So I’m around 8 weeks and the sickness has started. Does anyone have any tips ?
I have HG and I can think of nothing worse than ginger things personally! But definitely try if you feel you can stomach them. Things that help is definitely trying to eat little and often. Things like plain rich tea biscuits, crackers, salted crisps. Lucozade sport has been an absolute godsend at keeping me hydrated as I couldn’t stomach plain water or anything else. Eat whatever you can to get through it!

I personally avoid eating too early and almost allow my body to be sick/gag at least once or twice before eating in the morning (as I’m familiar now with when it’s at its worst!)

if you are really struggling don’t be afraid to contact to the doctor. I’m now on both Cyclizine and Metoclopramide as one alone was not working.

Agree with all of this. I also have HG and every time someone suggests ginger to me I want to scream 🙈

as well as all the plain foods suggested, ice cold drinks helped me, and ice lollies but ones with very little flavour because otherwise the strong orange/lemon flavours would set me off. When I was feeling well enough for more than a biscuit or bite of toast things like plain potato waffles were easy to eat (and easy to bring up!), a rusk with a bit of milk or apple slices from the fridge. I also have ‘preggie pop drops’ from Amazon they’re hard sweets to suck but they’re sour/not too sweet and help with the horrible taste in your mouth. I carry them around with me for when I can feel the nausea starting to ramp up again and they do help.

I think I’m on my 6th, maybe 7th meds combo now and hoping this one will finally work but I would definitely advise getting in touch with a GP asap for anything more than a little bit of morning sickness/nausea. Especially with Xmas just around the corner. It’s miserable.

my boy and girl arrived at 4am this morning.. he weighed 5”4 and herself 4”7 and both thriving. Mammy was a bit traumatized and still haven’t been introduced but I’ve calmed down now a bit and waiting on an aero mint with a cuppa tea 🥲

Took me a little while to figure out that it was tea that setting my sickness of, decaf or regular, both made me feel very nauseous and usually vomit. I find ready salted crisps and crackers help better than ginger, ginger makes me feel worse.

I vomited this morning after taking my pregnancy vitamin. I switched to different ones recently, I was taking a multivitamin and separate folic acid but the midwife told me to get the proper pregnancy vitamins because normal daily multivitamins have vitamin A in it.
I'm going to try taking the vitamin in the evening with food instead.

This is a good point re sickness actually. Pregnacare is well known for making people sick. It can be the iron (or just not agree with people). They also have quite low levels of some components.
Vitaboitics wellwoman original and Boots effervescent berocca rip off you can sip both include folic acid but no Vit A, the latter doesn’t have iron.

I had my 12 week scan today. (11+6 officially)

I’m sure this isn’t the case for a lot of women, but my extreme sickness and massive stomach has started to make sense now…

I’M HAVING TWINS AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Yeah pregnacare made me sick so I switched to seven seas and I was fine with those!

I couldn’t stomach ginger when I had morning sickness.

I lived off plain pombears, dry toast, bagels and ready salted crisps for weeks as it was the only thing I could stomach.

Small sips of lucozade sport as a previous person has mentioned was a lifesaver.

My hospital can’t get me in for a growth scan until next week (date yet to be set) so they’ve asked me to come in on Sunday for a CTG just in case

Pregnacare is awful for sickness, my MW told me it sets a lot of women off. She said if I can’t stomach it to buy separate folic acid and vitamin D and just take those as they’re the important ones.

Congratulations @cmcdb 😊 and what a shock @aggytha ! How are you feeling about it? 😊

Pregnacare should be taken with a main meal, not in the morning. I made this mistake and my fishy burps were awful.

Seen a lot about this this week, turns out sickness isn’t related to HCG which makes sense to me as mine has been very high from the start and only been feeling nauseas on and off mainly when not eaten but not actually sick

Thank you!! We sort of half joked about it as my toddler kept saying “mummy has a girl baby and a boy baby in her tummy” and my stomach felt massive these past couple of weeks, but obviously it’s one of those things you feel like would never happen to you! It’s lovely and we are so happy and grateful!

We opted not to pay for an early private scan so I’ve been really anxious and trying to put the pregnancy to the back of my mind (as much as one can with severe morning sickness!) and we actually moved house just yesterday, so it’s been a pretty momentous and terrifying week 🙊 I just feel like I’m in a dream state 🤣
