.
Just check what the airlines policy is on flying pregnant - some airlines want a fit to fly form if you're flying after 28 week.

Not sure if this is even the right thread to ask this but just found out I’m pregnant this morning but every time I go to the toilet there’s a slight bit of blood and last night there was some but pink. How much implantation bleeding is actually normal?

My iron was great pre section, 13 plus but dropped to 7 post section. 7 weeks later it’s back to 11

When did you all tell your employers about your pregnancy?

With my last pregnancy, we told everyone including employers on the day we found out and I had a really negative experience with the way I was treated, which puts me off telling them early. But I’ve got my booking appointment at the end of the month and if I request time off they’ll just reject it, but obviously can’t if they know by then.
