Do we all work together?
I’m also a teacher and feel so let down with how work have treated me!
100%! I had a friend say she “wasn’t waiting a week” to meet him and wants to meet him as soon as we’re homeI really don’t understand why people are in such a rush to meet babies. I think it’s a status thing so they can boast on Facebook to their friends ‘oh yes I held her THE MINUTE SHE WAS BORN!!’I’m never interested in newborn babies, they don’t exactly do much

Oh I’ve been like a ball of rage this week so you’re not alone there!I'm quite a placid person but I've just snapped at my OH. We've got our second NCT class tomorrow and it's about baby care etc. So they've asked us to send in anything specific on the whatsapp group that we want to know. We do not have a bath. We only have a shower and very little room for a baby bath to go. So I've asked about how you shower a baby/what you do if you don't have a bath.
He on the other hand, has decided to google "Bathroom refit services" and "how much space does a bath take".
We've paid £240 quid for this course, the lady can answer my bloody question and he can get on with the DIY jobs he needs to do like sorting out our outside office so our inside office can move and become the babies room!
Annnnnd breathe....
If you could control the weight of your baby solely through what you ate, there wouldn’t be any more teeny tiny fragile babies, or on the other end of the scale, babies too big to be delivered safely. They’re just keeping an eye on your baby, and at the minute baby is growing fine and there’s no cause to do anything else. Do you have another scan booked?I feel like the general information they give and online makes out it’s because of your diet/bmi. I had an “overweight” bmi at booking so feel judged. Idk maybe it’s because my fatphobic mum was with me. I also just don’t really understand as his head and abdominal circumference say 94th centile but his expected weight is average for this stage in pregnancy so I just feel a bit overwhelmed trying to make sense of it all.
Is it the pregnancy hormones? Why are they all so unlikable this year man? I’m struggling to stay interested I don’t like anyone. Samie is the best one but she’s not exactly entertaining she’s just nice and not cringe.
In my experience, it isn't just babies size. Baby will also have high blood sugar levels. So not only will you be reducing your levels you will be reducing baby's levels which will make it easier when they're born.Feeling frustrated this evening. I had my 32 week growth scan today and they were really happy with how baby is growing, said everything is measuring as it should be and I’m on the 51st centile (last visit was 49th), measured fluid and all fine etc etc. this afternoon had a call with my diabetic midwife as I’ve got GD and she suggested starting insulin because my fasting numbers are still high. I’ve declined, I don’t want to go on insulin and I can’t see the issue if the baby is measuring as he should be and has made steady growth since my last visit? I just can’t see how this makes sense when they’re saying everything is looking good![]()
I’m hoping to borrow my sisters if she can get it to me in time! I think they tend to use the tampon (or the one that’s like a tampon - is that the pessar?) or the gel here.Do you have a tens machine? I used one on my induction with my first and it really helped. In hindsight I reckon I could have gone on longer with just the tens machine before I got the epidural- which I won’t ask for this time!
Also what kind of induction have they had because I think the effects vary - I had the pessary, this time I’ll be induced by balloon….
Very true. Time will tell what happens! Probably not worth worrying about now. Did just realise that in 44 days or less I’ll be back on this ward either being induced or with a babyIt doesn't always go that way - I find the checking very painful too (I have lots of internal scar tissue and for some reason it hurts like a mofo) but they only checked me once each time and I was 1-2cm, and they never got to check again because the rest of it happened so quickly! I remember feeling similar being admitted for the induction last time. I could hear women literally wailing and screaming
but as far as I can remember, I didn't do any of that! You can always ask for more pain relief too if you need it xx
You did the right thing. In my experience, midwives are either actual angels sent from heaven or totally rude and seem to resent doing their job - you must’ve just been unlucky there. So I’m 20+4 and I’ve definitely felt less movement since yesterday, to the point I haven’t felt anything today. I called my midwife and she isn’t working today so told me to go to the hospital to be checked.. well, the midwife that saw me could not have been any more obvious that she saw me as an inconvenience. “We wouldn’t even invite you in this early” and “is there a reason you couldn’t see your midwife”. EVERYTHING online says to call immediately for reduced movements, but now I feel like I’ve been a massive drama queen. She also told me they aren’t concerned by about reduced movements until 28 weeks?!
Baby is fine anyway, thank god.
I really need to get our cats used to not sleeping in our room/on our bed but the idea of booting them out makes me all teary eyedBrought the Moses basket down so the dogs can get used to it (and praying the naughty one doesn’t chew it) and ordered the stroller. Feeling a bit more real now
