I've been having the odd red bull! Don't have any other caffeine so I let myself have one maybe once/twice a week. Also have salami in my subways lol, it's all at your own risk, and I thinks for meats etc the risk is very very small. Obvs the NHS have to advise/warn you of any risk, small or big!

I actually can't believe I'm nearly 27 weeks!!!!! Hope time doesn't go this fast when baba is here 😭 Going to miss being pregnant so much (apart from the 2 months of being sick lol) but it really has been so special experiencing everything for the first time 🥰

I’ve got the most hideous cold and earache today 😩 normally I’d power through but I’m taking the day off feeling sorry for myself on the sofa.

my doctor said I can eat pepperoni etc as long as it’s fully heated through. If we were to adhere to everything, we’d be wrapping ourselves in cotton wool. Immune systems are compromised in pregnancy so if you want something, just choose wise and enjoy. I’m not a medical professional but common sense helps lol. If you want tuna, go somewhere with good hygiene and fresh food, don’t get a pre-made sandwich from a garage that you have no idea where or when it was made!

I’ve had a couple of smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels since being pregnant 😬 😂

I’ve just ordered the next 2 me! We just had a moses basket for our first and I hated it! He just outgrew it so fast. We will use that one for new baby when she’s downstairs though

I had a few deli meat subs from subway until I realised the meatball ones tasted so much better and that was my new craving 😂

my first used her Moses basket for 6 months 🙈 so we’ve bought another one for this baby for downstairs and we’ll hopefully use the next to me upstairs (my first hated the next to me so it never got use)

I was packing his hospital bag last night and I’ve realised all the sleepsuits I’ve got for him are so boring 😂 I know it doesn’t matter but my girl had loads of pretty colours and patterns and I feel for boys they’re just plain blue or not as nice!

Boy stuff is deffo not as cute as girl stuff, this is my second boy, I've found Next have the best selection of non blue fun sleepsuits, and some of them are zipped too which is amazing in my opinion haha

Anyone experienced such negative comments from the older generation? I've had people comment on me buying zipper sleepsuits, saying we managed with the popper ones etc and I bought an electric baby nail file and I've had comments like 'why are you scared to cut your babys nails, this is all we had back in the day', same with the frida snot picker!! It's soooo annoying. If new products are available, I'm going to try them for ease!

leave me alone lol

Ask them if they’ll be using a horse and cart to visit, sending best wishes by carrier pigeon and a chalk and slate card. You’ll assume then they won’t want any photos sending and wait to receive news of baby’s arrival via telegram.

I suspect many of them used Terry towel nappies but are happy for you to use disposable, I can’t imagine they suggest baby is just slung on the back seat without a seat belt so why should other time saving or safety measures be scoffed at. Proudly take advantage of any and all measures that can make your life a bit easier and hopefully you won’t become bitter in later life like them 😂

Seriously though, these could help.

100% also on how things have got a lot more strict such as how long a newborn can be in car seat for etc.

I think my Mum also finds the swaddle bags really weird too 😂 Which I get, they do look a bit like baby straitjackets but if they work and give people precious sleep and keep the baby happy then so be it!

What moses baskets/downstairs sleep solutions has everyone gone for? I can’t find anything I like. My sister was going to be buying it but I moaned too many times that her choices were too frilly so now I’m looking myself and nothing is jumping out at me. Is there an option that isn’t a moses basket? 😂

My MIL has agreed to buy our moses basket for downstairs and I'm so grateful but everything she sends me is frilly and just awful. I don't want to seem like I'm being ungrateful to her because I do appreciate her buying it but I just can't get on board with her suggestions of what is nice :ROFLMAO:

We're having a next2me upstairs.

Next to me for upstairs and moses basket for downstairs but we’re only using the moses basket because we’ve still got it from our first, luckily it’s not a frilly one! I know what you mean about them being frilly though!! I was looking at Matalan before and they seem to have some non frilly ones!

We were just thinking of using our pram bassinet downstairs. And have a Next To Me for upstairs. Do you think a Moses basket is a good idea?

That's what I'm doing! Bought a base for the bassinet on amazon for €20. A lot of people say don't bother with moses basket and I figured I paid enough for the buggy.

Anyway I'm being induced 37 wks 3 days. Honestly shitting myself but I don't think I was ever going to be ready

I’ve gone for a snuzbaskit Moses basket. I found it second hand on Facebook market place for £20. I was going to get a stand for the pram bassinet but the stand was way more than the second hand Moses basket.

I think it’s a common solution just as long as it's safety rated (ours wasn't). Moses baskets aren’t too expensive but if baby is remotely big they grown out of them so fast and it all adds up.
Claire de lune has some not frilly ones and Aldi usually do a pretty basic one in their baby event.

I’m getting the obaby swing crib for downstairs (as a friend is selling it unused and cheap) as hopefully it’ll last longer but now I’m thinking, do I need a shade/enclosed sides? I never did dark or quiet for daytime naps with first baby but all the noise and activity what comes with 3 year old might be pushing it?

I don’t really miss any of the banned foods etc but I do miss having a chai latte from Starbucks. I know I could fit it in to my caffeine allowance but when I tried to have one it made me so sick and I’m off any kind of hot drink other than hot chocolate anyway. But I miss that flavour so much! I even sent my partner out to get one so I could just sniff it a couple of weeks ago but it didn’t fix that need and I couldn’t bring myself to have a sip 😂

We’ve got pretty much everything we need now. Need to look for a moses basket because my sister was going to buy it but every pic she’s sent me has been frilly and awful so I’ve told her to get something else and I’ll buy the basket 😅 I’ve had to be extra prepared though because I’ve been warned I could be admitted to hospital for the remainder of my pregnancy at any point now so I went on a mad rush a few weeks ago and just got everything sorted.
We were gifted a moses basket for our first thinking we'd have the next to me in our bedroom and the moses basket downstairs. Our son absolutely hated it. Even if he had liked it, he would have outgrown it very quickly as it is very narrow and short. The mattress was plastic coated so got very hot. 😬 Were you hoping to use the moses basket as a next to me?

We're in Scotland so get the Baby Box. Have our SnuzPod upstairs and the box in the living room. Alternatively will use pram bassinet.

Not the older generation as such but have had a lot of negativity from my mother in law. When we told her we were having our second she turned round and said that she didn't even want children, let alone grandchildren and then said she had to contemplate the repercussions and hung up on us. When we visited at Christmas she avoided being in the same room as me, literally getting up and leaving every time I wandered in. Wouldn't mind but she lives about 9 hours drive away so it's not like we're asking her for childcare or any involvement. Miserable cow 🙄
