Can I just say… it’s bloody hot. 😅

20 week scan tomorrow for the twins.Trying to push it out my mind so I don’t worry but it’s starting to get to me that if I don’t think about it, there’ll be something wrong. (I’ve had a lot of things go wrong in my life and feel like I'm always dwelling on what could go wrong because good stuff like this doesn’t happen to me).
With my first, I remember being so worried about the 20 week scan but then when we had it and everything was ok I felt a huge sense of relief. You start feeling more movements after that too which is reassuring. It’s normal to be worried but try and enjoy the scan tomorrow if you can because it’s really amazing. Had it with this baby a couple of weeks ago and I’d forgotten how detailed they go checking the heart and other organs etc. it’s quite exciting once you get over the initial nervousness x

I think nausea is worse. In my first pregnancy I had three ‘states’: feeling sick, being sick, just been sick. Just been sick was bearable for an hour or so. Feeling sick relentlessly is horrible and so draining. I’ve escaped it for the most part this time, although brushing my teeth can trigger sickness sometimes.
Agree I dont mind the being sick because I feel better after but feeling sick all day is the worst 😩 every morning I’m gagging from brushing my teeth I’m fine in the evenings though 🤣

Omg this is my third and I’ve had a couple school mums I barely talk to ask if it was planned! They’re like you have one of each already as well. Ok and???
Yeah I get all sorts of weird comments. The guy at my local shop asked if my husband was happy about this pregnancy!! Some people are unbelievably rude.

I thought hair dye was a no go?
The reason they say this is because your skin is more sensitive. Do a patch test, like you should with hair dye anyway, to make sure you don’t react. I’ve dyed my hair, had an eyebrow tint and had my eyelashes tinted and it was all fine.

2.5 weeks is quite early to find out as ovulation week is usually around week 2 so you may have less time than you think 😊😊
Only a week or 2, but still haha 😂
God I'm a moron. I'm counting from my ovulation/conception date rather than date of my last period. So that's four weeks!

Do more people experience this: when people at work found out I was pregnant (very bad morning sickness and all day fatigue) they started commenting about how tired or sick I Look.
I’m quite fed up with it, I already feel rubbish. can’t fit in my normal clothes but also don’t have a belly yet, so I don’t feel like myself at all. Having colleagues telling me I look sick/tired/ bad makes my confidence go down hard!
I hadn’t told anyone till 12 weeks but my boss said to me when I had told her, that she was glad as I really wasn’t looking well in the weeks beforehand and was contemplating stepping in to tell me to go see a doctor etc. I do think they mean it from a good place but your hormones are everywhere when you’re pregnant so sometimes comes across slightly strange!

For those who already have a kid(s), do you keep forgetting how far along you are? Because I really do, it’s a good job I’ve got an app that tells me 🤣🤣
Yes! With my first I new how many weeks and days I was at any given moment. And also knew their approximate size! Not this time though 😂

People should just get the fact we’re irritable / sensitive about certain things 😂 I’m getting more irritated about people asking me about my 20 week scan and whether I’ll find out gender even though I’ve said repeatedly NO, we want a surprise. It’s next week and I’m actually thinking about leaving messages unread and phones put on silent.

Thanks for sharing this. I’m dead set in a c section and this has definitely confirmed my choice. So partner went home at night? How are you finding /did find the blood thinner injections when you got home? This concerns me a little and I’ll have to take them for weeks because I’m geriatric 🙄
---
I noticed in my zoom call today that my face is filling out 😆 should probably tell my manager soon.
It was honestly such a brilliant experience!
Yeah, partner was officially allowed to stay until 9pm but they didn’t actually kick him out until 10ish, and then supposed to be allowed back in at 9am, but arrived at 8ish to get a parking space and was going to wait in the cafe but they let him in.

One thing I would say is don’t be afraid to buzz the midwives when you need anything. I hadn’t changed a nappy by the time my partner had to leave because I still had my catheter, so when I had to do it I buzzed for help. Then once when I needed a wee and didn’t want to leave him. Then at least twice for help hand expressing colostrum - tmi but my nipples are flat/inverted so baby couldn’t latch, and I didn’t have the knack to express myself so a midwife helped me get a couple of syringes.

My partner has been doing the injections because I’m terrified of needles - they don’t hurt and they just sting a bit afterward, I’m too much of a wimp to do it myself but if you’re not needle phobic they’re absolutely fine!

After feeling so confident and prepared for my section tomorrow I’m now really doubting myself and my choice 😩

I’ve spent ages reading people’s recovery stories and I’m scared I’ve made the wrong decision.

Hi guys, 1st scan tomorrow, they have me at 12wks but I've calculated me as 11wks (longer cycles)
Im only 5ft2 and a size uk18/20, raised bmi. Feeling really nervous they won't be able to see on the ultrasound. I've had internal ultrasound before so not bothered regarding that just kinda down and out about it all I guess. Anyone been in same boat?
I’m always here to talk about stuff like this as I’m desperate to talk to other plus-sized moms to be and their experiences.
I’m a size 22ish at the minute, 5’9 and bmi 45. When I went for my 12 week scan, I did have to lift my belly up so they could get to the location but they managed it by pressing down quite firmly. I’ve since compared my photos to others and they are a bit more blurred but I can see my babies, they are healthy (and long may they continue to be) and that’s all that matters at the end of the day.
Coming up to my Doppler appointment next week and I have the same worry they won’t be able to hear a heartbeat and then there’s the 20 week scan. I hope that as the pregnancy progresses it’s easier?

Urgh 33 weeks now and not sleeping well at all, the insomnia from the first trimester is back with vengeance and my pelvic pain is adding to having to rotate all night.

Also feeling very lonely at the moment, I ended up in tears last night as I tried to have a serious conversation with my husband about the birth and what options we have and what I need from him during labour and he’s always so jokey about everything, making jokes about how he’s gunna be on the golf course or something and it was funny the first time but I genuinely want to have a serious conversation.
I know for partners, nothing has changed yet and it’s hard for them to understand what we are going through mentally and physically at the moment but I’m so full of worry and anxiety, I feel like it’s all on my shoulders to burden and I just want him at least to give me a hug and say it’s going to be ok we are in this together ☹. It’s a very vulnerable feeling.
I hope you were able to tell him that - sometimes people don’t know how far they’ve pushed you. Tell him what you need. Xx

I've just had a very small amount of bright red blood when I wiped this morning, I'm 15 weeks - should I be worried? I have a midwife appointment this week so will mention it then but I'm panicking 🙈
I’ve had bleeding throughout my pregnancy - lots of things can cause it. I’ve always called the midwife/hospital to get it checked though, even if just to put your mind at ease.

I managed to get a call with my GP because I’m on certain medications and obviously wanted to check whether I should carry on taking them. But the receptionist pushed back lots first, and directed me to self refer to the midwife. It’s so weird to me that they’d just let you carry on with life and trust you to research everything yourself, in the first 10 weeks which are most volatile and risky? Seemed soo strange to me!

Can you get a taxi home instead? I assume you can rig the taxi with a baby seat. They’re going to want to stay and look at the baby for a while, so maybe alleviate the need for them to pick you up?

If ever there was a time when you shouldn’t worry about being the biggest you’ve been it’s when you’re pregnant with twins!! I think that’s a perfectly valid reason (not that we need reasons to be different sizes throughout our lives but you know what I mean!)
I know, I’m a nightmare at the best of times when I’m looking at photos of myself. I can’t stop thinking about it lately and how much / what food I’m eating. I might try to get some help as I don’t want to impose my issues on my kids. Sorry if it’s bringing the thread down as I’ve found myself opening up on here a few times about body related issues, but it does help me to see how flawed my thinking is.

Much earlier than you guys but I got this update on my Apple Watch which times in with the exact day that we conceived, which is crazy to me. My body knew long before I did! So fascinating.

What vitamins would you recommend? Ive been taking just boots own folic acid+vitamin d pregnancy tablets since trying to conceive and up to now because I’ve run out, the bottle says only take up until 12 weeks so didn’t see any point buying a new bottle just for a couple more weeks
So now I’m taking pregnacare from a sample pack my midwife gave me, is there any other ones cheaper then pregnacare or is that the best one to take?
Folic acid, vitamin D and Proceive Omega 3 is what I'm taking and at my 12 week scan the midwife told me to continue taking all of them throughout my pregnancy. I've also been prescribed iron tablets as my blood tests showed low iron.

Currently no sign of the 2nd trimester being any easier. Have a load of new things to complain about such as back ache, round ligament pain, trouble sleeping and the most awful vivid dreams. I'm crying at anything that is mildly upsetting and still very tired. Heartburn and reflux after my meals too, oh and constipation - lovely! 😂 But other than that I am feeling extremely blessed to be pregnant and looking forward to all the stages of pregnancy, even as I complain through them 😂

Hope everyone else is doing okay ❤
