I just need to let out a bit of word vomit I’m sorry.

TW mention of miscarriage
I’m almost 18 weeks with this baby. We had a miscarriage in December, some problems with retained product after this, and I fell pregnant on my next cycle.
Next month will be 6 months since we lost the baby.
July, baby would have been due.

This is such a bittersweet feeling, I’m incredibly grateful to be pregnant but I’m still grieving and hurting for what could have been. I’m actually worried I will resent this baby because of what happened, but I know I will love them with everything I have.
I feel very much the same. I’m similar to you as my baby was also due in July, lost slightly after yours and I’m now pregnant (after a struggle to fall pregnant again). I have to stop myself thinking things like ‘30 weeks today’ or ‘I should be starting my maternity leave next month’. It’s made worse as well because I have several friends who had similar due dates to me and they’re all still heavily pregnant.

i have to just avoid certain places and people for now and I’m hoping once the due date passes I might feel some sort of closure. I’m taking all the mental health support I can though and just trying to look after myself

I’m sorry you’re feeling the same 😢 it’s so difficult isn’t it. Now the due date is getting closer I find myself counting down the days, and like you I’ve got friends due around the same time.
I’m pleased you’re getting support too 🤍

it really is. I’m very early in this pregnancy and I’ve had a lot of scares so I’m not taking anything for granted but I think even when I reach a ‘safer’ time I will struggle telling people about the new pregnancy. Because it was months ago now, people presume I’m over it and say and do really insensitive things and I know most people will think because I’m pregnant again I ‘got over it’. I really hope this changes 🩷

Anyone else suffering with third trimester nausea? Hating the fact there is no obvious triggers for mine :(
I’ve thrown up more in the last two weeks (35wks almost) than I did through the whole first trimester nausea.
Didn’t have this in my last pregnancy. Midwife said because baby is so big they’re putting extra pressure on my stomach maybe plus I’ve had a cold so generally under the weather 🤷🏼‍♀️ Only real trigger is strong smells and tbf they’ve been muck spreading the fields🤮
Just wish I could ‘glow’ and enjoy the last weeks but it’s miserable.

I can relate so much, sending lots of positive pregnancy wishes your way 🤍
Very few people know about my pregnancy, thankfully I’m not showing much of a bump so it’s easier to hide (and scrubs are my best friend). But I know the comments will come, and I’m not quite ready to deal with that yet.

I think I might have to invest in a bbhugme. They look a lot more flexible than mine which doesn't really bend at all, and the fabric cover is a horrible scratchy material.
I was influenced into mine by raspberry and I loveeeee it. The beans in it mould to you so I can wedge it under my belly and it stops my boobs hurting 😂 Only downside is lugging it with me whenever I turn over (which is a lot 🤣) but that is absolutely worth it. I got mine from John Lewis and they had this one random colour reduced while the rest were full price so got a barg.

thank you 🩷

that’s one of my big worries - I’m starting up some counselling soon again and I’ll try and tackle that. My other counsellor advised to be honest with people and tell them what I need or if what they say is hurtful/ inappropriate - easier said than done, though! I don’t think I’ve the capacity for it right now

I’d say I would never relax until the baby is physically here and well in my arms but to be honest they could be about 30 years old and I’d still be worried about them 😂😂

Me, but it only happens when I’m asleep and wake up to have to try and get to bathroom. It’s awful - wake up with my throat burning and then it happens. It has only happened twice but I’m really careful not to eat late in the evening now in case it happens again. Hope you are feeling ok x

This is such a bittersweet feeling, I’m incredibly grateful to be pregnant but I’m still grieving and hurting for what could have been. I’m actually worried I will resent this baby because of what happened, but I know I will love them with everything I have.
I had two miscarriages back to back in 2022 and have been trying since then and I’ve just given birth to my rainbow baby two weeks ago. I spent the whole of my pregnancy worried sick, with a strange feeling of feeling guilty for the two babies I’d lost. I’ve also had 3 other miscarriages prior to the ones I lost back to back, but the two together really affected my mental health. I wish I could tell you i enjoyed my pregnancy but I didn’t, it was a constant worry, I was questioning everything and I was an anxious mess. And I was still grieving, that feeling of losing your babies never goes away.

But yesterday, I had a hospital appointment with my newborn and I was pushing the pram, she was fast asleep and I had my airpods in (which I never get to do because my 4 yo 😅) and when I had my miscarriages I remember crying my eyes out to Wings by Birdy. Then I had to completely stop myself from listening to it because it upset me so much. Anyway, the song came on. First time I’d heard it since 2022. And it made me emotional, I was looking down at my newborn and I had goosebumps listening to this song that reminded me of the babies I’d lost, but it weren’t a sad feeling, it was was a bittersweet yet grateful feeling. I’ve got the baby I so so longed for and she’s here and safe, and the way I see it is the babies Id lost are looking down on me and her.

I thought i’d resent her, but honestly there’s not a feeling like it. After all the pain and loss, she’s completed my life. I hope you feel some comfort knowing you’re not alone in how you feel!

It’s not ‘nice’ to hear about fertility struggles and miscarriages because I am devastated for everyone who suffers this, but it’s a comfort to know that I’m not alone and others do know what it’s like. I think it’s hard sometimes when you only see the highlight reel of others and don’t realise what journey they have had to get there. People don’t really talk about it do they 🩷

Nope they don’t! There’s still a massive stigma around fertility issues and miscarriages unfortunately but another good thing about this thread is it shows people that their not alone and it’s good to speak about how their feeling 💖

What shocked me is how many people say they have been through something similar when you do tell someone. My best friend went through it a couple of months before I did, and another friend went through it recently and for me it helped to know there was someone who understood (my best friend) and then I got to be that person for my other friend recently.

It’s easy to see the good parts that we talk about. Once we tell people our news, it’s unlikely that I’ll reveal all the heartache, the failed attempts, the success followed by miscarriage, the months/years of therapy we have all been through to get us here. That’s our journey, not anyone else’s, and they’ll make their own assumptions about our situation but do you know what? I don’t even really care

That sounds horrible. Hopefully it might pass once your cold does. I can’t think what causes mine, I can be shopping, awake in the middle of the night or just sat on the sofa - I think what you’ve said about stomach pressure might make sense in my scenario. Hopefully only a few weeks left for you ❤

Thankfully I’ve not been sick yet, it’s just that horrible sickness you feel in your throat. Hope you’re able to get back to sleep once yours comes on.

I’ve not stopped being sick this pregnancy but had noticed myself getting worse at night in bed / acid is back which is lovely 🙃

Hope yours improves!

I don’t even have any acid feeling at all, since I started taking the omeprezole it’s totally gone.. I think the baby must move funny at night sometimes but not eating late seems to have resolved it. Really shouldn’t complain it’s only happened twice 😂😂.
Had a really lovely scan yesterday and apart from a low lying placenta - but they don’t seem concerned about that as I am having a section, baby T is doing great. Approx 3 pounds already with 8 weeks to go. Scan lady said all is great..
Next scan 14th of June..

Never wanted a big subway sandwich more in my life 🤤 I know we can probably eat them fine but I just don’t trust how long the ingredients might’ve been sat out
