I found mints really helped, they would take the horrible sick taste out of my mouth!
I have a 34 week appointment to give me a date for mine. You’ve not had that I take it?Feel so lethargic and have just been lazy today but honestly haven’t stopped since I finished work a week ago so feel like I earned a lazy dayhoping to tick off more of my pre-birth jobs tomorrow
will be 37 weeks on Monday and still don’t have a date for my 39 weeks elective section

No I’ve had 34 and 36 week midwife appointments but it’s the hospital who need to give me my date. I’m going to ring them on Monday if I haven’t heard anything. My midwife did say you’ll get it a week before but I thought she was joking!! I think you have to go in pre-op the week before so need to find out soon!I have a 34 week appointment to give me a date for mine. You’ve not had that I take it?
I’m 9 weeks and this was me yesterday! I was WFH but I got absolutely zero work done all day because I was so sick & tired all day. Was in the office today, felt a bit better but was just so so tired!I'm 8 weeks today and boy am I feeling it. I'm struggling to get through the day at work. Feel sick and like I need to lie down constantly. I know it will all be worth it but it's so hard, never felt worse in my life!!! so grateful though and I need to remember that![]()
I've been told I'll get a phone call the week before. Really isn't reassuring, especially when I need to arrange child care for our toddler! Pre-op appointment here is done the day beforeFeel so lethargic and have just been lazy today but honestly haven’t stopped since I finished work a week ago so feel like I earned a lazy dayhoping to tick off more of my pre-birth jobs tomorrow

It’s mad isn’t it, I know the NHS are stretched but you’d think they be able to give you more advanced warning for a planned section!! I think the midwife said pre-op needs to be 5 days or less in advance because they take your bloods.I've been told I'll get a phone call the week before. I did, baby was breech at around 36 weeks and by 37 he’d turned. I did curb walking/walking up the stairs sideways like a crab mainly! A couple of stretches too but none of the crazy ones where you have to lie over/down off a chair -I was too scared of falling! Youtube has some good videos and yoga etc to encourage turning, just cross check moves with the Spinning babies website but I found it all really helpful and worked for me!Anyone had any success on turning a breech baby? I’m only 32 weeks but don’t want to be taking any chances!! I’ve heard great things about the spinning babies website but there is SO much info on it to digest
I actually said to my midwife earlier that it's crazy how with my wrist surgery I had 6 weeks notice of date/time, but a major operation and life changing moment like a c-section is arranged 'last minute'. Knowing my luck I'll get my date, wait in the hospital all day and be told it's been postponed due to emergenciesIt’s mad isn’t it, I know the NHS are stretched but you’d think they be able to give you more advanced warning for a planned section!! Thank you-yes some of the moves on the spinning babies website are interesting (particularly the one involving the ironing board!!!).I did, baby was breech at around 36 weeks and by 37 he’d turned. I had this but it seemed to be short lived. Almost 15 weeks now and it seems to have settled down. Fingers crossed for you!Did anyone’s sickness hit them with a vengeance at 13 weeks? I’ve been struggling since 6 weeks but was starting to find it more bearable after about week 10, but since Monday I’ve been absolutely floored with it. Having a day off work today to try and rest but I just cannot wait until this but ends. I’m sure it was easing by now with my first baby
Well I got told it’s different teams at my hospital who do the planned and emergency sections but they can still get delayed can’t they! I am getting to the point where I want baby out now so would be good to have a dateI actually said to my midwife earlier that it's crazy how with my wrist surgery I had 6 weeks notice of date/time, but a major operation and life changing moment like a c-section is arranged 'last minute'. That's madness, I'm pretty sure I'll get a rough idea when mine is at my 32 week consultant appointmentFeel so lethargic and have just been lazy today but honestly haven’t stopped since I finished work a week ago so feel like I earned a lazy dayhoping to tick off more of my pre-birth jobs tomorrow

I had a call with a consultant at 26 weeks to confirm I wanted to have a section but not having any other consultant appointments. It’s my second baby, you hardly see the midwife for your second so maybe you don’t get the same consultant appointments either? That's madness, I'm pretty sure I'll get a rough idea when mine is at my 32 week consultant appointment![]()
I can't remember exactly because I was having regular contractions at the time and not paying full attention haha but I don't think they have to go as far as the smear test - I had both my tina and rectum swabbed and I think they just gently swiped the swab around the outer edges/just inside.Has anyone had the group b strep swab? Am I right in thinking it's just like a smear test?
I have a steroid one for hayfever and was told it was ok as it's localised, currently smothered tooAnyone been told they can take a medicated nasal spray with the cold? I’m 32 weeks and got 2 hours sleep last night as I can’t breathe-was using vicks, olbas oil in a diffuser, 5 pillows and a saline nasal spray but nothing works!!!
I'm having it at 36 weeks due to having had strep b in the past. Thank you for the information - I am nervous about it but I guess it will be over quickly and like you say it will save a lot of heartache.I can't remember exactly because I was having regular contractions at the time and not paying full attention haha but I don't think they have to go as far as the smear test - I had both my tina and rectum swabbed and I think they just gently swiped the swab around the outer edges/just inside.
I'd recommend the swab to everyone, even if your NHS trust don't provide it as standard (you can have it done privately) - it's only effective if you're swabbed after 37 weeks as the infection can come and go, and the key thing is whether it's likely to be present during labour, but knowing you have it means you can be given antibiotics that could save your baby's lifemy swab during labour came back positive and they started me on antibiotics but baby bandit came too quickly for me to have the full dose, and unfortunately caught the infection (not all babies with a positive mum will catch it). He was really poorly and we were in hospital for a week - luckily he's had no lasting side effects but it could have been so much worse so I feel very strongly about everyone being swabbed if possible because I'd hate for anyone to go through what we did or worse
