Knew you’d all sympathise.. I’ve had to slyly dip out of work and try and find a local takeaway (that I trust hygiene wise too) open at this time because I’ve gone off all food but takeaway chips and I am sick with hunger after not managing to keep food down this morning 😭 Told my boss I was off to pick up my prescription 😎

I put puppy pads under my mattress protector incase of waters breaking in the night 😂 I think it was @watermelon sugar who started wearing the maternity nappies incase hers went? 🤣 the last thing id want is to have to come home and sort the bed out as it’s dripping with amniotic fluid cus I know Mr R wouldn’t have had a clue 😂
Yeah it was! My waters didn’t even end up breaking! Tell you what though those giant adult nappies are a god send! And I’m glad my mattress survived my pregnancy tbh, I’d have been raging in the hospital if I knew my waters had broken all over my mattress hahahaha

They are brilliant. I’ve got loads of spare packets because I’m a bulk buyer so I can see me using them for my first period after birth etc 🤣

In case anyone is interested Boots have a good baby sale on right now, save 15% when you spend over £40. I’m going to do our first big order of stuff 😍

Does anyone have a UV steriliser?

Yeah the Tommy Tippee one I’ve got is UV it was £100 on offer. I like that you can just wash, put them in still wet and it takes care of the rest. The negative is it’ll yellow the bottles slightly overtime (that’s just what UV does) but I didn’t think that was a deal breaker

For maternity pads last time I bought the boots own brand ones that were £1 and found them great. The hospital gave me some pants but they felt so restricted on my legs I went straight to my own big pants and pads. I had a few packs but didn’t actually use much as my bleeding wasn’t too bad. Same with breast pads, I bought a couple and we also get pads provided in the baby box in Scotland so I ended up with loads I didn’t even use because I didn’t leak.

For sterilisers, I wouldn’t waste money getting any fancy. We used the Milton cold water box last time and it was perfect, easy and cheap! I seen so many reviews for other sterilisers that you need to wait on the bottles then cooling down afterwards. I use Milton stuff for everything now!

I’ve bought the leopard carrier and bouncer. No idea if they’re any good. Style over practicality here 😂
We just took the plunge as well and now have both. They look the most stylish on the market 😂 I see mostly good things on Tiktok and have read positive reviews

I need the pink one. I have a feeling I’ll end up giving in and buying one soon as the adverts won’t leave me alone.

With baby carriers/slings, the lady working in the John Lewis nursery and baby department recommended waiting til baby is here before buying one, then you can actually test them with your baby to see which one feels like the best fit for both you and baby

Lots of places also have sling libraries so you can try a few different ones to see what works for you before buying 😁

We have the baby bjorn mini I think it is from my first. It was a godsend for me taking the dog out, we have a huge dog so I could take her out by myself with the baby in the carrier rather than trying to struggle with a pram and her.
I wanted the bouncer but we got a free swing and my husband had a look at the bouncer today in mamas and papas and he wasn’t keen on it so don’t think we will bother with that if we have the swing anyway.
