ThanksI feel you! I have good days and bad days, some days are not so bad and I can get about doing my normal things, other days I am close to screaming in painask your midwife to urgently refer you to physio if you haven’t already, they gave me some exercises to do (which I didn’t find very useful) but also gave me crutches (they ease the pain so much but I feel silly using them in public so just use them in the house
) and a tube bandage for my bump which takes a lot of pressure off my hips. I had the physio appointment at 32 weeks

I think it depends on a lot of things. What will the trip look like (eg high energy, activities etc), how are you doing most of the travelling and who with, what kind of support systems do you have while you’re away?I have a work trip booked to Hong Kong when I'll be 24 weeks pregnant. Would you go?
Oh I'm so so sorry you're going through this.not good news really, at the dating scan they had said there were 2 extremes of it and looks like we have the worst
we have a few choices not sure what we will do yet![]()
Hey, thank you so much, that’s definitely reassuringHey yeah my baby has been bang average for each growth scan until one at 37 weeks showing her growth had slowed down. The consultant did a calculation and rather than putting on 20g a day she was putting on 18 point something grams a day. So he said at this stage he wasn't concerned but now I'll be on fortnightly growth scans and am having a doppler to check blood flow a week after the slower growth scan.
I was scared but keep reminding myself she is still growing and if they were overly concerned they'd be doing more.
He did tell me to monitor movements more closely and did mention that induction may need to be brought up if growth continued to slow. But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Not sure if any of that is reassuring but your baby is still growing and they'd take action if there was a serious concern.![]()
They are very pricey, I had a few and they do add up! But I think they are brilliant for anxiety and reassurance. If you think you can hang on to your 12 week scan do so but if you really need to be reassured book itAlso stuck whether or not to book a private scan at 10 weeks! They're just so pricey...
Thank you soooo much, that’s made me feel loads betterWhen a baby moves and their heart rate goes up like that, its actually a really good sign that their somatic nervous system is working wellit’s called an acceleration, and only a well baby can do that. You’ve said it returned to baseline, which is perfect. It sounds like a really reassuring trace
the alarm goes off because the normal baseline for a baby is 110-160, so if it goes above that for longer than a minute it will automatically alarm. Just monitor your movements and you can always call triage for a chat and a repeat CTG if you feel it would calm your nerves a little, but it honestly sounds like a really reassuring trace

You’re some kind of super human because HOW?!Wow guys you’re making me feel really proud of myself that we managed it the week before I had the twins
(I’m not suggesting it was particularly good but god loves a tryer)![]()
I didn’t read or watch anything on birth with my first. I didn’t want to go in with any expectations or hopes and I actually think I felt better for just going with the flow and doing whatever needed to happen to get baby here safely instead of knowing more. But that’s just me.![]()

Thanks ladies @littlepupWe managed to get this Tutti Bambini one brand new from literally a minute down the road on Facebook Marketplace for £145 and retail is around £300! So maybe try looking there, I’m not personally sure if they’re worth hundreds buying brand new to me. It looks really nice in our nursery but can’t say it we’ve found it worthwhile yet with baby not being here View attachment 3075694
Thank you much appreciated xxI packed everything but the kitchen sink after reading all the online lists. But I had a planned section and this is all I actually used:
Tena pants/maternity towels
Baggy pyjama bottoms that came way above where my cut was
T-shirt
Night dress for when the catheter is still in
Crocs
Face wipes
Flannel
Shower gel
Towel
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Hairbrush and hairbands
Deodorant
Spare bra
Charger
Paracetamol
Ibuprofen
Drinks and snacks
Pillow in the car for across my belly on the way home
For baby:
Hat and nappy in a separate bag for theatre (this is a good idea even if you’re having a vaginal birth as it’s easy for someone to grab incase you have to go for an emergency section)
Babygrows
Sleepsuits
Ready to use milk
Blanket
Nappies
Wipes
Muslins
Dad had a snack bag, spare tshirt, charger and his inhaler. All got used.

That should be vests and sleep suits not babygrows and sleep suits (clearly wrote the list when I was half asleep)
Oh we also used going home outfit (but he puked on it before we left for home and needed changing) and a dummy to try and help his latch. We also used a little ‘welcome to the world’ plaque and a little teddy but obviously they’re far from essential but make cute pics![]()
I was due to go to the states when I was 25 weeks, I cancelled the week before. I was told the second trimester was a wonderful energy-filled experience but for me it was notI have a work trip booked to Hong Kong when I'll be 24 weeks pregnant. Would you go?
Thinking of you. Like others have said I hope you have a good support network and make sure you take time to be kind to yourselves xnot good news really, at the dating scan they had said there were 2 extremes of it and looks like we have the worst
we have a few choices not sure what we will do yet![]()
How much are they near you? We have a place near us that sometimes does on the day appointments for about £35 if you can get one at short notice xAlso stuck whether or not to book a private scan at 10 weeks! They're just so pricey...
Oh God I would be mortified! Can you not get your partner to have a word with them and ask them to leave your personal things for you to sort? The pregnancy rage is real.. my partner has invited his parents round to sort our house out and get it ready for the baby which I appreciate and is nice of them..
BUT they’ve started going through my personal belongings because he’s given them permission to and I don’t know how to politely tell them to fuck off. They’re riffling through stuff like our sex toys, my Ann summers underwear, smear test findings letters as we speak and I am trying to control my temper 🫠
I wouldn’t mind if he’d even given me the heads up so I could take out anything personal and they could still feel like they were helping me with rehanging or bagging up clothes or something but he hasn’t![]()
