Thanks for the new thread!

Been feeling so emotional the last few days. Was worried about reduced movements so went to triage and all was fine - midwife said there’s no real routine until 28 weeks anyway. Felt a bit embarrassed for going in tbh!

But still just can’t shake this feeling that something is wrong. I just want to burst into tears every 5 minutes. Hoping it’s just hormones and will settle soon 😞
I’m feeling the same, it has been moving lots for the last few weeks and then I had my 25 week appointment yesterday and everything was fine and since then I’ve been feeling paranoid I haven’t been feeling it move as much!!

Has anyone signed up to the sites that offer free goodie bags with samples of nappies, creams etc for signing up, wondering if it’s worth it being hounded with lots of junk/spam emails 😅

My first pregnancy was like this-my body started expanding as soon as I peed on the stick, had to come early from our baby moon as the rib pain was so bad. Stupid q but have you tried a bath/heat pad/hot water bottle/ice? The rib pain is fairly normal especially if you’ve a kicker but maybe check in with a midwife about the shoulder pain
I've been absolutely fine up until this week so it's a bit of a shock to the system 🙈😂 I tried a bath last week but couldn't get comfy, I think I need one of those bath pillows haha. I'm going to try again tonight. I think I need to try an ice pack as well. The ribs are just aching but the shoulder is sharp pain and a dull ache. Paracetamol has just muted the pain a bit but it's not fully gone if that makes sense.

Yep, could never get comfy in the bath-everyone says when you are in early labour take a bath but honestly for me the stress of trying to get out of the bath was even worse than the pain 😂. I would phone the midwife about the shoulder pain-sharp pain can be a sign of pre eclampsia and you definitely don’t want to ignore that (don’t want to scare you but also it’s better to make sure when your pregnant!!)

Not really. The Emma bags are full of coupons and washing samples. The really filled one includes one pack of nappies - that’s the one they always show on adverts. I did a survey and got a free pack of aldi nappies which in store were only 85p to buy normally.

We had our 20 week scan yesterday, was told all is fine and should be expecting a little girl. Makes choosing a name a whole lot easier as we were struggling for boys!

Still haven't felt anything yet. She really didn't want to move yesterday which reassured me a bit but still waiting on those first little flutters.

I had a midwife appointment this week and had blood pressure, urine and bloods done and all came back clear so fingers crossed I should be okay regarding preeclampsia. I wonder if it's not even pregnancy related and I'm just relating the two 🙈😂

I have had similar shoulder pain and back pain. I have terrible posture which prior to pregnancy never caused aches or pains - since pregnancy, it's caused both. Sounds silly but maybe its a posture thing? Perhaps look into bump support belts/if you work a sit down job, a cushion for the top of your chair.

Yeh it probably is tbh, my posture is shocking. If I'm up and about moving it's just a dull ache but when I'm sat down/driving it's sharp and radiates into my breast bone and ribs. Currently hoping childbirth isn't as painful 😭 I've got a support belt but I only wear it on long walks because my bump was quite low and I was getting a stitch pain at the bottom of my bump but now all the pain is in my upper body 😢

I am 5ft 2in and got the Lovall petite maternity leggings which were great at first but now my bump is bigger, they finish part way up it and dig in so they aren’t actually big enough for me but they do fit nice on the legs 🤷🏼‍♀️

To be honest, I'm not really sure. I don't struggle to get my jeans on comfortably. She took the fundal height measurement and then asked if I was wearing normal clothes, I said yes, and she tutted and told me to get maternity leggings. I said I don't wear normal leggings so wouldn't start now and she said "well, for comfort you may have to make sacrifices" and I said I'm fine as I am, I have a few dresses I've sized up in and am not fussed about maternity clothing. She went on a lecture about how I'd feel more comfortable in maternity clothes - which I'd get if I'd expressed any discomfort about wearing normal clothes 😂 she wasn't my usual midwife and I can't say I'm particularly keen
I always size up in jeans because I hate buying them and then sending them back when they’re too small. It’s possible I went a bit far, although I didn’t realise they were so big, as they still comfortably fit at 7 months pregnant and my bump isn’t small 😂 they’re so much more comfortable than my actual maternity jeans so it’s not true that maternity clothing is automatically more comfy

Baby is currently having a dance party 🙃 acid reflux is back after a two day reprieve and my nose won't stop running. Third trimester is funnn 🥴

Yep it’s awful. I try and stay away from it 😆

while I slept, husband put together furniture and I’ve woken up to a nursery that’s looking like a little boys bedroom. So nice having all his clothes in one place and not shattered around the house. Definitely feeling very real now.

Before I buy the TT twist and click nappy bin, has anyone found an alternative?

Honestly I feel like these are just ways to harvest data. I’ve picked up two of them now and they’ve both been so naff I wish I hadn’t bothered. I’m getting a lot more spam emails since too!

Same. I signed up for two of them and when I went to get the free bag they didn't even have any and I just keep getting spammed 🙈

I’ve got the Vital Baby hygiene bin on my Amazon wish list, would be £42.50 with the 15% off and doesn’t need refill cartridges which in my brain saves money in the long run and is more environmentally friendly. The reviews say it’s smaller than expected though 🤔

That’s a good shout. Are they worth buying? I’ve heard mixed reviews but we definitely want a nappy bin.
Their a good size and my cousin and sister both told me their a must have so I said for a tenner you can’t go wrong 😅

How do you get the 15% off Amazon wish list? How does it work x

I ordered the Lovall Petite Everyday Maternity leggings last night in black. Thanks for the rec to those who mentioned them. I’m not very big at the moment at all (as everyone keeps telling me) (18 weeks) - so ordered my size and the size above to try.
