The section scar is probably the one thing that they could try to get me with. I’m extremely vain before everything 🤣 but honestly forced to make the call I still don’t see how I’d be able to any other way :( so probably have to get my head around that.
Oh see my scar (from my unplanned first section) is pretty much invisible. It’s so low too. I was more worried about being torn (as all my friends and sister were with natural births), so I was quite relieved to have a section in the end. I’ve elected for one this second time around.

it’s such a personal choice.

I’m also looking on advice what to do for day time sleeping until baby is old enough to nap in the bedroom unsupervised. With my first child I used a sleepyhead/Dockatot on the sofa next to me (always supervised) but this time round I’m not sure that’s going to be the best bet as my older one is 2 years old and boisterous so not sure a sleepyhead on the sofa is the best idea, I will obviously be there 99% of the time but toddlers are quick and I’m worried she’d maybe climb on him or pull the sleepyhead off the sofa.

Is it worthwhile getting a Moses basket? Would this deter the toddler? Or should i just wait and see how it goes once the baby is here? Baby could sleep in the pram I suppose but I don’t really want to be cleaning it constantly to take into the sitting room. So unsure what the most practical solution is. We also have a baby bjorn bouncer & Mamaroo.

Is the pram a carry cot type? We used to use that sometimes as it detached easily from rest of pram (we also had a Moses).

Moses baskets don’t last long so go second hand with new mattress!

On the topic of new mattresses, we need a new one for next to me crib. There are so many options for replacement mattresses and they vary in prices (£20-£50). Any advice?

Sorry I’m not answering your question but did your older baby adjust ok to all the extra space when they came out of the sleepyhead/got too big for it? I’m looking at one as a moses basket alternative but some of the reviews say babies really struggle sleeping elsewhere after being snuggled in a sleepyhead/dockatot

Found out baby is still breech at a scan yesterday, I’m 32 weeks. What’s the chances of it turning yet and when is it supposed to be head down by? Sonographer was very vague when I was asking these questions. Will ask my midwife at my next appointment but just wanting to gauge from anyone else
Baby bandit was breach around 28 weeks, my midwife advised me to look at the spinning babies website for exercises you can do to naturally encourage baby to turn - I didn't end up looking as he turned by himself but I've heard people say the exercises worked for them 🙂 I think ideally they want the head down by 36-38 weeks and if not they'll start discussing birth options to accommodate a breach baby, but check what the NHS advice is as I can't remember!

Has anyone had light bleeding in the earlier weeks and everything turned out to be ok at the scan?

Yes! Early spotting is common, there's a lot going on and often it's a sign of implantation or your body adjusting - I think I had spotting at about 7 weeks and again at about 13. It's very normal but always worth giving your maternity unit a ring just to get their advice, I did that both times and they put my mind at rest ❤

Yes I had some very light brown spotting at 7-8 weeks and it was fine. When I had a reassurance scan I was told it was probably old blood from a previous period.

I’m still having cramps since I posted the other day… everyday. They only last about 10-20 minutes at a time maybe two times a day but I’m driving myself insane. All the hospital said to me is if there’s no bleeding there’s probably nothing to worry about. Google says normal too… but I just find it hard to deal with and accept ‘might’ mean nothing.

still lurking here with my 3 week old in my arms - but i had an elective c section after going back and forth on it for a while. it was definitely the right choice for me, but it is annoying not being able to drive and being sore with a newborn!

Thank you. Did the spotting last long?

I did I had brown spotting early on and then just before my 12 week scan I had some fresh blood so had an emergency scan and everything was totally fine!

I think at 7 weeks it happened 3 times over 2 days, and at 13 weeks it happened once? But it can vary from person to person, and the type of spotting can vary too - mine was mostly pale pink because it was mixed in with discharge. I think the NHS website has information on spotting and when to be concerned - a lot of the NHS pregnancy pages are really helpful. I've checked my notes app and the midwife at the maternity unit told me that if the spotting continued to call back, and if i had any bright red blood to go to A&E.

Could it be to do with your digestive system maybe? In the early stages I had awful cramps that made me feel hot, sick and shivery, like when you've got a stomach bug - I noticed they came on if I ate fruit, especially apples, so I stuck with plain biscuits for a few weeks! I took Deflatine which are like rennies and are safe in pregnancy - I'd chew one if I felt the tummy ache coming on and it mostly stopped it, and also helped with the awful bloating. I hope the cramps stop soon and/or you can get more reassurance ❤

My fella leaves me to sleep in (doesn't get much work in winter as his a labourer) I get up about 7.30 then about 9 I go back to sleep til about 12 and now I'm shattered again. But keep napping for 3/4 hours in the evening and I can't even try fight it it's overwhelming. Am knackered now and know I'm gonna end up napping til like 8pm but then I'm up til like 2/3am. My fella deals with kids in evening as well while I sleep but I'm fed up of it.

So now I have a UTI, antibodies, am on aspirin and need vitamin D. Feel like everything is going wrong and I just want this pregnancy to progress.

Booked a second reassurance scan because I just feel like with all these issues something must go wrong.

I've got MS and sometimes the overwhelming tiredness/fatigue just hits me out of nowhere (generally but also when I was pregnant) - when that happens I find sitting upright on the sofa and closing my eyes for 10 minutes so I can zone out but not properly sleep helps re-energise me enough to keep going, and it doesn't interfere with my sleep at night. Lack of energy ducks, I hope you feel better soon ❤

So upset with myself, starting to feel body concious, I'm 26 weeks now. I was so happy the first few months with my growing little bump, and was so grateful for my body for growing my baby girl, but now everything is expanding a bit, my face, legs, hips, thighs, it's really getting me down and I feel really self concious

I'm a gym girly and have always weight trained etc so I knew I would struggle eventually I guess

For my first baby, I had a Moses basket (with a Sleepyhead) in the bedroom next to our bed, and then we had a proper cot in the nursery.

Moses was for night time with us, and then for daytime naps I put him in the cot (within the Sleepyhead).

That worked really well for us…

I completely empathise. I am struggling more with my body this 2nd pregnancy - I’m worrying a lot about weight gain and stretch marks.

I have a history of anorexia and bulimia and I can get very obsessive. But I am trying to keep reminding myself of how desperately I wanted this baby (we had to do IVF after my husband’s testicular cancer) - and that there’s nothing to say I can’t bounce back to a level of fitness and healthiness post baby (like I did last time). Especially with breast feeding, which helped me shed a lot of the extra weight I gained before.

And ultimately… the love for these little children is so so so much more important than my dress size or body shape. I’m not a model, my salary doesn’t depend on my body, and it’s a miracle that I have a body that can grow another human (when a lot of women sadly don’t have that luxury).

it’s a hard process but it’s not forever.. and it will be SO worth it when you hold your little bundle in your arms.

I had it twice over two weekends between 6/7 weeks. Went to GP and got booked into an early scan. All was good and have had nothing since., Fingers crossed for you..
