My mum is driving me mad. We have quite a strained relationship which I won't get into, but she's a bit of a narcissist and totally emotionally just...unaware. We are not close, as much as she tries to force the narrative that we are.

She keeps referring to the baby as "our baby" (which really creeps me out). I had a slight bleed last week (all good, turned out to be a polyp on my cervix). I told her after the fact once I knew everything ok and it was turned into how could I not tell her !? And then after my 12 week scan Thursday, she kept texting me asking if she could tell her friends yet, despite the fact I have made it clear to her several times I didn't want anyone to know before my step child as to me it was only fair.

I understand she's excited about being a granny but gaaaaah, I'm so close to exploding. Also whoever said the tiredness gets better second trimester... WHEN!? 😭🤣

Second attempt at dating scan today. Armed with a full fat coke (😋) so hopefully baby plays ball. Wish me luck!
Quoting myself but all fine, measurements gotten and all looks good. 14 weeks tomororw! 🤯

As an aside though, finding it really hard when getting “poor” scan pics… I have a higher BMI (weight a v sensitive issue for me, just over the threshold) so I’m trying to process being pregnant and getting bigger with this, but it’s so hard seeing all the little negatives through the process. My scan picture aren’t massively clear (and I don’t carry a huge amount of weight on my stomach) and I’m finding that really hard. Like, I just want a perfect picture you know? I don’t really know what this moan is, just waffling I guess. It’s hard being a woman. 🙁

Made the worst choice ever today and wore a jumpsuit that has a tiny button at the back that I can’t fasten alone. Why the balls did I do that when I’m weeing every 4 minutes?! Just had to get literally naked in Tesco toilets after asking my fella to undo the button for the 67th time. Never again 😂

Been admitted to hospital for the last 2 days due to blood pressure. Everything is fine but they’re wanting to keep me for a few more days. The hospital environment doesn’t exactly lend itself to keeping bp down. There’s a workman fixing a light over my bed with a drill right now. Roll on next week and baby actually arriving

It's mad isn't it. On the one hand I want the people looking after my child to be paid appropriately for doing a hard job. But on the other hand if it costs most or all of your salary then it makes the decision really difficult!

I get teary thinking about baby going to nursery and making little baby friends 😭 😭 and he's not even here yet
The sad thing is, having worked in paid for nurseries, the money doesn't go to the staff actually looking after the children. It's the people that own the business sitting in their big houses while their staff put in the hard work on minimum wage with no benefits.

Aww big hugs!! Hopefully you feel a bit of relief at finally getting it confirmed so you can now be cared for as you should and you’re in the best possible hands! How far along are you? Hope baby stays cooking a bit longer🤞🏻🤗

So true!! I finished a week ago when I was 35+6 and got comments like oh you’ll be bored what are you gonna do??🙄 well I’m not bored, can sleep as much as I like, get things sorted for the babe and enjoy some time by myself as it is running out!!
Thank you ❤ I really do, I was getting increasingly frustrated so definitely glad we got there in the end! I honestly am so grateful for our NHS, the treatment I have had today honestly reduces me to tears, everyone has been so proactive & incredible!

33w+6d so actually not as scary as it could be 🙌🏼xx

Morning morning all… I am wondering if our threads warrant a wiki or something that we can cut and paste for the first post of each new thread?

Just thinking helpful stuff that always comes up and we can link to reputable websites that help with information?

Like: spotting, what’s in your hospital bag and when to pack, c-section info… raspberry leaf tea! I don’t know what else but obviously there will be a few things we can put on it as a bit of help and guidance…. Just thinking even since I’ve been on here there’s been some great stuff shared or regularly recurring questions xx

Out of pure interest what were the first things people bought for baby?
We were in a bookshop today & I couldn't resist a beautifully made book that made me cry when reading it 😂
I bought a hanging decoration for her bedroom after our 12 week scan, a rainbow for our rainbow 🌈❤

One of those days for me today… crying as I’m so fed up and can’t do much without something hurting. Feel like we’ve still loads to sort out and not very much time to do so. Eughhhhh!!

I was only speaking to my OH this morning about it. Two of my friends who I have been there through pregnancy losses are posting non stop this week about it. One has not once asked me how I am. I’m not anxious and have been generally calm through out my pregnancy so I’m not triggered by the posts. I do question why I’m not allowed be happy in my pregnancy (iv posted nothing on my socials and pretty much kept it on a need to know basis) but these people feel it’s ok to share and re share stories. Each to their own I get that but I feel the most triggering thing about these posts are that people who have suffered a loss in the past and are currently pregnant are now seeing these day in day out. Tldr - they are triggering to the very people they are about
It is really hard….I see it from both sides, this is number 4 after 3 losses, one was actually during baby loss awareness week last year and had to have an op that week so it’s a lot….but also want to try and not be triggered and anxious because I’m 22 weeks now and this baby girl seems so well, wriggling around every day so just want to be positive and focus on the future. You are absolutely allowed to be happy about and in your pregnancy. Sending you lots of love! 💗💗💗💗
I agree your absolutely allowed to be happy and I love people sharing Happy News. Iv had two losses before this pregnancy and I’m finding the week hard. It brings back for me memories and emotions that at this point in my current pregnancy I’m not able to deal with. It’s no disrespect to other peoples stories or forgetting the babies I lost it’s just this particular time isn’t the right one for me to be involved in the week. So Iv stepped back from social media.
For me personally Im finding (even though it seems all I do is panic) that hearing from postive people with postive stories is helping me through and giving me Hope.

I had a little bleed earlier today, it was light in colour and in amount but my mind went into overdrive as I’ve lost 2 pregnancies in the past year. My fertility dr didn’t seem concerned as it wasn’t heavy, red nor painful so have said just to keep on going as usual until my scan next week. It’s stopped now and I’m feeling a lot better emotionally but I was struggling so much earlier.. have many other ladies here had bleeding in the first trimester? I am 6+3.

I’m 3 days away from full term. Exhausted and fed up. I really really want things to kick off now soon. I won’t survive going over 😪 not sleeping at all. Sorry for the moan, it’s been a long (although straight forward) 9 months and I just want to meet the little guy
