Thanks so much ❤❤ it’s hard just having google and not being able to tell friends/mum yet.
I think there’s such a huge stigma about not telling people until the 12 week mark. I done a test just after 4 weeks and the first person I wanted to tell was my mam, even before my partner.. I waited 3 days for gp confirmation and was straight to my mam’s.. tell whoever you like, you need support now more than ever

36 weeks today, finished for maternity leave now and had a growth scan today too! Good job I was sat down as they told me baby is measuring at 8lbs 9 💀
Opting for an induction from 2nd June so when I’ll be 39 weeks on the dot as they won’t allow me to go over. Again, praying for my cervix/vagina 🤣 no real point to this post just wanted to get it off my chest as I’m freaking out a little bit 😂

Can I just say… it’s bloody hot. 😅

20 week scan tomorrow for the twins.Trying to push it out my mind so I don’t worry but it’s starting to get to me that if I don’t think about it, there’ll be something wrong. (I’ve had a lot of things go wrong in my life and feel like I'm always dwelling on what could go wrong because good stuff like this doesn’t happen to me).

I know, I’m a nightmare at the best of times when I’m looking at photos of myself. I can’t stop thinking about it lately and how much / what food I’m eating. I might try to get some help as I don’t want to impose my issues on my kids. Sorry if it’s bringing the thread down as I’ve found myself opening up on here a few times about body related issues, but it does help me to see how flawed my thinking is.
I understand what you’re going through. I’m a size 18 and I don’t want to get any bigger but I know I most probably will. I’m also tall so I can’t just shrink into the background. You know what we’re gonna do? We’re going to be fatter for a few more months while we grow our humans, and then we’re going to shrink back to where we want to be. How does that sound?
Please remember though, your children will want to see what mum looked like when she was young and hot - make sure you take photos, no matter how you feel about your weight. We can’t go back.

Thanks ❤ yes I’m wondering if I’ll tell her sooner, it’s just then where do you stop - telling all siblings and I know she’ll be desperate to tell her sisters etc. Tell one close friend and then want to tell them all! First baby in our family so it’ll be a massive deal. Not helped that my brother has been struggling to conceive for a couple of years and it happened to us instantly 😵💫 so I’ll see. Very grateful for this thread!
Tread a little carefully with this. We’ve just told my husband’s brother about us and he acted horrifically, and still isn’t talking to us. He and his wife have been ttc for 8 years and they’re both now very bitter about any good baby news. Maybe get some others out of the way first, and maybe enlist them to help.

Bit of a rant so feel free to scroll past.

We told our closest family and friends recently and now they are taking it upon themselves to tell other people, people who I don't even know. I'm so upset because I just wanted to tell my close circle and I didn't want everyone bloody knowing. I feel like it's my business who I want to share my news with and no one else's 😢
My mum was literally on the phone telling someone about 5 mins after I told her. I totally get it 😢

Thanks everyone for your replies! I’ve tried speaking to him calmly about it loads and he still reacts the same, starts swearing, calling me names etc. still not heard off him, but he’s posting selfies of himself online, which if I do, I’m looking for male attention 🙄 but obviously has time for that and no time to check in on me and baby. I just feel like shit, I could give birth any day now and he’s just left me on my own managing everything.

i don’t think I can carry on like this or go back, I just feel so down and it should be a happy time with it being my last pregnancy and his first and it’s just not. I’m stressing about getting the house ready and everything else while he’s sat smoking it up at his mums.

Guys I’m 24 weeks and milk came out of my nipples last night when i squeezed a bit to see if it would!!!! I’m so excited I want to tell everyone but I don’t have many people it would be appropriate to tell 😂

I’ve just had bright red blood when I’ve wiped, so I rang the hospital they can’t get me in until tomorrow so said I can either wait or go sit in A&E but could be waiting hours🙃 I’ve just cancelled my whole day in work for no reason! Is a bit of blood normal at just under 12 weeks? It’s stopped now it was only a bit when I wiped
It can be completely normal but go and get checked ❤

I don't know how you ladies do it, be pregnant and also have another child - young ones at that - to look after. I'm knackered after a day at the office dealing with people then walking the dog at a snail's pace!
I think it’s fair to say, I’m less relaxed and glowy than I was last time, during Covid, fully wfh, living with family who waited on me haha. Ironically though despite dealing with a walking, talking can of red bull, walking the dogs and going to the office are still the most exhausting parts of my day haha! Morning sickness was much easier without a toddler trying to help hold my hair and then pretending to be sick next to me though

Why is pregnancy soooo glamorous?!

The bloating and trapped wind today have been ridiculous. I could probably pass for being well into the third trimester 😅

Got my letter yesterday to confirm no high chance of Edwards etc, starting to feel very real now 😬 fellow early second trimester folks... have you started buying yet? All we've bought is a duckie bath robe from M&S 😂

People are really generous when you buy second hand, the amount of extra things I’ve got when I’ve gone to pick up the item just cos ‘they want to get rid of it’ is amazing.

I’m 40+5 today and finally lost my plug yesterday so was hoping something would be happening soon but nope baby is still very comfy 😭😂

I have my private 8 week scan tomorrow morning and I’ve absolutely convinced myself there’s going to be nothing in there. I’ve also had very few symptoms: boobs and a little nausea but that’s all. I’m exhausted from worrying about it. I’m being ridiculous, aren’t I? Husband keeps saying, “but you’re tired and have some symptoms - that must mean there’s something in there”. not necessarily buddy.

Luckily it’s an early appointment and I need to paint a shed tomorrow so if it’s not viable, at least I have a task to do tomorrow.

Thank you for this, I am having a major wobble today because the baby will never have the family unit it deserves and maybe I'm horrible and selfish for keeping it even though I always wanted a child.
I do have support from friends, haven't even told the parents yet as the baby was not planned and I hate to disappoint them.
A bad day probably, hoping for a better one tomorrow.
The baby deserves happy, engaged parents, and that looks different in every case! Maybe that’s two happy parents together or two happy parents living separately or one happy parent doing it on their own because the other parent isn’t interested or happy (and no baby deserves a parent who isn’t interested!). You should like you’ll be a wonderful parent, the fact you’re already worrying about your baby’s needs means you’re far from horrible and selfish. I’m sure they won’t be disappointed but if they are, and they can’t swallow that enough to support you, then it says more about then than you.

We didn’t have any help and I would have killed for some to be honest. It’s surprising how consuming a little person is in those first days, it’s nice if you have people who will come and make you a meal or a cuppa, do some housework to keep you ticking over and make you feel looked after. But, if you don’t really want anyone around you then just say you don’t and get a taxi home instead.

Is anyone else really struggling with eating? I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and the nausea/sickness has been tough for the last 6/7 weeks (not to the level of HG though). It's at the point now where I just don't want to eat, don't fancy anything, my food aversions are crazy and I'm feeling anxious about food.

I don't know what I'm looking for, just feeling sorry for myself 😅
I’m not tooooo bad but my bloody Viking of a husband keeps eating mackerel and drinking mead which is turning my stomach like nothing I’ve experienced.
The thought of certain foods makes me want to hurl, but I find once I’m eating it, I’m ok.
