The sad thing is, having worked in paid for nurseries, the money doesn't go to the staff actually looking after the children. It's the people that own the business sitting in their big houses while their staff put in the hard work on minimum wage with no benefits. It's mad isn't it. On the one hand I want the people looking after my child to be paid appropriately for doing a hard job. But on the other hand if it costs most or all of your salary then it makes the decision really difficult!
I get teary thinking about baby going to nursery and making little baby friends![]()
and he's not even here yet
Thank youAww big hugs!! Hopefully you feel a bit of relief at finally getting it confirmed so you can now be cared for as you should and you’re in the best possible hands! How far along are you? Hope baby stays cooking a bit longer
So true!! I finished a week ago when I was 35+6 and got comments like oh you’ll be bored what are you gonna do??well I’m not bored, can sleep as much as I like, get things sorted for the babe and enjoy some time by myself as it is running out!!
I bought a hanging decoration for her bedroom after our 12 week scan, a rainbow for our rainbowOut of pure interest what were the first things people bought for baby?
We were in a bookshop today & I couldn't resist a beautifully made book that made me cry when reading it![]()
I was only speaking to my OH this morning about it. Two of my friends who I have been there through pregnancy losses are posting non stop this week about it. One has not once asked me how I am. I’m not anxious and have been generally calm through out my pregnancy so I’m not triggered by the posts. I do question why I’m not allowed be happy in my pregnancy (iv posted nothing on my socials and pretty much kept it on a need to know basis) but these people feel it’s ok to share and re share stories. Each to their own I get that but I feel the most triggering thing about these posts are that people who have suffered a loss in the past and are currently pregnant are now seeing these day in day out. Tldr - they are triggering to the very people they are about
I agree your absolutely allowed to be happy and I love people sharing Happy News. Iv had two losses before this pregnancy and I’m finding the week hard. It brings back for me memories and emotions that at this point in my current pregnancy I’m not able to deal with. It’s no disrespect to other peoples stories or forgetting the babies I lost it’s just this particular time isn’t the right one for me to be involved in the week. So Iv stepped back from social media. It is really hard….I see it from both sides, this is number 4 after 3 losses, one was actually during baby loss awareness week last year and had to have an op that week so it’s a lot….but also want to try and not be triggered and anxious because I’m 22 weeks now and this baby girl seems so well, wriggling around every day so just want to be positive and focus on the future. You are absolutely allowed to be happy about and in your pregnancy. Sending you lots of love!![]()
