I thought it sensible to have as my daughter will be starting nursery in October so if it can protect baby girl a bit then it will be worth it!

Same here! Especially having a winter baby too. That plus toddler is going to be a breeding ground of germs

How many newborn Vs 0-3 month clothes are you buying? I've mainly been buying 0-3 months but now starting to get some newborn, but it feels like a waste to get lots of they won't last long.

I also want to buy some nice Christmas babygrows but not sure what size to go for. If the baby's late it could be in newborn, but if it comes nearer the 1st it might have moved up a size or just be a bigger baby.

So I have about 8/9 baby grows in tiny baby sizes that were left from my first, and then I think about 6/8 in newborn as that was just a large pack sized from next.
0-3 I think about 12 baby grows. Vests are a mixture of newborn and 0-3 sizes.
Actual clothes outfits when they’re that small are a pain up the a so I’m not bothering with any

This is true but I’d still say there are circumstances where they are the best option for mum and/or baby. You have to do what’s best for your mental health too. So long as you decide for yourself and know you have options. Again it’s about understanding risks vs rewards and making informed decisions.

My body didn’t do what it was “supposed” to do. I had my breech baby turned, the risk was preferable to me over a planned CS or vaginal breech birth. I eventually had an induction after waters went but labour didn’t start, the induction felt safer than the risk of infection…. and so on at every step. So you could say the turning or Induction resulted in the c-section but to not turn/induce could have been dangerous. It wasn’t ideal but I don’t regret any of it.
I felt much better going into my second birth knowing my body might not play ball but that there are always options 🤍

Oh of course, sections are a very positive and amazing thing and there are always reasons why one is needed. There’s certain situations where I’d opt for one myself, of always choose one over an induction for example.
We’re so lucky that we have the option these days I’m just mentioning some reasons why the % is so high

I bought three sleep suits and 5 vests in first size. They fitted for about 3 weeks - just about. I had loads of 0-3 months which are still going strong. Donated all the first size to charity shop, they were basically unworn. I was so unsure of how big/small baby t was so you do need a mix but they grow into the 0-3 so quickly. His first outfit was 0-3 but mixed it up after that with first size. Don’t get too much but deffo have a few - with next day delivery I wouldn’t worry too much Xx

Size wise, don’t forget about potential weight loss after birth. Baby skates number one was measuring above the 97th percentile during my pregnancy and was born at 8lbs 11oz, but dropped SO much weight after birth. We had to go out and buy loads of newborn and a couple of tiny baby bits. He didn’t go into 0-3 until he was 12 weeks old.

Is now an absolute tank of a toddler though!

For baby outfits don’t forget you can get 0-1 months and different weights at different places ie Asda first size is up to 9lb.

My baby was in newborn until a month and at 7 weeks is between 0-1 and up to 3 months (born at 6.5lb). I ended up buying more 0-1 on vinted.

I’d recommend getting plenty (potentially off vinted if you want to save money) then you can always sell on if you’ve not used.

Just parking myself here. I have a 15 month old who took multiple years and several fertility investigations and treatments to conceive, so you can imagine my shock when we found out we’re pregnant again on the first month of trying!

I’m absolutely thrilled, but did have a HG pregnancy last time so a little anxious about that. Although with my son, I’d already started being sick before I even got the positive test, and I haven’t been/felt sick yet and I found out two days ago. Although it’s scary not having symptoms!

I just popped back for nostalgic purposes but saw you’re pregnant again, congrats!!!

I have a pram dilemma as a first time mum.. I have no idea what to buy

I have no idea if this helps but…
- we want a pram bundle but don’t need a car seat
- We’re after something quite lightweight that folds easy, it doesn’t have to be tiny but I’ll probably have had a c section and I’ve never been the fittest anyway
- We live in quite a flat area and won’t be on paths that are too crazy
- We would use the pram mostly for walks/ walks around the odd shop etc but we do the majority of our shopping online
- I like prams that are black and I liked a few of the iCandy ones

We’ve been in person to the shops but there’s not a huge choice in store near us and now I’m wondering how the prams wear and maintain over time

Does anyone have an iCandy pram or recommendations?! Thank you

Sounds like the Nuna Triv or the new bugaboo would be good for you. We liked both of them as they’re lightweight and fold up small. I wouldn’t worry about a bundle, we bought our stuff all separately because it worked out cheaper from John Lewis. Either way you’ll need the pram, bassinet and pram seat for when baby’s bigger. I’d definitely recommend a JL or Mamas and Papas appointment? I’d have had no idea where to start without that

Yeah I’d definitely recommend doing it, or even other shops that offer the service. There are so many quirks to each pram that you’d never know til you try it out and speak to the advisers!

Hey lovelies! I'm 29 weeks pregnant and at my last midwife appointment my bump was measuring in the 90th centile. At my next appointment the midwife said she might send me for a growth scan. Getting nervous about possibly birthing a 90th centile baby haha!

Has anyone had experience of their midwife measurements being wrong and a scan showing the baby as smaller??

Have you got a local pram/baby retailer? We got ours from there and they actually stocked some Mammas and Pappas stuff there too.

We don’t 🫠 we will have to travel an hour or two! I thought it might be wise to have an idea of what I like and then we can focus on going somewhere that stocks it / a few places in one day with a list to try

Try doing a virtual one with JL first? You can let them know what you’ll need it for I.e. terrain types the fact you don’t need it to be car seat compatible, what you’ll use it for etc and they might be able to make suggestions? I’ve not done a virtual one so not sure how helpful it will be but they’re free so can’t hurt to give it a go! You also get the discount code that way too I believe.

Yes I have! 28 weeks was measuring 90th so they sent me for a scan that week. The scan showed 58th centile and no issues! So many factors could affect your measurement (I did so much googling cause I was worried about it), of course even scans aren’t 100% accurate! I’m 34 weeks now and none of the measurements of my bump have been on the 90th centile since - still measuring big but they haven’t been concerned (touch wood).

They can definitely be inaccurate those fundal height measurements, while your measurement might mean you’re on the higher centile, something as little as baby’s position can cause the measurement to be higher, especially if they are OA.
My 28week was 75th centile, my 31 week was 50th centile, sent for a growth scan and baby measuring 15th centile but also take the growth scans with a pinch of salt too
